  1. Probably because due to the winter update, all the database files aren't up to date. You could get one of those database and test it yourself, that's probably the best thing to do. If you dont know how to do that, I assume theres loads of tutorials on Youtube.
  2. We're back at it!!! Sorry for the gap in reviews, school and internship have kept me busy, but we're back for season 6! Let's begin with the transfers. Transfers: Outs: - Didn't expect Kvernadze to be leaving the squad, the board accepted a 1.5m bid from Saudi side Al-Hazem, already worth 8.6 to 13m, very very sad. - Club legend Silagadze also left for rivals Dinamo Tbilisi, he wanted to leave and barely played, so to still get 525k for his is a decent deal. - Our first choice CB got sold by the board for a total of 4m to once again our rivals Dinamo Tbilisi. F*ckig board man... - Once again, the board sold right winger Mouhamed Niang to Russian powerhouse Dinamo Moscow for a total of 2.8m Ins: - 19 year old Ivorian striker Constant Beugré, arriving from Africa Sports for 8.25k - Dutch right winger Sontje Hansen, joining for free from NEC - Talents Serbian CDM Damir Rajic, joining us from Red Star for 105k - 26 year old veteran Giorgi Gocholeishvili, also joining for free from Shakhtar - 24 year old Andrii Buleza, also joining us from Shakhtar for 375k - 19 year old North Macedonian Arber Lika, who joins is for free from Shkendija - Either footed centreback Darko Tatic joins us from Bosnian side Kozara for 250k - 19 year old Dutch CAM Maarten Senden, who joins us from FC Emmen on a free - 18 year old Ghanian Akwasi Mudasiru, who joins us for 325k from Asante Kotoko - our last signing was Nils Mortimer, who joins us for free to strengthen the right wing First half of the season: The season began with the super of course, normally not a eventful game but this season it was crazy. 10 goals, 7 goals for us and 3 for the opposition. Overall, nice beginning of the season The league went really good the first half of the season, losing 1 and drawing 4. We went as 1st place into the summer break, also reaching the quarter final of the cup. Second half of the season: The league went swimmingly, just drawing 3 more games and winning all the remaning games. We also set a points record in the league and we set a record of most goals scored with 109. Scoring also 8 times twice and 10 times on one occasion. The cup we eventually won aswell, winning 2-0 against midtable Telavi. Both Dinamo Batumi and Tbilisi weren't even in the quarter finals. Europe: Winning the league meant that we would be going in to the Champions League qualifiers, maybe we're gonna shock the world this year... We didn't, losing to Shamrock Rovers on pens. This result means we will go into the Conference League qualifiers. We got a lucky draw against San Marinese minnows Tre Fiori, who we dispatched 19-0 on aggregate. In the next round we got put up against KF Tirana, winning the first leg 5-0 meant that we could rest our squad for the return fixture, which we drew 0-0. In the last round of qualifiying we got drawn against FC Prishtina from Kosovo. The first leg was quite easy with a Mouhamed Niang hattrick, we eventually won 4-0. The return leg ended in a 5-2 victory for us, which meant that we qualified for the league stage of the Conference League. We got to play 6 games in the league phase, beginning with hosting Latvian side Riga, travelling to Serbia to face Serbian giants Partizan, hosting the Irish St. Pats and Slovakian Spartak Trnava back to back and to finish of the league phase, travelling to Serbia once again to face Vozdovac and travelling to Slovakia this time to face Slovan Bratislava. As you can see, the league went amazing. We won half of our games, losing just 2. We also set a record of most goals in the Conference League in a season (48 and counting) These results meant that we would advance to the knockouts, finishing 14th in the league. The Squad: The squad performed really well this season, only losing like 4 or 5 times this whole calender year. Main characters this season we're Baramidze once again, who might've lost his starting spot to Beugré, who got more goal involvements in less minutes played. Peart-Harris was a jack of all trades in Box-to-Box role. Sontje Hansen also enjoyed a phenomenal debut season in Georgia, being involved on 29 occasions. Someone who took the spotlight was Beka Gviniashvili, the man who replaced Kvernadze. After a season at Telavi, he came back and put the whole league and Conference League on notice. I'll show him in the next update. Hope you guys enjoyed it, next season we will begin with the rest of the Conference League with hopefully a fairytale story. See ya next time in Georgia!
