  1. SEASON 2039/2040 Another intense season after the one with Manchester City. After the English adventure we fly to Spain to Villarreal. LIGA In the championship we were protagonists in a race until the last day, point to point with Barcelona, winning by two points, 95 vs. 93. EUROPA LEAGUE In the European competition, the Europa League, we barely reach the round of 16, where we are eliminated by Sporting Lisbon due to the 2-0 win for the Portuguese in the first leg. COPA DEL REY Finally, we came to the Copa del Rey, which we won almost with ease, defeating opponents within our reach and then facing Barcelona in the final, beating them 2-1.
  2. 2038/2039 Eventually, after a long wander around, we arrive at what is probably the best team in the world: Manchester City, a club that is very strong both financially and in terms of individuals. PREMIER LEAGUE In the Premier League, as in all the other competitions, there is little possibilità for the others: we score 103 points with 111 (111!) goals scored, a frightening scoreline that puts us +20 ahead of Liverpool in second place. CARABAO CUP & FA CUP Few chances for the others also in the two national competitions that we won both in the final against Liverpool, with frightening results (4-1 and 4-0) that closed the best season of our career. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE The path is clear even in the Champions League where, after arriving second in the championship phase at -2 from the first PSG, we eliminate Aston Villa in the English derby, Juventus in the quarter-finals, Lens, the great surprise of the competition, in the semifinals, and then knock out reigning champion Barcelona in the final, winning 2-0 the first Champions League of our career.
  3. 2038 WORLD CUP, IVORY COAST After signing for Côte d'Ivoire at the end of May, within a few days we had to immediately prepare for the upcoming World Cup, which will see us in the group with Paraguay, Netherlands and Cuba. Our competition starts a bit uphill, with a very close draw against Paraguay. Afterwards, however, we flew on the wings of enthusiasm, obtaining six points against Holland, beaten 2-1, and Cuba, beaten 4-1. In the second round, or round of 16 as we like to call it, we met Nigeria in an African derby, which we won in a daring manner with even a 6-5 final in extra time. In the round of 16, again in extra time, we also unbelievably eliminated Uruguay, winning 3-2 after having been upended in regulation time from 2-0 down. In the quarter-finals, we continued our journey, eliminating another South American team, Chile, who, however, played with ten men for more than half the match. Our path is interrupted in the semifinals against the defending champions, England, who literally destroy us, winning 5-0 and going on to confirm themselves as world champions. We also lose the final for third place, for what it's worth, 4-3 against Portugal.
  4. SEASON 2037/2038 It is our third season in Germany at the helm of Koln, and it is a season in which we spend a lot, thanks in part to high-level disposals, to strengthen the team and aim for titles. BUNDESLIGA In the championship we are perfect: despite a combative Bayern in the middle part of the season, we hold out and win the title with two matches to spare, a season to be framed. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE We do just as well in the Champions League in the championship phase but then, having reached the round of 16, we lose to Inter, who will go all the way to the final, also due to some injuries that make us arrive at the challenge in a precarious condition. DFB POKAL On the other hand, we also had a great victory in the DFB Pokal, where we crushed every opponent until we reached an out-of-the-blue final where we went down and then overturned it in the dying minutes, scoring in the 95th and 96th minutes and beating Borussia Dortmund.
  5. SEASON 2036/2037 After a good second half in the first season, we reach our second season at the helm of Koln, our first full one. BUNDESLIGA The season proves to be very difficult, especially in the championship. We risk being sacked more than once, repeatedly saving ourselves by the skin of our teeth. We finish seventh, albeit minus four from the Champions zone, without ever really being in the running in the decisive phase of the championship. The summit is exactly thirty points away. DFB POKAL The DFB Pokal also goes badly, where we have a fair amount of bad luck. After a large 4-0 victory in the first round against Heimstetten, we have a hard time getting through the second round, where we have an unlucky draw by being drawn immediately with Herta Berlin. Despite the two victories, it will be the third round that will be fatal for us, going out on penalties against Wolfsburg, seeing two goals cancelled in the 120 minutes. EUROPA LEAGUE What saves us and prevents the first exoneration of our career is the Europa League, which we manage to win in an unexpected way. After a somewhat fluctuating league phase, we confidently beat AZ Alkmaar and Olympique Marseille. The challenge that sends us into the final is the most difficult one, where we face Liverpool, overcoming the disadvantage suffered at Anfield in the home match on the return leg. Then at the Groupama Stadium we closed the file, winning the competition against Porto, saving our bench and even qualifying for the Champions League.
