LB - FB Support/Attack - a bit more conservative on this side as the wide midfielder are more attacking players so they are less capable of helping out defensively

"LW - Winger Attack - I like the WM role and would probably use it on both sides but my primary right winters are more suited to this role, and it tends to work very well"

Confusing; you say wide midfielder but have a winger on attack?

    RB - WB Attack

RW - WM-Attack - I have a more rounded player here so this side contributes a bit as a whole

Seems to me that this side is wide open with two player on attack duty?

  2. How do you predict Antonio Conte to lineup Chelsea next season? 4-2-4 as he used at Bari, 3-5-2 as in Juventus to fit Pirlo's playmaking skills.

Flexible seems to be Conte's style of play they say...

    Any ideas/inputs on this?

(Manchester United will sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic and could complete deal before Euro 2016 - Sky sources)

  3. Thank you :).

I don't have any plans for a 41DM221 at present, although I do have 2 x 4231 systems currently on the go (one using a deep 4231 at DM/MC, the other using the MC/AMC lines).

I won't be doing a full write up on them, although one is mentioned from post 119 here http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/445500-The-Art-of-Possession-Football/page2 (a possession based system), and the other from post 45 in this thread http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/444680-The-Art-of-Counter-Attacking (a counter attacking system).

Both those systems extensively use the principles laid out by Cleon in the OP of both threads.

Mind sharing those two tactics? and this 4-4-2 ;)

  4. Is it even possible to play a 4-2-3-1 this year? Deep or wide...

My team is Chelsea and there's material to play a 4-2-3-1 but every team I'm up against plays the **** out of me! For real? Yes some say, irl teams do that I know but wft?

I don't use some fancy setup with loads of player roles/duties, just a simple setup. I must say the ME is crap all over, crosses like never before and the name should be "hoofball manager". Defenders acting like a chicken on speed, pressing all over the place. Well i'll stop here, so my question is does anyone have a balanced 4-2-3-1 or at least can show me one? Cheers ;)

  5. Has anybody used a tactic without any attacking duties? As for Chelsea, this is my current setup;

    TacticalOverview.png

Roles and Duties: (assistants reports of B Pos, B Role, B Duty)

Courtois: GK-D (Goalkeeper - Defend) none

Ivanovic: FB-Auto (Limited Full Back - Defend) shoot less often, dribble less, hold position, fewer risky passes, cross less often

Cahill: CD-D (Limited Defender - Defend) more direct passes

Terry: CD-D (Central Defender - Stopper) close down more

Azpilicueta: WB-Auto (Wingback - Defend) hold position, fewer risky passes, cross from deep

Fabregas: CM-S (Advanced Playmaker - Support) shoot less often, dribble more, more risky passes

Matic: CM-D (Ancorman - Defend) shoot less often, dribble less, fewer risky passes

Pedro: W-S or A? (Raumdeuter - Attack) roam from position, pass it shorter, sit narrower (changed role to IF-A)

Oscar: AM-S (Advanced Playmaker - Support) shoot less often, dribble more, hold position, more risky passes

Hazard: IF-S (Inside Forward - Support) none

Costa: DLF-S or CF-S? (Defensive Forward - Defend) close down more, tackle harder, hold position, fewer risky passes (changed role to TM-S)

I'm thinking of a tactic without any specialist roles at all but with PI's try to make them like they have.

Is this possible and a good idea you think? Inputs please.

    Cheers ;)

  6. Play the Chelsea way or Mourinho way which seems to be hard. He uses like a hybrid of all types of play these days, contain, counter and control. Don't think he plays very attacking to be honest. Possession, yes. Compact, yes. Counter, yes. Attacks will come naturally of all that maybe? Ivanovic is a complete wingback but is awesome in every aspect of play I think, Azpi is more defending, center half's I don't know really. Fabregas is a dlp or a roaming pm, matic is a combo of cm defend and bwm defend and even a dlp defend sometimes. The three amigos behind Costa is a hard nut to crack and even find a suitable role for Costa is...

I'm open to suggestions and tips.