  3. Guess who's back... Back again... Giorgi's back, tell a friend So after littles less than a month were back in Georgia. Not gonna lie, I lost a little interest in FM and had a busy time in December, festive season and stuff. But were back, trying to avenge our lost league last season to Dinamo Tbilisi. But first, transfers.... Transfers: - We needed a new goalie, so Pietro Boer was signed on a free from Italian giants AS Roma - Our new Mezzala, Myles Peart-Harris was signed from Premier League side Brentford, really good signing imo - Talented striker Davit Gabelia joined us from lower league side Merani to backup our main two strikers - Our last January signing was Jaba Melkadze, a talented CB from relegated Samtredia But most of our business was made halfway through the season, because most leagues release their players around June time and we are a summer league, so first the departures... - After the siging of Boer, Gugegashvili couldnt get into the team no more and Dinamo Tbilisi were really interested, ended up selling him for 925k rising to 1.1m - Now a sale I didn't plan on making, our Zambian Messi was sold for 1.5m to Russian giants Krasnodar, with a 30% sell on clause, which we sold later on for little over 500k, so 2m overall is really good for the clubs finances Now for the transfers in... - To replace Banda, we signed Senegalese winger Mouhamed Niang on a free from Diambars - We also signed a new Samurai for right back, Takayuki Hirano from Ozu High School on a free, phenomenal mentals and decent defending attributes Now were going for a little reunion... - We signed Luka Parkadze as a rotation player from Bayern on a free, after playing for us on loan couple seasons ago... - And lastly Roman Savchenko from Shakhtar on a free to bolster our backline, after also playing on loan for us a couple seasons ago First half of the season: To begin our season we had the Super cup against our enemies Dinamo Tbilisi, which we won. That brought me hope for the coming season. Our season began amazingly, winning 9 of our first 11 games and drawing the other 2 games. Sadly lost our 2nd league game of the season against Dinamo Tbilisi but winning 5-0 against Batumi later that month. Our 2nd loss of the season came against Torpedo which also was our last league game before the summer break. But we were still sitting in 1st place. The cup went also really good advancing through 3 teams with relative ease, besides the first game vs Kolkheti, that ended in a 5-3 thrilling win for us. Second half of the season: In the beginning of August we began with a game vs our enemies Dinamo Tbilisi that ended in draw. After that game, we had to wait till the 9th of October for our next game where we lost points and also lost a game, against who you may ask? yes, Dinamo Tbilisi again, d*ckheads. That loss sees us just 3 points ahead of 2nd placed Batumi, who we beat every time this season but are still doing some quality stuff. After cruising through the season we come to the last game of the season against 2nd placed Batumi, 3 points ahead, if we dont lose, were champions of Georgia again. I wish I could tell you about how epic this game was and how we narrowly escaped defeat, but the game was a ****show, ending in a 0-0 draw which sees us crowned champions of Georgia for the 3rd time in the clubs history. Then there was still chance of doing the domestic treble, in the middle of August we played in the quarters against Batumi and dispatched them 3-1 after extra time to see us advance to the semi's, where we would be the only top tier team left, with 2nd tier teams Irao and Varketili and 3rd tier Algeti battling us to the cup final. Our semi final was against 2nd tier Irao, who we narrowly beat 2-1 after extra time and so advancing to the final where we faced Varketili. I wasnt taking any chances so I put on my best 11, although the next game was that last game vs Batumi. Luckily, we were 4-0 up after 60 minutes and ended up winning 5-0 to see us do the domestic treble, if you count the supercup of course. Europe: After finishing 2nd last season, saw us join the Conference League, the 2nd qualifying round to be exact. Our first encounter was against Slovenian former champs Olimpija who we dispatched 5-2 in Slovenia and then 3-1 back home in Georgia. This tie sees us matched up against Rijeka, a bit more difficult but doable, so I thought. The first game was on our home turf, that ended in a deserved 0-0 draw. The second leg began hopeful, with a goal for newboy Mouhamed Niang, but a minute later our left back Yvan Dibango got sent off, just when we needed to start to play a little more defensive, this saw us conceding just before half time and twice just after half time, 3-1 down. Than our other newboy Gabelia scored to make it 3-2, giving us hope, so we started attacking with lots of confidence. That confidence was brought right down in the 88th minute when Rijeka scored the 4-2, no more European football for Saburtalo. Player stats: Overall, I was happy with this seasons performances, our striker duo excelled and the midfield contributed phenomenally, especially Peart-Harris who set a new record with producing all 5 assists in the cup final. Baramidze really showed us why he is our main striker scoring 28 goals and Kvernadze really showed us why he is our perfect DLF with 21 goals and 12 assists. Other than that, Peart-Harris with 9 goals and 15 assists and Parkadze with 8 goals and 7 assists in only half a season is very impressive. Player Spotlight: In this player spotlight I let you see some players who have a bright future or have developed well, firstly... Baramidze, our new starting striker at 19 years old, who developed amazingly. Only downsight is that he might have already reached his PA, because some coaches rate him as 2,5 star CA and 3-4 star PA, while some other coaches rate him as both CA and PA as 3 stars or 3 stars CA and 3-4 stars PA. We'll have to wait and see I guess. - A player who already made his debut for the first team, due to injuries in the first team, and scoring on his debut, Giorgi Chavchanidze, he developed very quickly in the youth teams, but severely lacking some attributes I see as a must for a attacking player, such as finishing, work rate and composure. But he played relatively well as a reserve player, scoring a goal on his starting debut as a DLF, I tried retraining him as a right winger but that hasn't been learning that role so fast. Still a exciting player to see develop. (I can somehow not upload a screenshot of him, will show him next update) That was the update of Season 5 in Georgia, I wont set a time of when I do Season 6, as I'm very busy the coming months, but I hope to continue this. Hope you guess enjoyed this, see you next time in Georgia!!!!