  6. SEASON 2035/36 After leaving South America as winners, we landed for the first time in our careers in Europe, at the helm of Koln, a team of great quality but stuck in mid-table. We sign with the German club in January 2036, finding ourselves with two competitions to play, Bundesliga and Champions League, while the team was already eliminated in the DFB Pokal. BUNDESLIGA We manage to climb several places, earning a decent and almost never in doubt qualification for the Europa League. For some stretches we cultivate the dream of qualification for the next Champions League, but it turns out to be really impossible to achieve it, due to the gap with Herta Berlin. Fifth place at minus seven, however, remains an excellent basis on which to build for next season. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE There are just four matches in our first Champions League adventure: two in the league phase and two in the playoffs to reach the round of 16. The debut in the top competition is anything but positive as we literally succumb in Madrid, at home to Atletico, 4-0. The second match against Qarabag went better, which saw us triumph in Baku 2-0 and reach qualification at least for the playoffs. Nothing to do, however, in the playoff round, where we beat Manchester City in the first leg, winning 2-1 in Germany, only to lose 4-1 at the Etihad.
  7. SEASON 2034 Third season in Argentina at the helm of Atletico Tucuman, with the goal of finally winning the Copa Libertadores and making it to Europe. LIGA PROFESIONAL We got off to a great start in the championship, with an even better rhythm than last season, but then in the long run we dropped in the regular season, finding ourselves fifth, minus fifteen from the leader, which this season is Talleres. The round also saw us perform poorly, finishing fourth at minus six but showing little interest as we reached the final stages of the Copa Libertardores. In the knockout phase we narrowly but deservedly won the quarter-finals against Tigre and then destroyed Talleres in the semi-finals by beating them 5-1. As in the first year, however, it was Banfield who were fatal to us, beating us 2-1 in the final and winning the title. COPA ARGENTINA Our Copa Argentina lasted very little, although we faced it as defending champions. After beating Argentinos Juniors 2-0 in the sixth round, in the seventh round we met San Lorenzo who defeated us with the same result. SUPERCOPA ARGENTINA AND SUDAMERICANA The two Super Cups saw us triumph in a big way, defeating Flamengo in the South American Supercopa on penalties after a double 2-2 draw and River, again on penalties after a 2-2 draw, in the Argentine Supercopa. COPA LIBERTADORES The Copa Libertardores is the greatest joy of our season. In the round we had five victories and one defeat, easily overcoming Libertad, Audax Italiano and Sporting Crystal. The clashes were difficult from the start, as in the second round we faced Penarol, whom we beat with luck 5-4 on aggregate, with a pyrotechnic 4-3 in our favour in the return. Our eternal challenge with Banfield continues in the quarters, where we win 5-2 on aggregate, eliminating our rivals. The semi-final is against the Brazilians of Internacional, a tough challenge that we win thanks to a fabulous return match that we win 3-0 after the defeat in Brazil. The final sees penalties smile on us again, winning the title against Santos after the 1-1 draw in regulation time.
  8. WORLD CUP UPDATE 2034 The first update also arrives for the national team. We are recruited at the end of 2032 by Sweden and, after a poor Nations League, we make a good World Cup qualification that sees us go into the World Cup as runners-up in the group. Although seemingly simple, with Tunisia, Venezuela and India, the round turned out to be more difficult than expected and we overcame it as first but only on goal difference, finishing tied on points with Tunisia and Venezuela. In the second round, or the round of sixteenths as we like to call it, we pull off a feat, overthrowing Japan, who had taken the lead in the first half, in ten. The feat, however, failed again in the round of 16, where we only managed to take England into extra time, who from 100 minutes onwards went on the rampage. The English national team would eventually be the winners of the World Cup, with the coveted cup 'coming home' after so long.
