  1. Hi all, I'm looking to get back into FM after a couple of years away and I'm going to need a new laptop. I've read these pages and a few other sources to try and get an idea of what I need, but thought I'd post in here to ask for some advice. Budget - Maximum £400 I'm looking to play FM17, preferably using the 3D Match Engine. I know that to run this as best as possible I'll probably need 8GB RAM and a dedicated graphics card as well as much CPU as possible, though I'm aware all of this is unlikely to be available in my budget. The only laptop I can see that comes close within my budget is: http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/hewlett-packard-refurbished-hp-15-ay167sa-15.6-intel-core-i5-7200u-2.5ghz-a1-z3c95ea/version.asp Can anyone offer a bit of advice on alternatives, perhaps options that sacrifice one aspect over another (for instance, sacrifice graphical capability for CPU and I'll then play in 2D only etc)? Or perhaps the one listed above is the best option? Many thanks in advance. EDIT: Have just read some reviews of laptopsdirect and it doesn't fill me with confidence to buy a refurb unit from them, despite the positive words in this thread. Ideally I'd prefer to buy from Currys PC World or similar so if anything goes wrong it's easier to remedy: https://www.reviews.co.uk/company-reviews/store/laptops-direct
  2. Brilliant, cheers Erimus. I'll give these a go when I get the chance!
  3. As far as I can see nothing much has changed from the default skin there? You can remove the attributes panel on the profile page of the default skin and you seem to be able to do the same in ArtDekDok's skin too, but it doesn't replace the attributes with graphics....
  4. Any ideas whether something like this will be made for FM14? Alternatively would the old files still work? Think I'm gonna play the game with reduced information on attributes available, though I'd also like to find a way to hide all info from scout reports that relates to potential ability (including stars and descriptions such as "Could be a top Premier League Player")

  6. What have you changed Wally, just out of interest? And have these new changes been tested?
  7. Don't know, haven't seen any for a while though, all real fixture updates are .xml/.dbc files like this one.
  8. Balls. Never mind then. I'll just go without real fixtures. Used to be better when they were integrated using a .ddt (or .edt, can't remember which) file. Thanks for the hard work though Stew, and cheers Magic for the advice.
  9. got you. Is there any way to integrate the two then?
  10. Not on mine they don't! Despite other leagues working correctly. is there a conflict with certain files perhaps?
  11. Anyone know why the League two fixtures aren't working with this? Really strange, but I guess there's a conflict with other files e.g. Ron's lower league update?
  12. Could anyone please upload the panels? It says they're unavailable on the link over at fmgreece
  13. I like it not being seeded though, makes it more interesting! What about the problem of it not erasing the three letter abbreviation next to clubs in the league table, did you say you'd fixed that? It didn't seem to work for me.
  14. So if I add a season update of July 15th to the UEFA Cup it won't do it? I'll test it out when I get home, in the meantime I've been using a workaround of using a .lnc file to remove the three-letter name which I'm reasonably happy with, would be better to fix it properly though. Also, out of interest, how have you changed the drawing system?
  15. Haha, no. I was just asking because I want to use this, but am slightly concerned that it was developed for FM2010 and not FM2011. I'm hoping to start a career game tonight so will use it even if I haven't got an answer, more for peace of mind though!
