Appreciate the quick response and the offer of help. I have IGE enabled but theres no way to change staff numbers from what I can see, only forcing certain individuals to join your club as staff. It would take quite a few seasons to manually request the board to increase staff up to the numbers I had and I don't want to use the IGE every season to hire new staff with no contract negotiations as well as just guess when i wouldve been granted more staff numbers then I originally had. Might just start a new career or play something else until this is fixed as its kinda destroying development in my youth intake only save.

Is there potentially any other workaround to this issue? In the same boat at the moment and retiring causes a mass staff exodus and resets the allowed staff numbers to very low numbers upon rejoining, as well as ruining stats and a myriad of other things

Over the past two seasons I have been promoted to the top tier league in Portugal, as well as qualifying for a place in the Europa league. I have recently been automatically given a U23 team without any prompt to decline (assuming this is to do with increase in youth level or as a requirement for promotion/continental football). As a result of lacking financial room and having a very small squad in that age bracket I have decided to leave the U23 team completely empty of both staff and players so it would have little to no impact on the club. However, the problem is that the U23 automatically got drawn into an U23 league, and as the squad is empty, it is automatically taking players from my U19 squad every match, causing them to play way too many matchs (3+ a week sometimes). As players under 18 benefit more from training than games, as well as the very high increase in injuries because of the insane match schedule, this is causing major deevelopment problems for my youth. As I can see there is currently no option in-game to restrict U19 players from playing in my U23 squad. The only bandaid fix I have found is moving my entire youth team into my senior squad and making them unavailable for U23 but available for U19 games, but this is also having a negative impact on development as they are missing training whenever my senior team plays, as well as just not having as efficient a training schedule for developing as they would in my U19 squad. Has anyone else encoutered this problem and found a way around it without having to sign a bunch of players to fill out the U23 roster for no reason, as this is currently not a financial possiblity as I am already above my wage limit.