  9. SEASON 2034 It is a very full season between club and national team the second one we face in Argentina, at the helm of Atletico Tucuman. Starting with the market, where we are very active and reinforce the team enormously with the right mix of young and experienced players to make an assault on the title and improve our performance, which last year saw us finish in the semi-finals of the knockout phase. LIGA PROFESIONAL We had a good regular season which, with ups and downs, saw us occupy third place, just six points behind first-placed Banfield and minus four behind River Plate. With 75 points, we can consider ourselves fully satisfied before advancing to the second phase. In the Copa de La Liga round we finish first, never in doubt, scoring four points more than River and winning the round two days in advance, allowing us to field reserves in the last games. In the knockout phase we were even more infeasible, winning 5-3 in the quarters against Velez, even 7-1 against Racing in the semi-finals and 2-0 taking our revenge against Banfield in the final. COPA SUDAMERICANA Ours is also a clear path in the Copa Sudamericana, where we first won the round with 16 points out of 18 against Fortaleza, Blooming, a Bolivian club, and Uruguayans Danubio. With eighteen goals scored and only three conceded, our qualification is never really in doubt. In the second round we faced Independiente del Valle, who made things more difficult for us than expected but whom we still managed to beat 5-4 on aggregate despite losing 2-1 in the return leg. The same fate befell Cruzeiro, whom we beat 4-3, winning the return leg 3-2, and Belgrano in the semi-finals, who, after a 1-1 draw in the first leg, we literally destroyed in the return leg, defeating them 8-0. In the final we won the tournament on penalties, beating Cuiabá after a 2-2 draw in the first 120 minutes. COPA ARGENTINA Finally, let's look at the Copa Argentina. We start immediately in the fifth round, where we win 4-1 against Lujan. In the sixth round we immediately have a difficult task, being drawn against Lanus, which we manage to overcome by a narrow margin, winning 2-1. Equally difficult is the seventh round, where we still win against River, 2-0. The complicated path continued first against River, whom we beat on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the 120 minutes, and then against Independiente in the semi-finals, where we won 3-2. Paradoxically, the easiest match was the final, where we won 2-0 in ease against San Martin, in the derby of Tucuman.
  10. Hi guys, I have a question about the argentinian league. To win the league title, should i win in the knockout stage at the end of the season or being top of the tale after the 'regular season'?
  11. SEASON 2033 We leave the United States in a hurry after the success in the Champions League, going a few, relatively, kilometres away, to Argentina. We take the helm of Atletico Tucuman late in the season, around May, having to revive a good team in great difficulty, even in 25th place. LIGA PROFESIONAL DE FUTBOL The first of the three competitions we look at is the championship, which is divided into the regular season and the second phase, consisting of a first part with a fourteen-team group and a second with a knockout phase. In the regular part we raise the team slightly, climbing six places to nineteenth. In the group stage, we qualified for the knockout phase, finishing third with nine wins and five losses in fourteen matches. In the quarter-finals we won 2-1 against Barracas Central thanks to Watson's double, qualifying for the semi-finals. However, it went badly for us in the semifinals, where we met Banfield, a team that was really too strong for us. It ended 4-1 for our opponents, and so we were eliminated. COPA SUDAMERICANA In the Copa Sudamericana we also arrive in the running, and we do a good job. Our first match, by far, is the first leg of the quarter-final against Santos, where we pass thanks to the return match, where with a clear 3-1 we overcome our opponents after the 0-0 first leg. More difficult is the semi-final clash against another Brazilian team, Botafogo, which we manage to eliminate thanks to a 4-2 first leg victory, despite suffering incredibly in the 1-0 return defeat. In the final, however, our dream was shattered, with the victory, once again, of Banfield, who beat us 4-2. COPA ARGENTINA AXION ENERGY Finally, let's talk about the Copa Argentina, where we once again reached the final. In the seventh round, the first we played, we beat Patronato 3-0. We then beat Nueva Chicago 1-0 in the quarters. We beat Union SF 5-3 in the semifinals. In the final we lost again, but this time not to Banfield but to Gimnasia La Plata, who beat us 3-0. We also took charge of Sweden national team, and qualified to the World Cup. After the tournament in the next season i will make a recap of that, too.
