Andy J 82
Hi, Not a moan - that's why it's a beta - but as we've got this for the next couple of weeks could anyone give any pointers to reduce the impact of the issue with width.. I've tried quite a few formations and the most stable seems to be a flat back 5, 2 CM, 2 attacking wingers and 1 CF. It's still a bit temperamental and have quite a mixed bag of results.. --------GK------- RB CD CD CD LB ------------------ -----CM CM ----- RW-----------LW --------CF------- Is there anything I can do to help tighten up at full-back to keep this going without totally losing my attacking threat? Thanks!
drmanley
With 5 at the back playing wider will reduce space for opp wingers while not leaving too much space through the middle. Choosing a narrower pitch size would also help.
Andy J 82
I'm at full width for team settings - I've tried just now to put the fullbacks to hug touchline.. any other advice?
drmanley
Only other thing I'd suggest is having your wingers mark the oppo wide midfielders and set your full backs to zonal. This should result in your wide players (fb & Aml/r) "double banking" the oppo wingers. Will leave you quite deep though when you win the ball back. See how that works and if it stops the wide players you could probably move a cb forward. Hope this helps.
Andy J 82
So that did seem to slightly tighten up at the full backs but still conceded 1 goal that way + 1 through the centre.. very lacking going forwards now so I'll keep tinkering from there. Thanks for the help
chelpars
As crazy as it sounds, I've been playing with both fullbacks and wing backs this has totally sorted out the crossing problem for me. Play with a sweeper and a centre back as well, then you can still have 4 attacking players.
adam118
Crosses are crazy on this. I seem to score and concede most of my goals from a cross. The defense on both sides seem useless.
