Jaimo17
Hi All, please some help!! using data editor to schedule a cup. There are a total of 398 teams who need to enter at some stage, but I want to hold back 60 odd teams (roughly) to enter later on. how do I rattle the other teams down to say 64 then join the other 64 on to make a round of 128. Want several qualifying rounds to whittle the 334 down to 64. please someone help, it’s driving me bonkers today! Lol
Wolf_pd
Excel is the easiest thing to use You need 10 rounds. You will have 3 qualifying rounds and 7 regular rounds. QR1: 156 teams are added, QR2: 178 teams are added, QR3: no teams are added Then in round 1: 64 teams are added (64 is a lot easier to add than 60 btw) and then you have 2nd, 3rd, 4th, QF, SF and F where no teams are added

Jaimo17
When you say excel is easier to use, what do you mean?
Wolf_pd
I always work it into an excel, using a few formulas. You always know that the final is played by 2 teams, SF by 4, etc, so you can set up a sheet for how your tournament should run and where teams are added to the tournament. Would love to know. Obviously working backwards it’s 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256 etc... but don’t get the bit about how to narrow down 398 with a couple of Qual rounds to 64, and at what stage to bring them in? Wolf_pd
See screenshot. Under teams is all the formulas you see in column E. Only column where you add teams is column C