  12. SEASON 2032 Our second season in MLS begins, in which we face as defending champions after last year's great victory. MLS In the regular season, we are doing much worse than last season. A setback also due to a complicated market due to regulations. We finish in sixth place, six points from the top, in a fairly quiet manner anyway. In the playoffs we literally destroy Philadelphia, whom we beat 5-1. In the semifinals we won on penalties, beating Montreal 6-5 after the 2-2 draw in 120 minutes. It was the extra time that doomed us in the final, being defeated 2-1 by Atlanta United. LEAGUES CUP The Leagues Cup lasted just one game for us, with elimination in the quarter-finals against the Vancouver Whitecaps, who beat us 2-1. CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE In the Champions League, we started off on the right foot, outscoring Atletico San Luis 6-4 in the first round. The same fate befell Santos Laguna, whom we beat 6-4, thanks mainly to the 2-0 win in the first leg. The most difficult match of all is the one in the semifinal, against Monterrey, which we beat only on penalties in the return leg, after a 1-1 double. The US derby against Colorado, finally, was the one that gave us the cup, with a 2-0 win signed by Steven Moon's two goals, a three-goal striker from Saint Louis. US OPEN CUP A less positive fate has the US Open Cup, where. Everywhere we started well, beating Orlando City in a pyrotechnic challenge that ended 5-4. We then narrowly beat Tampa Bay 1-0 and on penalties the LA Galaxy in the quarter-finals. Our dream was shattered in the semifinals, where we were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Austin FC. CAMPEONES CUP Finally, honourable mention for the Campeones Cup, where we faced Santos Laguna, beating them 2-1. 13. SEASON 2030/2031 PART 2 After having closed our cycle in Australia, we fly to America, where we take over the leadership of Inter Miami, a team of high quality which, however, has failed to capitalise in recent seasons. MLS Obviously, we arrive in the United States in the middle of the season since in the States the start is in January. We start immediately with a crazy victory against Philadelphia, winning 4-3 after going down 3-0. In five months at the helm of Inter Miami we only managed four defeats, including just two in the regular season. From fourth place which was the team when I arrived, we finish the season in first place in the eastern conference, plus three from second, and we score less points, just one less, than only one team Austin FC. In the playoffs, the team that scares us the most is the one we face in the first round, with a Columbus team that, after losing the first round, wins the return and forces us to play the play-off, which we easily win. In the semifinals we literally destroyed Cincinnati, smashing them with a net 7-0. The final of the eastern conference playoffs we won by a narrow margin, 1-0, thanks to the goal of ex-Venice player Gianluca Busio. The final against the winner of the western conference was decided in extra time, where we triumphed over Austin FC, winning 2-1 thanks to the decisive goal by Urbina, a young outside player from the Inter Miami youth team. LEAGUES CUP In the national cup we don't have a chance to perform as Inter Miami was eliminated before my arrival, but in the continental cup we achieve another joy, winning the Leagues Cup. After coming through the group as runners-up, with all three teams tied but going ahead thanks to a better goal difference than Nashville, we beat Colorado in the western quarter-finals on penalty kicks. In the semifinals we beat the Mexicans of Chivas, winning 4-1. The final, surprisingly, was against Real Salt Lake, whom we beat 2-0 thanks to goals from Marinho and Morales. We thus reached the playoffs, where our first rival was Queretaro, whom we beat 2-1. We then reached the final, against the fearsome Pumas, who surprisingly, given the unfavourable odds, we beat 4-2. 14. SEASON 2030/2031 After last season's double victory, which saw us triumph in the cup and championship, our third season in Australia begins. A season in which, after many reinforcements, above all Marcus Thuram, we will go on the assault in the AFC Champions League. AUSTRALIA CUP In the Australia Cup, despite a great start, we stop at the quarter-finals, against Adelaide United. In the first round we eliminated the Peninsula Power 4-0, thanks to Thuram's double and goals from Pritchard and O'Grady-Macken. We do the same with a clear 6-0 win against Avondale, without any difficulty. It was Adelaide United, who then won the competition, who eliminated us, as mentioned earlier: our opponents won 2-1 thanks to goals from Mijalovic and Tilio. ISUZU UTE-A LEAGUE In the league we are literally perfect, both in the regular season and in the finals. In the regular season we have a record-breaking championship, breaking records for wins, goals and points, winning 21 games and drawing five in 26 total. In the finals