kidhander1983
I'm not sure sliding contracts work well. I signed Barbashev out of the CHL with the Blues, I got him at the season end, on June 9th. It was a three-year deal. Then on July it was a two-year deal. This is not correct, Barbashev's deal shoud slide of one year.
TBL-Manimal
Did you sign him at June 9th? Or did he just come to your team on that date? If you signed him on June 9th with a contract for that season, the first year would be until July 1st. IMO, it shouldn't be possible to sign players for the same season that has already had their last game played.
kidhander1983
I signed him mid-season, the contract went thought at June 9th.

kidhander1983
Maybe the game checks NHL games played (which of course he did not)? Better wait for Riz, probably.
SI Staff Riz Remes Posted March 29, 2015 SI Staff Share Posted March 29, 2015 I'll have a look at it. It could be that in this case it is not triggering the slide for some reason.
RhinoHaHa
This happened in the 2007 version of the game and it is still happening. I especially notice it when around the beginning of May they tell you, "If you don't sign these players by June 1, you will lose the rights to them." So you sign them and then lose the first year of their contract once it hits July 1.
SI Staff Riz Remes Posted April 6, 2015 SI Staff Share Posted April 6, 2015 Players signed to entry level deals near the end of the season were not triggering the sliding of the contract, but that has now been fixed for the next update.