  4. Season 4 (2026) ...The Chaaaaampioooooonsss.... ...Champions of Georgia, You'll never sing that! After a convincing season winning the league by 9 points, we set up for another season in Georgia, aiming to win the league and now of course, show ourselves on the world's biggest stage, The UEFA Champions League... But first, transfers ins and outs... OUTS: Our first transfer out, and only one for actual money, is immediately a sad one. The topscorer of the 2nd season Andrija Filipovic wasn't in our plans much anymore, with our youngsters growing incredibly fast, so Kazach side Tobol Kostanay came in and offered us 40k, rising to 48.5k, decent money for a player with a ending contract. A sad goodbye to our season 2 hero... The other outs were all frees and released players, with the most notable, Grigol Chabradze, who, sadly, immediately retired afterwards... INS: - 19 year old Senegalese DM, Alpha Toure, who joins us for free from Generation Foot - 23 year old Cameroonian left back, to challenge Janashia, Yvan Dibango, who joins us on a free from Estonian side Levadia - 24 year old Georgian, new backup right back, Rati Mchedlishvili, who joins on a free from Torpedo - 20 year old CB, also from Senegal and Generation Foot, Fallou Diouf - 30 year old Ghanaian CM, new first teamer, Moses Odjer, who joins us from Italian side Foggia Those were all the ins, alot of players also joined in from the youth teams, but those are already shown in the previous post. League: After winning the league quite comfortably last season, we were title favourites and we made that true. The first half of the league stage we went unbeaten, with only 4 draws and only wins after that, 3 of those draws came against Dila Gori of course, our bogey team. Then in August we resumed the league after a 2 month summerbreak. And boy did our luck change, due to European football (we come to that later), we had a hectic fixture list, with 22 games in just under 3 months. To be honest, I didn't expect that the fixtures would be that difficult to manage, which sees us struggle loads in the league, because of the resting of star players for European games. And with Dinamo Tbilisi in spectacular form, we would continue to struggle. Although having such a big lead at the halfway point and winning 4 of the last 5, we went into the last day of the season with a 1 point lead, playing already relegated Merani. Easy W right? RIGHT?!! We lost... and Dinamo Tbilisi won... With that result, we finish 2nd, disappointed, VERY disappointed. I feel like next season we gonna turn into the villain of Georgia, with finally some money in our bank balance, because of European football. Speaking of European Football.... European Football: Champions League will be the starting point of our journey in Europe this season. We got matched up with Estonian champions Flora Tallinn. I was expecting a somewhat difficult draw but it was the exact opposite, winning 4-1 and 3-0 in the away and home leg. This performance gave me loads of confidence for the next tie, which sees us travel to beautifull Lithuania, to face Zalgiris, who we then dispatched 2-0 twice. This win guarenteed us a spot for the Conference League minimum, but were still fighting for a UCL spot, with in our next stage, facing off against Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv, this tie will be difficult, which sees us lose the first leg 2-0 in Ukraine, but still hopeful in the 2nd leg. We played really good to be fair, but you could see that we were playing a giant in European football, we did not score and neither did Dynamo, ending in a 0-0 draw, which made me happy. That aggregate loss sees us join the Europa League playoff, playing a familiar face, Zalgiris from Lithuania. This time it went a little more difficult, winning the first leg 3-1, but losing the second leg 2-1. But on aggregate, that sees us qualify for the Europa League league stage. This sees us playing in Amsterdam, Reims and Genk and hosting teams like Frankfurt, Slavia Prague and AEK Athens. At the time of writing this we have 2 matches to play, Frankfurt and Genk, I will include those results next season review, so I will be showing the results so far. I didn't expect to win any of those matches, but we did win some matches. We had a spectacular comeback win vs Reims, going 2-0 down and winning 3-2 vs the French giants (compared to us). And then we had a Giorgi Kvernadze masterclass against Legia Warszawa, with him scoring a hattrick and winning 3-0 at home. The other games though... With these results, we sit just outside the playoff places and with a outside chance of advancing to the next stage. CUP: The cup always has been a stage for me to let youngsters play and players who are backups, but then I noticed... Were in the semi's, without conceding a goal... in that Semi final we play Torpedo, who we dispatch 4-0, onto the final we go Against who is the question... ****ing Dinamo Tbilisi, not suprised to be honest. Keep in mind we lost the league like 4 days before the cup final, so our heads were down. Which was noticable in our play not creating alot and