we win the tournament, first eliminating Melbourne City 5-2 on aggregate, and then Adelaide United, avenging their cup defeat by beating them 3-2 in extra time. AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE In the Champions League we go directly into the group stage, where we meet Beijing, Jeonbuk and Port. We score a total of 10 points, the same as Beijing, passing the round as first thanks to goal difference. In the second round we met Ulsan, whom we beat in total 5-3, with a 2-1 first leg and a 3-2 return. In the quarter-finals we needed only a 2-1 double to overcome the Thais of Buiram United. It was also an easy job in the semi-finals, where the 4-2 first leg was enough to overcome Shonan, with whom we drew 1-1 in the return leg. It was in the final that the real feat came, with a 2-2 draw in the first leg against Al Nassr, a team whose players included Isak, Kessié and Kimmich, and a 2-1 win in the return that crowned us champions. 15. SEASON 2029/2030 Second season in Australia, the first that will see us participate in the Asian Champions. The feeling ahead of this season is good: the team has grown and got used to the form, making us competitive on all fronts. That is how we have fared. AUSTRALIA CUP In the Australia Cup we do as well as we can, routing every opponent. In the first round we beat the Western Sydney Wanderers 3-0, then repeated in the second round against the Wellington Phoenix, in one of the most fearsome matches of the competition. In the quarter-finals we needed extra time to triumph, beating Melbourne City 3-1. It was overtime again that helped us in the semi-finals, with a 4-2 victory over the Newcastle Jets. The time came for the grand final and at the Western Sydney Stadium there was no history: 4-0 thanks to goals from Fitzgerald, Laws, Irving and Amanatidis and the first competition win of the season. ISUZU UTE-A LEAGUE In the league, we had a very up and down season in the regular season, going from a convincing first place to a second place far from the top, with a disastrous finish full of defeats. In the Finals we turn things around, beating Adelaide United in the semi-finals, beating them 4-1 in the first leg and drawing 1-1 in the return. The final saw us take on the regular season winners, the Wellington Phoenix, who we beat on penalties after a thrilling comeback in regulation time. After going down 3-1 in regulation time we found the 3-3 draw in the 82nd minute, and even in extra time we had the strength to regain parity after our opponents' third lead of the match. In the penalty shoot-out we do well, and we also triumph in the championship, after the final we lost last year. AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE In the Champions League we easily advance to the group stage, beating Abahani KC and Kawasaki-Frontale by a wide margin. In the group stage we came second, behind Tosu, scoring fifteen points against the Japanese team, Shandong and Yadanarbon. It was Tosu that we found ourselves against in the second round, beating them 4-1 in the first leg and drawing 2-2 in the return. Our path was interrupted in the quarter-finals, with a 3-1 defeat in the return against Ulsan after a 2-0 win in the first leg, which saw us leave the competition due to away goals. Happy new year to everyone!
  16. SEASON 2028-2029 After five seasons in South Africa, we arrived on a new continent, aiming to win national trophies as well as the Asian Champions League, at the helm of Sidney FC. I have to say that after all those seasons in South Africa, to only face two competitions seemed definitely strange, but anyway, here is how it went. AUSTRALIA CUP In the Australia Cup we won immediately in the first round, beating the Melbourne Knights 3-1. In the second round we won a prestigious victory against one of the best teams in Australia, Adelaide United, beaten 2-0. The dream was interrupted in extra time of the quarter-finals, however, with the victory of the Wellington Phoenix signed by Valentin Adamo's double, despite Segecic's initial advantage. ISUZU UTE-A LEAGUE In the regular season, we had a season without ups or downs, finishing in fourth place with 49 points, 14 wins, 7 draws and 5 losses, 9 points behind the leader Wellington Phoenix. In the Finals we easily beat Melbourne City in the first round. Adelaide United also went down in the semi-finals, with a win in Sydney and a draw in the return. Once again it was the Wellington Phoenix who spoiled the party, winning the final on penalties after the 2-2 draw in regulation time. Season Team Position Notes and Achievements 2023/24 Black Leopards 1st Motsepe Foundation Championship winner, promotion to DStv Premiership 2024/25 Supersport United 4th Nedbank Cup winner 2025/26 Supersport United 4th Telkom Knockout Cup, Nedbank Cup and CAF Confederation Cup winner 2026/27 Supersport United 1st DStv Premiership winner 2027/28 Supersport United 2nd CAF Champions League winner 2028/29 Sydney FC 4th/2nd Challenge Progress Club 1/10 top domestic leagues (DStv Premiership 2026/27) 1/10 domestic cups (Nedbank Cup 2024/25) 1/5 club continental championships (CAF Champions League 2027/28) 0/1 club world championship International 0/5 continental tournaments () 0/1 world tournaments ()
