  1. Hey - im so sorry, i didnt realise you were on here, i would have tagged you if i had realised. Thank you for your work, so far so good!
  2. Awesome story man, thank you! Appreciate you following along. Hoping the end of season update is ready for posting soon
  3. Thank you mate, hope you can follow along More detail on the club can be found on thier Wiki, here or on the official club website here
  4. December 2023 League Its pretty much been as straight forwarded as they all predicted. Really happy, obviousl. Some big scorelines in there that really show our dominance. 1st - We're obvisouly top by some considerable distance! Cups We had a decent FA Cup run and were so close to qualifying for the First Round but it wasnt to be. Im hopeful we can push on though and hopefully make the final of the FA Vase. Youth Intake Preview The staff seem to be reasonibly excited for the class of 2024 but we will wait and see Of Note Huge shout out to Joey Evans, absolute bagsman in the first half of the season, hitting the back of the net 39 times already in just 30 games. Delighted to sign him to a new contract after Hartlepool came sniffing around him - fairly low wages considering his goals and an optional extension on our side, should ensure that if he was to leave, we would get a fee. Finances We're in profit for the season, which isnt to be scoffed at. We're averaging about 230 spectators a game, not sure what thats like at this level but something we will monitor on these updates.
  5. Save Objectives A few things id like to tick off as we go; Become a full time, professional club Reach the Football League Try not to sign loan players Produce an International out of our academy Have a player follow us through as many leagues as possible, club captain/legend vibe Win the Premier League Win the Champions League These will be updated as i think of new ones/we progress the save.
  6. Hello and welcome to my latest save. We're taking over Real Bedford, currently playing at Level 9 in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division. So, why Real Bedford? I was browsing the FM Scout website and notice a file had been uploading which was basically updating the game to show some IRL changes that had happened to the club. Lets look at the timeline of events; 1957 - Bedford United are formed and mainlly just kick about the local leagues with no notable successes 1971 - The club joins the United Counties League and is placed into Div 2 1979 - Club leaves the United Counties League and takes a spot in the Bedfordshire County League 1980 - Bedfordshire County League Div 1 Champions 1989 - Joined the South Midlands League 1996 - 3rd place finish earns promotion to the Premier Division of the SML 2002 - The club merges with local Sunday League side US Valerio and is knows as Bedford United & Valerio 2005 - Club is relegated after finishing second from bottom 2006 - Club renamed to Bedford Valerio United 2007 - Renamed again and is now known simply as Bedford 2013 - Winners of the Bedfordshire Senior Trophy 2015 - Promotion back to the Premier Division but subsequently relegated in the following season 2022 - Club is taken over by Bitcoin Podcaster Peter McCormack. Pete claims he wants to take the club all the way to the Premier League. Club is then renamed once more and is now known as Real Bedford 2023 - Again win the Bedfordshire Senior Trophy and are crowned champions of Division One 2024 - Huge investment made by cryptocurrency investors, the Winklevoss twins, sees £4,5000,000 pumped into the club. Ans this is where we pick up the story.... No doubt theres work to be done to achieve Peter's dream of Premier League football but im so excited to run this LLM type save with some financial backing.
  7. 2023/24 - Round Up Our balance increases but theres nothing for the already maxed out wage pot Nothing really to write home about in Europe this season - its vital we get promoted this season so we can really get this save moving.
  8. May 2024 We absolutely crumbled. It was all in our hands and we simply didnt take the chance. 3rd - a devasting end to the season. We will remain in this league next year and for the sake of the save, promotion is a must!
  9. April 2024 Solid in the league! Ending with quite possibly the craziest game ive ever been involved in on FM. On '68, we were 5-3 down. On '90 we were still 5-3 down! 3 goals in 6 crazy minutes saw us win the game somehow. Scenes! 1st - amazing pull back from March. Its in our hands and the run in favours us...
  10. February & March 2024 A solid return after the winter break saw us havea really decent February tbf, with just the one defeat. The same cant really be said for March, just one win in the 4 games, not good enough! 3rd - 5 points behind 2nd. Can we make up the difference?
  11. Winter Break Update 2023 A torrid October saw us give away what lead we'd created. Thank fully we started to steady the ship in October and progressed in the Magyar Kupa. We ended 2023 strongly with 2 wins and 2 clean sheets. 3rd - depsite falling apart in October, we are still in with a shout of promotion.
  12. In the hope of keeping interest, in what is a very long term save idea, im going to run bi-monthly updates for the first season seeing as the sole objective is simply promotion. August (and July)/September 2023 Not alot to be said really. The results speak for themselves. Only negative was the defeat to Szeged, despite going 1-0 up. 1st - perfect. And we starting to pull away nicely. Would ideally like to start turning a profit soon. Maybe a cup run or increase in crowds due to league performance.
  13. Season 2023/24 (Pre-Season) I havent played as much as id of liked this week due to work commitments. That said, the season is now underway and theres just one clear aim...promotion. Its fairly straight forward, the Top 2 go up. End of. We're 3rd favs to go up with the bookies, the media has us in 5th. Both the bookies and media have Gyori and Vasas to finish 1st and 2nd respectively. Guess its them we'll be gunning down...