alot of misplaced passes, luckily, Tbilisi had the same, who were still hungover from the title winning party. And then, after having 0 shots on target the whole game, Giorgi Kokhreidze went passed the last Tbilisi defender and scored our only shot on goal, in the 90th minute... We indeed are double winners this season, says FM, because we also won the super cup at the beginning of the season, which was a very boring game with just 1 goal. Youth Intake: The intake this year was mehh, decent players overall, but not worldbeaters. We do get another striker, we already have like 5 strikers in our team. Noticeable events: we got way more internationals this year, with Kvernadze, Gugegashvili and Janashia making appearances and Kvernadze even scoring a brace and going 3 in 3 for the Georgian national team. I also extended my contract at the club, seeing me at the club until 2029. This disaster of a season perfectly got summed up by a mail that I got a couple days after the loss against Merani... Absolute pain Squad: So the players were quite good overall, but alot of injuries during that Champions League qualification phase. Giorgi Kvernadze was our topscorer and Luka Silagadze leading our assists charts, Our youngsters developed well, Im planning to loan out Sandro Giorgadze, because he did not play as much as he did last season, so I think a loan move will help him. And looking forward to next season, I want to strengthen the goalie position, because Gugegashvili was the second worst goalie in the league. Also a new Mezzala is much appreciated. For those new players, you'll sadly have to wait until next post Stay safe guys and girls and have a great and lovely day!!!
  5. Season 3 (2025) We're back and better than ever! That was the expectation after our title battle last year in Georgia, we just missed out on the title but we're in Europe for the first time this save. A couple tweaks to the team could see us go for the league title this year and hopefully a good run in the Conference League. First, lets go to the transfers! We had a little trouble finding players for the coming season, our financial situation wasn't ideal. We had to wait for a couple of players to leave on end of contracts to free up some money to spend. But even then, we struggled. Our scouting budget was almost spent before we even got to look at players, but that's a stupid mistake from me. The players who did join we're: - Senegalese 20 year old midfielder Modou Niang, who joins us from Diambars and is also a U21 international - A loanee from Bayern, Luka Parkadze, for more backup in the midfield and on the wing And then... the signing of the window... - Giorgi Kvernadze, our new star man in the attack. We we're planning to sign a backup but instead we signed a whole new superstar on a free from newly promoted side Kolkheti First half of the season: Media predicted us in 3rd, behind the top 2 from last season Dinamo Tbilisi and Torpedo, even after a somewhat struggle in the transfer market. I would say we could take on Torpedo, but would struggle against Dinamo, because that UCL money would definetly be hitting right now. But after a shaky start with a 3-2 win vs non-league side Didube and a draw against Samgurali, I had my doubts. But that was unnecessary because we would go on a 15 game unbeaten streak in the league, which I also didn't expect. That unbeaten streak got rudely interupted by a 2 game losing streak, if you even can call that a streak, against fellow title challengers Torpedo and Dila Gori. Winning against Dinamo Tbilisi and going through another round of the cup, made us go into the summer break, with some spare money left, and needing some extra players to see us challenge fully for the title. Those transfers being: - Luka Gugeshashvili, a Georgian international goalie who came on a free from Qarabag, we needed some serious goalie strength because of some horrific underperformances. - Ukrainian centreback Mikhail Sukhoruchenko, we needed some CB backup due to some departures and unhappy players. - 19 year old Zambian Aaron Mbemba, some decent backup but mainly played for our 2nd team. Second half of the season: Going into the second half of the season in 1st place and some solid signings made me very confident and our first game back was in the cup against Kolkheti, recently promoted, fighting relegation, easy win right? Nah mate... After peppering the goal with shots, we couldn't break them down and then they get a penalty that they sadly would convert. But no shame, they won the whole tournament in the end... Hopefully this result doesn't hinder us mentally and we could go on a run maybe? And boy did we go on a run, only lost to 2nd placed Batumi. Only 1 loss in the league after the break, surely you won the league right? RIGHT?! Yes, yes we did. No silly stuff, we won the league with 3 games to spare, absolutely walked the league, which I didn't expect, Batumi in 2nd and Tbilisi in 3rd, luckily because they were figthing for Europe with Dila Gori and eventually got it. With Kolkheti also going into Europe because of that cup win. Europe: And now Europe, our first time this save. We rolled into the first qualifying round and we drew Lithuanian side Suduva. