[FM17] Inbox - Filters - Filter Messages Dialog

Hi all,

I would like to change the behaviour of the inbox filter messages dialog so that it remembers which topics have been de-selected. I have attached a screenshot of the dialog in question.

The default behaviour is that, once unticked, the setting is forgotten as soon as you hit continue. I am trying to permanently filter out all news items on training and so I need it to save state once I continue.

I've tried editing the 'inbox filters dialog.xml' file and changing the '<boolean id="save_session_state" value' to be true rather than false, but that doesn't seem to work. I've tried this in the main data folder as well as the updates folders.

Does anyone have any ideas, or does anyone know how I can get this to work?

If the save session state doesn't work then it's likely it's not possible.

That's frustrating. Do you have any idea where the list is populated from? My other thought was to see if I could find the file that controls the list itself and then perhaps see if I could edit the xml to default the setting as off.

It's generated by the game code not the xml files so we don't have access to it, you could have a look at the 'inbox filters' xml file found in the panels/human folder and see if there is anything you can play around with in there.

Thanks for the tip Michael. I gave that a try too, but no luck. Thanks for the help, but looks like it's not possible.
