  1. Any interesting teams in the Balkans? I played with Banik Ostrava in Czech last year and it was great. Looking for something similar. Tips on which countries to load? I have though about Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech.

Some rules i'm thinking about is only eastern europe players since it is too easy to buy from africa and sell on.

  2. Is RB Salzburg a good starting team? I like their tranfers strategy in real life but I am doubtful it the league is fun a few years in when you have clearly outgrown the league or am I wrong?

What other teams are there that can compare to them in their philosophy about developing players and searching the smaller markets for findings? Benfica, Ajax etc seems a notch over that and buy players from another shelf.

  3. 4th season is over and it's a double again! The Eredivisie sorted itself when Ajax form dipped and we was knocked out of Europe. Europe is still something were whe have not been good att all. The offensive tactic is not well balanced there but no surprise. I choose to resign after the season as I felt that there not so much fun in staying and trying to poach to the few players we could get from BeNeLux. Those players could never replace Esposito, Diogo Leite, Nascimento etc.

Esposito improved his scoring this year and ended with 29 goals in 32 matches. This means that he ended on a total of 107 goals in 112 matches in total. Incredible.

Soares got a knee injuri and missed half of the season. That was very boring for the save as well as he was my biggest star in works. It is probably going to mess with his physique unfortunatly.

  4. I played with Velez on FM20 and I stumbled over a possible problem. Since I only loaded the South American leagues and no big leagues in Europe I did not get almost any bid for my best players which made the whole team a luxury problem after a few seasons. I only got a very few bid which was big under bids as well that I did not accept. With all that talent coming thru I made it quite boring to choose between selling the best players very very cheap or have a too big squad. Have you experienced anything similar?

that's what I have done. But honestly even if you only raid the best U18 talents from every club in the Netherlands every year, you will build a really, really good team. Add Belgium on top of that, and you can win the UCL potentially.

Yeah I know but I don't think i'm going to stay that long at Groningen but maybe. It is still to much fun to search for the perfect talents to have crazy recruitment rules. Will have to see how the save turns out. I'm not going to sell all foreigners right away, i'm going to phase them out naturally is my plan.

  6. The season started of with a crazy game in the supercup. Esposito still proving he's way too good for this league.

To keep my interest in staying in Groningen I have changed my transfer focus to BeNeLux and free signings only, the free ones can still be from anywhere. To keep it somewhat interesting instead of searching South America and Portugal for every talent there is like I've done until now. Especially now when the economy is blooming and paying £1-3M for a talent is nothing when the transfer budget is £51M after selling some players.

Well done, that's a great effort! Soares looks phenomenal. Surprised that Inter are continuing to send Esposito out.

Thank you! This season fealt worse then the table says. Probably because of some bad beatings in europe. Trying to decide if I should stay at Groningen or search for some new adventure. Yeah, initially they said that they were going to use him in their team but I raised my bid a bit and then they accepted.

  8. 3rd season over with Groningen and it went very well. Won both Eredivisie and TOTO KNVB Beker. Won the league with one match to spare after PSV collapsed. In Europa League I got demolished by Arsenal with 0-4 in the Second knockout round. I really hope for a decent CL group next year.

The team stats for the season. Esposito was too good for the League once again and despite some injuries he scored 26 goals in 28 matches. Somehow I managed to get him on loan for a third season as well. Robben is retireing after the season and did not play as much this season, mostly because of injuries. Soares in now one of the best players in the league. It's going to be a big summer in sells I believe.

  9. I´m also playing with Groningen. I am currently in season 3 sitting in 4th place after 5 games. Finished 7th in the first season and 4th second season but won the cup so I got to the playoff for Europa League. In the playoff i won over CFR Cluj quite easy but then I got drawn in a group with Arsenal, Celtic and Fenerbache so i'm not so hopeful of the upcoming matches.

Current squad after selling Gudmundsson on deadline day. I also accepted a bid for over £30M for Poll but he denied it.

I have loaned in Esposito two seasons in a row now and he is incredible. 28 goals in 28 matches last season!

My biggest talent is João Paulo Soares. He probably going to be great. A steal when i bought him from Vitoria de Guimares for £1M.

Having some motivation problems right now. Probably because the Europa League group. I don't know what to do but I want to change things up somehow. Maybe a formation change or i'm resigning and taking over a smaller team.

    SC BASTIA 20/21 SEASON 1

Profile at start and season preview

    Season 1 20/21

League finished 7th and quite satisfied with that. Had some slumps in the middle with 7 or 8 games without a win. Hoping to be more consistent next year.

Squad Had the top scorer and assist in the league in my team with Da Silva with 18 goals and Salles-Lamonge with 12 assists. Very inconsistent players and quite old core of the team. Trying to incorperate som youngsters to next season.

Transfers One signing happened before i got in charge.  I have lost one big talent to AJ Auxerre to next season but he has a "unambitious" personality so not something to cry over. I've had several bid at some talents but somehow my board accepted but then a could cancel the sell at the end anyway. Toulouse are chasing my biggest talent Henri Galibardi in the off-season.

Finances I'm still in the positive zone. I turned professional after the season so that might be a big impact on next seasons result.

Youth intake a decent first intake with the brightest star in Frédéric Ridel. I don´t play with a DM so i'll try to make him a BBM i think. I also have some decent regens from the first season when I was not i charge.

  11. I'd probably keep the players in Jong Ajax until they are too good för the Eerste divisie and then try to loan them out to teams in the Eredivisie or similiar status until they are competing for a place in the 1st team. The ability to play a lot of 1st team games seems to be very important to develop players even if it's in a lower league. So i'd probably try to keep the Jon squad quite small and loan out the players i'm not sure gonna make the cut later on.

Do anyone use any set of transfer rules in their save? I'm trying to think out a few that are Ajax-compatible but the transfers have been mixed the latest seasons IRL. Young domestic, old and experienced, South american talents and some from Scandinavia.

I'm more leaning towards something like:
    -Scandinavian u-21
    -Domestic talents
    -Raid Dutch and Belgian leagues
-Put a max cap at 2/3 talents from South America/Africa

ıf you lookıng for big teams red star belgrade partizan dinamo rijeka hajduk seems nice and also u can make your own stars and make a glory attempt at european cups.U wıll win the league most lıkely but euro is something else for these teams.I have a dınamo save very good save for now

Yeah I have looked at all these teams but not found anything that made them stand out from each other. Might just pick a team and go with it then.

  13. I'm looking for a team, big or small were i'm going to focus on youngsters and the players nationality is the same as the club. England feels quite diffucult to keep only english players in but might be an interesting challenge. Germanys rule about not playing u-17 is quite boring I believe. Maybe some smaller country? I have thought about AZ or Ajax from reading about them in this thread but i'm not hooked yet.

    Any ideas?

  14. I have had great success with Hammarby, going to Quarter Final in CL with mostly scandinavians, my best players were Victor Kristiansen, Mattias Jakobsen, Nils Fröling, Jeppe Höjbjerg, Isak Jansson, Isak Magnusson, Isac Harrysson. With the first two I have rejected bids for 30M Euros from Premier League.

Some other good players from Sweden is: Anel Mujanic, Tim Prica, Dennis Collander, Isak Pettersson.