  17. SEASON 2027/2028 Fourth, and hopefully last, season at the helm of Supersport United, with hopes of winning the CAF Champions League and leaving South Africa a conqueror. DSTV PREMIERSHIP In the league we maintain a good pace, but the Kaizer Chiefs are simply unbeatable, scoring 70 points and winning the championship three days in advance. MTN 8 In MTN 8 we eliminated the Orlando Pirates, now in freefall after their former glory, but in the semi-finals we were eliminated by the Kaizer Chiefs. Keep them in mind because, after the championship, this is far from the last competition in which we are eliminated by them. TELKOM KNOCKOUT CUP The same happens in the Telkom Knockout Cup, where after comfortable 4-2 victories against Amazulu and an impressive 7-1 win against Cape Town City, in the semifinals we are beaten by Kaizer Chiefs, who triumph in extra time. NEDBANK CUP Nedbank Cup? Kaizer Chiefs again, there is little to be done. Still in the semi-finals where, after victories against Ts Galaxy, Pretoria Callies and Amazulu on penalties, it will be penalties that will punish us against Kaizer Chiefs. There is very little to be done. CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE But the disappointments pale in the face of the great triumph: Supersport United are African champions. A fantastic and clear-cut journey, starting with the preliminary round, with a 14-2 victory in the aggregate against AS Otoho. Another large victory against Sagrada Esperanca by 8-2 gives us access to the groups. In the rounds we find ASEC Mimosas, Wydad Casablanca and Rivers United, scoring 18 points and beating their opponents on all fronts. In the quarter-finals against Es Sahel we don't struggle, winning overall 5-2. In the semi-finals comes the big test, against Al Ahly, winners of four of the last six editions. In the first leg in Egypt, we won 4-3, in an incredible and well-balanced match. In the return leg, we strenuously defended our lead, forcing our opponents to a 2-2 draw. The final then, against CS Sfax, was even more incredible and heart-stopping, with two draws that forced us to go to penalties. In the end we won, with incredible suffering, and ended our experience in South Africa to the applause of the cheering crowd. 18. SEASON 2026/2027 It took a few years longer than expected, but finally the championship is added to my palmares. In terms of titles, we win less than last year, but we reach the bottom of all competitions, enriching the team's palmares, as well as our own, with an exceptional trophy. DSTV PREMIERSHIP In the league, as mentioned, the season is extraordinary. We only managed one defeat, after the championship had already been won, and finished the competition with 69 points from 30 games, an astonishing haul. The gap on the second place, the city rivals the Sundowns, is 12 points. In this classification, it is surprising that the defending champions, the Orlando Pirates, finished seventh, exonerating their coach during the season. Little else to say, our season in the league hardly ever sees us in trouble, also thanks to a new acquisition in attack, Kibu Denis. MTN 8 Get used to it already because this willbe just the first of several finals lost. The competition goes a bit as usual: fairly easy team at the start, in this case the Amazulu, beaten 2-1, then in the semifinals the Orlando Pirates. This time, however, we finally managed to get past them, overcoming the 2-1 first leg in favour of our opponents with a 2-0 comeback. The dream, if you want to call it that, was shattered in the final, with the Kaizer Chiefs winning 2-1 in a comeback. CAF CONFEDERATION CUP A very similar path to last year, which saw us win the title. Zero difficulties in the preliminary rounds against Guelish Batal and KCB, while some more difficulties came in the group, which we finished second behind CS Sfax. In the quarter-finals we easily overcame Kaizer Chiefs in the South African derby, but we were eliminated in the semi-finals by Future, a team we had beaten in last year's final, who went through thanks to away goals. TELKOM KNOCKOUT CUP The scenario is the same as in the previous competition. In the first round a team at the door, albeit a dangerous one, Stellenbosch, is easily overcome thanks to a 3-1 win signed by Donn, Adebayor and Moralo. In the quarter-finals life was even easier with a clear 3-0 win against Swallows FC. In the semi-finals we won the Pretoria derby against Sundowns 1-0. Here too we then fell in the final, defeated by the surprising Chippa UTD, who beat us 1-0. NEDBANK CUP The last of the disappointments comes in the Nedbank Cup. Once again at the beginning the path is clear: 1-0 victory in the first round against Kaizer Chiefs, then 3-0 victory against Marumo Gallants, 2-1 victory in the quarter-finals against Amazulu. In the final the win was even bigger, with a resounding 5-1 victory over Polokwane City. It all looked easy and we got suckered, being tripped by Cape Town City, who won 1-0 and took the trophy. 