POSSESSION PHASE:

The first phase of construction of the game is based on the desire to set the low and short construction of the action starting from the goalkeeper, with the playmaker lowering himself to receive the ball. The fundamental principle is to create numerical superiority in the ball area with reduced distances between the players with the aim of moving the ball quickly and alternating vertical play with wide play (game changes). The team prefers back-to-forward play and deep attacks. Sarri therefore opts for a style of direct vertical play that if it does not find immediate solutions prefers the consolidation of the possession to reorganize the attack. The two fullbacks alternate in forward movements when the attacks move from their own side of the field. The attacking midfielder has ample freedom of movement with the two forwards in the team's tactical scheme, appearing almost like a total midfielder.
 

DEFENSIVE PHASE:

The defensive phase of Sarri's teams moves on 6 key points that can summarize his football vision of the non-possession phase:

-Attack the first construction of the opposing game, setting an offensive pressing 

-To address, in the first instance, the opposing team on the wings to then invite them centrally towards the maximum density of men

-Press on the wings with the opponents in difficult conditions of reception

- Correct application of the defensive elastic