  14. How would you guess like to see updates posted? I want to appeal to followers/readers.
  15. Yep. Not only your point about dominating domestically but to improve the coefficient, Hungarian teams NEED to be competing in Europe too. So it’s going to be a fine balance of me reigning in Hungary but bringing along the rest of the league for some European fun!
  16. I’m really excited to get stuck in! Interesting point about a tactic - it’s not something I’d considered but could be a really great spin on the thread. Research needed for sure - happy for anyone’s input too though Thank you, glad to have you on board It’s about retention I guess. Those that may not make my team will stay on my books to I control where they do actually play. An that will be in Hungary. Anything that makes those around us stronger, to compete in Europe. No point losing talent to other nations. Thanks mate!
  17. Updates We wont be doing month by month updates as they are pointless and i really want this save to be a long one. I'' keep updates coming for how the 3 squads look at the club and later into the save, looking to use the legendary 'Loan Farm' from @SecondYellowCard. As well as building up Honved, we need to help the other teams around us grow too so they can compete in Europe and help grow the co-efficient. We will track how domestic clubs are fairing iun Europe and how Hungary compete on the International stage. Main focus too will be around the co-efficient score and how thats helping Hungary to climb the ranks. So... Club wise, we have a really good set up. Im happy with the facilities and the fact we are a pro club. We are starting out in the second division so we need promotion forst and foremost. Hungary currently sit 36th in the WR and 24th in Europe. Domestically, the league (Div 1) rep sits at 27th, English Championship is up in 18th for comparision. Will track this best we can, but at the start, im using the 5.875 figure form the 2022/23 season. Go well fellow Hungarians, see you soon
  18. This save is built on the idea of a Build A Nation save, with inspiration mainly taken from @mpm2342 and YouTuber @SecondYellowCard. The premise of the save will be to not only build a side to become European Champions but also build a nation to climb the World and Co-Efficient rankings. This is my first solid attempt at this and we will be using the nation of Hungary, whilst managing Budapest Honved, for this journey. Why Hungary? Believe it or not, during the 1950s, Hungary were a dominant force on the International scene, where they had Olympic success, remianing unbeaten for 2 years, as well as being runners up in the 1954 World Cup. Behind this success, was Ferenc Puskas, who we are familair with to this day thanks to the FIFA Puskas award. Hungary were widely regarded for creating the fundementals of Total Football, which would later lay the baseline for the dutch variation which we all know and love, A slow decline then ensued, with Hungary eliminated from the 1986 World Cup, they then faield to qualify for a mjor tournament for over 30 years. Forward onto the 2000's and they have featured at 3 consecutive European Championships. Why Budapest Honved? With Hungary dominating the international scene in the 1950's, Honved were the powerhouse domestically, winning 5 out of 7 championships. 5 Honved players made up the spine of the legendary national team as the wreaked havoc. A decline to match that of the national team took decades to recover from with a bright spell from 1982 to 1994 which saw several league and cup triumphs. Another decline soon followed; on the final say of the 2022/23 season, the club were relegated from the Hungarian top flight. Save Aims Restore Honved to be a dominant force domestically Rebuild Hungary to once again compete nationaly, earning back the Might Maygers nickname Win the Champions League with Honved Win the World Cup with Hungary
  19. Sorry im late to the party but ive only just seen this thread - welcome back Pete, amazing to see you back here!
  20. Youth Intake (2024) Preview Im really not sure what to make of this but, rated excellent, someones happy.
  21. Progress Update - October 2023 10 games in and we're progressing really nicely. I was disappointed to lose the cup game but we will foucs our attentions elewhere. The squad is a bit think, Irish clubs (due to the way i have the DB i think) have alot of contract expiring in November so we will look to bolster the ranks.
  22. A new signing! A bit of a throwback and possibly Wexford's 'biggest' ever signing?
  23. Season Preview 2023/24 We are not fancied, not one bit, a relegation scrap is predicted Transfer wise, as im playing in 'Real World' mode, all of these transfer were pre determined for me. We will lose one key player, Conor Levingston, in July - hes off to Drogheda United and on a free too
  24. Start of save Reputations and Co-Efficients SSE Airtricity League Premier Division Currently sits at rank 74th, just a place behind the English League Two - this shows the task at hand SSE Airtricity League First Division My current league - whilst im not planning on being here for too long, its rep will need to improve as the save progresses Republic of Ireland Currently 35th in the World on the Co-Efficient rankings. Northern Ireland just 8 places behind. 2024 will see an International tournament in the form of the European Championships, Ireland might be there...
  25. An Introduction to Wexford FC I have decided to take over as First Division side, Wexford FC. I like thier kits, the fact they are relatively newly founded and dont have too much history about them. I was also drawn by the supporters culture & expectations, something i can easily buy into. The starting squads look good to me too, but with no transfer budget and a maxed out wage budget, we're going to have to do some wheeling and dealing. Main Under 19