19. SEASON 2025/2026 After last season, which brought the first major trophy in my palmares, I remained at the helm of Supersport United, with the aim of trying to qualify for the next CAF Champions League. The squad was changed quite a bit, with the farewell of our best player, Campbell, who moved to Fiorentina, and several signings, which strengthened the team at our disposal. DStv Premiership As you can see from the league table, we didn't achieve our objective. The only competition in which we were supposed to do well is exactly the one in which we did badly: after an excellent start, in fact, the greater strength of the Orlando Pirates came out, and we progressively dropped, going from a stable second place to this disappointing fourth place finish. What hurt most of all was the final period, with the various injuries that hit us, forcing several youngsters to replace the injured. Title winners were, of course, the Orlando Pirates, who almost never stopped during the course of the season, except in the two challenges against us, with a win from us in the first leg and a draw in the return leg on the road. MTN 8 There is little to say about this competition. We went out in the quarter-finals, against Cape Town City, on penalty kicks. Despite a very good game, with 2.63 xG against our opponents' 0.89, we drew 2-2, with a goal each in extra time, and then lost on the seventh penalty kick, with the error by Dlamini who followed Mabongo's goal. TELKOM KNOCKOUT CUP The first of our successes this season came in the Telkom Knockout Cup, a competition that had seen us go straight out last season. In the first round we beat Chippa United with ease, thanks to a brace from one of our best players, Ryan Manning. In the quarter-finals the match was even smoother, with a resounding 5-1 victory over Marumo Gallants, with Moralo's hat-trick and goals from Rapoo and Mwamnyeto. Things got tougher in the semi-finals, with a 2-2 draw against Sekhukhune United, which meant we had to play our way into the final on penalties. This time, however, we came out on top, thanks to Magidigidi's decisive penalty kick. In the final came the Pretoria derby, against Sundowns, won 1-0 in extra time thanks to the goal of our centre forward, Mouad Issa. NEDBANK CUP The second national competition brings us just as much joy. We arrived at this competition as defending champions and confirmed our strength right from the first round, with a narrow victory against Marumo Gallants, signed in the final by midfielder Mlambo. The matches are all complicated in this competition and in the second round Cape Town Spurs await us, who take the lead with Cupid but who we manage to come back thanks to Mwamnyeto, Issa and Arribas. In the quarter-finals, the big surprise: another Pretoria derby and this time there was no history, with a 4-0 victory that knocked out the rivals. In the semi-final, despite many absences, we managed to win 2-1, led by the few big names on the pitch, such as Issa and Adebayor, who scored on a penalty kick. 2-1 that was repeated in the final, with Adebayor's brace that knocked out the Kaizer Chiefs and gave us our second cup. CAF CONFEDERATION CUP There is also room for continental joys. In the CAF Confederation Cup, we easily overcame the group with RS Berkane (the same team that had eliminated us in the preliminaries last year), US Monastir and Primeiro de Agosto, scoring four wins, one draw and one defeat and a total of 13 points. In the quarter-finals, a South African derby against Amazulu awaited us, which we only managed to overcome on penalties in the return leg after two 2-1 wins, one each, in the two challenges. Much easier was the semi-final, against CS Sfax, a Tunisian team, which we beat in the first leg, winning 4-1 and allowing us to manage the advantage in their home game, where we drew 2-2. In the final, finally, the Egyptians of Future await us, who in the first leg give us a bit of a scare, deservedly stopping us at 2-2. In the return leg, however, there was no story, 4-1 outright and the third competition won in the season. 