Also just to confirm, you have managed to solve the problem by launching FM24 from the IGE Store page? Is this 100% reproducible?

    Hi Jimmy,

Just to update, I verified the files via steam and have continued to try and load the game a few times each from the desktop icon and via the IGE page on Steam and same results. I have to use the IGE page for the IGE to be active in the game - that does work reliably when done so.

I haven't tested making any changes through the IGE though.

Do you have the ticket number so we can check for you?

    Hi Jimmy,

    Ticket #654848

I've had success 2 out of 2 occasions using the IGE store page to launch with IGE active. If I launch from the FM24 shortcut on my desktop it doesn't work.

    Thanks

  3. Hi,

Playing on mac. I've searched the bug tracker but there doesn't seem to be any answers.

I noticed a few weeks ago that the Steam overlay wasn't working (i.e. press shift & tab) and nothing would happen. Steam and FM both fully up to date.

I bought the in-game editor today and started a new game with the editor allowed but it is greyed out.

Does anyone have a solution at all? Or can I get my money back?

When I go to FM > Downloads, I get this error:

Not really cause they can just sell him at worst case scenario at a loss. The fantastic talent that he is even if he flops at chelsea am sure someone will want him at a decent transfer fee.

Well the loss itself is a risk.

Sure they could sell him in 3 years time for £5m to someone, but Chelsea might not be in a position to afford to book that loss. They're also liable for his wages for the period. So definitely still a risk.

There will also be an annual loyalty payment - but that will become liable upon the termination of his contract and that's another cost to Chelsea.

    Assuming they can close it.

The 'loophole' (if you want to describe it that way) is relevant to UK working laws, so unless UEFA has the power to override UK laws, then I find it hard to see how UEFA can achieve this.

Within UEFA rules, it already states that contracts can be no longer than 5 years, unless relevant country laws says otherwise. As far as I'm aware, UK laws don't impose a max number of years for a contract, so therefore, Chelsea can offer as long of a contract as they want.

A longer contract increases Chelsea's risk at a certain point.

UEFA's plan is to add a rule within FFP that will only allow transfer fees to be spread over 5 years for accounting purposes. So if you offer an 8 year contract, the transfer fee can only be spread over the first 5 years for FFP. The last 3 will have £0 transfer value attributed in the accounts.

Enzo as an example, if he flops, Chelsea are tied into his wages for 8+ years anyway.

  6. Raised this as an issue in FM22, think it might have carried onto this version - but don't have the news item anymore to post as a bug - so wondered if anyone noticed anything similar.

I requested a stadium improvement and new stadium from the board at the same time. They rejected the improvement request but accepted the new stadium request.

I'm now a couple of months down the line so the news item has gone, but it's not showing on my history of board requests, but the rejected stadium improvement request is.

I can also not request either again yet.

Is this still an issue on this version?

  7. Not just transfer budget, but I would like to see a feature where we can get an idea of the owners financial approach (i.e. looking at Man Utd now - all the supporters want is an owner who will come in and clear debts to make the club sustainable) - so it would be an interesting feature to see if an owners financial approach (e.g. conservative where they lean towards sustainability, selling key players/young talent etc. or risk takers who will take bank loans/other investment in an effort to move the club up leagues or increase their reputation etc)

  8. I've had a few news articles recently where PSG have been sending a scout to watch one of my players, obviously trying to unsettle him - but I've noticed when I've sent scouts to watch players I haven't seen any news articles like that (and I've had my Chief Scout/DoF watching players for 10+ games in one season).

Do I need to declare interest in them publicly or take another step to trigger those articles to my benefit?

  9. Does anybody know if there is a way (other than adding transfer embargo’s to loads of clubs) to ban all transfers?

I think it would be an interesting game if everyone was forced to rely on their academy and/or free transfers.

imagine it would also do a world of good for club finances

I was under the impression that if an expansion gets blocked, it means the ground is already at the maximum capacity defined in the database. Things night have changed now though, might be worth loading up the editor and looking at the ground in the pregame DB.

I think you lose the option to even request it from the board if you're at max capacity.

I had same issue as OP before and council relented after 4 years.

  11. I try and keep it simple.

If I haven't scored the most goals in the league - I'm looking at forwards and creative players to replace what I have.

If I haven't conceded the least - I'm looking at GK, defence and defensive midfielders.

Other than that, I'm looking at money spinners and depth players- either good players with a few years left in the tank that have expiring/expired deals, or young players I can offer some game time/development to and spin off at a profit (or use to replace someone in the team as they age).

As an example, I picked up Zakaria and Zagadou on frees in Season 2 or 3 and sold both on for around £25m, netting me a £50m profit in 12 months for two players who accepted contracts as squad players.

  12. Ignore it. If you don't sell Bayern will eventually find another target and the player will either pursue a move elsewhere or he'll give up and agree to stay.

From an AI perspective, I've seen Kimpembe go on and off the transfer list at PSG 3 times in the last 2 seasons, so just do your best to keep him happy. He's on a long-term deal now so you won't really be forced to sell him for another 2 years during which time you should find a window at which he'll renew his deal.

However, if he really really pushes to leave, you run the risk of having the price driven down by him disrupting your whole squad.

  13. Is there a way to see them after the time has run out?

I've had 2 or 3 players reject promises about playing time this season, saying I've broken promises for other players before. I don't think I have - but I can't see old promises to see if any were missed.

    Any ideas?

  14. What's the largest number of scouts you have managed to employ?

I'm in Season 2 with Man Utd - and I have 29 scouts, but I'm only allowed 16.

I'm keen to reshuffle my scouting team but I don't want to lose a third of my scouting team size and all their knowledge as I'll probably replace them with whoever has the best stats (regardless of world knowledge) and take some time to build it back up - and I have a long, long list of outstanding scouting assignments.

I have asked the board for more scouts and they consistently refuse.

So, I'm just looking for a rough number from other players so I can decide whether it's worth holding out to try and increase the number I can keep, or whether to just bite the bullet and reduce to 16.

  15. Hows your debt situation now, 2 years on? Have you seen the club use lump sums of cash reserves to clear debt? Have the owners changed?

Looks to me like you have a board keen to maintain a sustainable club after some serious penalties and the outlay for brand new training facilities for a PL Club (which I've never done in the game but imagine is very pricey) is out reach still.

  16. I’ve just met a players release clause, but want him to join at the end of the season instead of during January.

There’s no expiry on the clause, and the contract runs for another 2 seasons, so presumably they should have to accept the bid - but if I don’t go with the next available date for transfer they’re able to reject the bid.

    Is this correct?

Paying full £15m fee up front so no clauses that could drag it out