20. SEASON 2024/2025 After my promotion with the Black Leopards, my adventure continued in South Africa, but this time with Supersport United, a club in South Africa's top league. This team represented a leap up the ladder since they had finished third in the previous season, qualifying for the CAF Confederations Cup. The initial goal was clear: to get the first trophy to be counted in our 'challenge progress', and to lay the foundation for winning the other trophies in the following season. Will we have achieved our goal? DStv Premiership The season in the league, from my point of view, was quite disappointing. Both defensively and offensively we encountered problems, struggling to score at certain times and conceding too many goals at others. Specifically, our worst moment was between late August and late October, with only one win in two months. Regardless probably the Sundowns and Orlando Pirates were better equipped to win, but to be below Stellenbosch is definitely disappointing. We still finished in the top five, surpassing the company's goal of finishing in the middle of the standings. MTN8 This was the competition that had least sparked my interest, since it was against the best teams in the league and therefore the most difficult to win, as well as not valid for the challenge goal :). After easily beating Cape Town City 4-0, we faced the Orlando Pirates in the semifinals. Unfortunately, hitting three posts between the first leg and the second leg, we lost in total 5-3, losing 2-3 at home and 2-1 away from home. In the final, the Orlando Pirates beat the Sundowns 1-0, clinching the title. TOTALENERGIES CAF CONFEDERATION CUP & TELKOM KNOCKOUT Two competitions combined since there is little to say about these two competitions. In both of them we went out in the preliminary round, respectively in the CAF Confederation Cup against RS Berkane, being rematched twice: first in the first leg, in the last ten minutes, going from 2-0 for us to 2-2 and then in the return leg, going from 0-2 to 3-2, equalizing in the 89th minute and finally losing in the 91st minute. As for the Telkom Knockout Cup, the defeat is even more disappointing since we went down 3-0 against TS Galaxy, and then we managed to find just a useless goal, losing 3-1. NEDBANK CUP The only joy, which saves an otherwise disappointing season, comes in the second national cup, the Nedbank Cup. In the first round we easily beat a team from the third division, Hannover Park, winning 4-1 even without the starters. In the same round, the Sundowns, the defending league champions, went out against Stellenbosch, losing 5-4 in extra time. In the second round, the opponent was from a higher division, but still a team from a lower division than the ours and the victory was even wider, with the starters allowing us to overcome the opponent 7-2. This round also saw a high-prestige elimination, with the Orlando Pirates beaten on penalties by the Green Arrows. The next two rounds, the quarter-finals and the semi-finals, saw us face the very two teams that eliminated our best rivals: in the quarter-finals we overcame Stellenbosch, winning narrowly 2-1. The semi-final against the Green Arrows was easier, won 2-0, although our opponents missed a penalty at 2-0, which could have reopened the match. The most difficult was undoubtedly the final, where we faced Royal AM, winners a few weeks before the South African second division. Margeman's goal at the start of the game was enough to lift the trophy to the sky, but it was far from easy to bring home the cup. 21. I had originally planned to stay, but then an interesting opportunity came up to try to fight for the top of the DStv Premiership and I took advantage of it
  22. 2023/24 My save for this challenge began in South Africa, leading the Black Leopards. The team was very unusual because it was oddly constructed: I had five attacking midfielders and five strickers but just one winger per role and one fullback per role. Adding that the budget was almost zero, I had to intervene, within the limits of the budget, with several zero parameters, thus acquiring winger Mashaba and midfielder Mekoa. Unfortunately, although I made attempts for other players, I received a long series of rejections, from players who decided to accept offers from direct competitors. MOSTEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP The season in the league went beyond my wildest expectations. Starting with the goal of avoiding relegation, we were able to win the title and earn promotion to the top league. The deciding factor was mainly the excellent start to the season, with 13 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in the first 15 games, with only the Hungry Lions able to maintain a pace similar to ours. Towards the end of 2023 came an understandable downturn, with several consecutive negative results, but fortunately the rivals did not take advantage and we kept the top spot until the 27th day, when we celebrated winning the title. In the last few matches i gave space to the youngsters who, although they did not bring great results, still had the chance to show off. NEDBANCK CUP If we had a great season in the league, the same cannot be said for the cup, where we were eliminated in the preliminary round, against the Casric Stars. The defeat was definitely disappointing, especially since a few weeks earlier we had beaten them 3-0 away, the same stadium where we later lost the cup match 3-1. We still would not have been able to win the cup, of course, but still not fulfilling the club's goal slightly disappointed me. The cup winner was Amazulu, who finished 13th in the league.