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect, I didn't know how good we would be against other European sides and how our players would do on this stage. The first game was a struggle, winning 2-3 away in Lithuania. We definetly had a tough task on our hands in the home leg, or did we? We won the 2nd leg quite comfortably, Suduva didn't really had a chance and we capitalised on that and won 5-2 over 2 legs. This win sees us go up against Slovakian bigdogs Slovan Bratislava. We gave a good fight, going up 2-1 at one point, but sadly conceding 2 minutes later and eventually losing 3-2, but I saw some good football and we didn't get played off the pitch, so I was hopeful for the second leg... Sadly we couldn't go with the momentum, we lost 3-1, 6-3 on aggregate. We gave our best, we did our best, but sadly it wasn't rewarded. But now we go into the UCL the coming season, with a lot of hope. Players Stats: This legendary squad was led by Luka Silagadze, who had, once again, a blinder of a season. New boy Kvernadze also had a standout season with 22 goals and youngster Sandro Giorgadze had 15 goals in just 8 starts, madness. Talking about youngsters, lets take a look at the Youth Intake from this year. Youth Intake: This young lad was the only notable player worth showing, really good player for now, but I dont think his potentially ability is as high as some lads we now have. Youngsters in the Spotlight: We have some absolute gems coming through, with a few having already played a handful of first team games. - Sandro Giorgadze, the man with 15 goals in 8 starts - Giga Janashia, the left back who's probably our main left back right now - Goga Lobzhanidze, our two footed CB who's a growing stud - Levan Tsulaia, our first 5 star intake player of the save - And then our potential new star boy, who we got last year in the intake, Archil Baramidze We could say our striker position is sorted, with 2 youngsters plus a guy who had 20+ goals in his first season. Review: This was a bloody phenomenal season, winning the league, developing talent, sadly not winning the cup, but that'll come and our first appearance in European football. We had good players, most of them are staying, some backups are leaving on free, but we will be replacing those handomely with our new budgets of around 7k per week in wages, that will rise when the players who are released, leave. I will focus on strengthening the defense, we didn't have the best defence in the league which is a main aim of mine. The Georgian national team has been underwhelming, not even close to qualifying for both EUROS and World Cup, they did however finish 1st in their Nations League C group, which is nice. Also some other admin, we lead the Georgian league player development, so out of all teams, we have developed the most players who play in the Georgian top division. But I think that'll be it, I haven't got alot more to add to this haha. Hope you guys enjoyed this season and I hope you all will be here next season, in the Champions League. I cant wait for that anthem. Stay safe and see you guys next season!
  6. I first looked around FM Scout and Sortitoutsi but couldn't find any databases for the Georgian league and then looked at the Steam workshop with the top 4 leagues, had a look and it's doing decent. It does have some quirks, the old sub rule with only 3 subs per game in the league, theres no league sorting rules after the points, so you often get the message that X team has been randomly chosen above Y team, but from what Ive seen the game automatically choose the team with a higher goal difference, so far no complaints from me. Also there's no registration rules, which I personally like.
  7. Season 2 (2024) Good evening Lovely peeps from the internet! Welcome back to the blog and the review of our second season in the lovely country of Georgia. This year was a year of hope, we got some money, we got the opportunity to build our own squad. Let's take a look! Transfers: With only 10 players remaining, we we're looking at a complete squad overhaul. We got 10k in wages to work with, all players I was looking at we're on frees, so no transfers for actual money. We got loads of new players, so I'll be only mentioning a few in great detail, the others who didn't feature loads I'll skip over a bit. First off we tried getting some centremids in, I tried getting some players from around Georgia, like Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, but most players wanted huge amounts of money, even backups, so I got some actual gems from Africa and of course players from Georgia self. Our first 2 signings we're indeed from Africa, both CM's: - Henry Udezuka from Nigerian side Abia Warriors, fun thing is his name on the back of his shirt is HENRY, all caps, lovely! - Yacouba Maïga from Malian side Djoliba, quality player who could be played in both roles I use in the midfield. We also needed some CB's, we signed a fair few but I'll show the best 2: - 20 year old Roman Savchenko, loaned in from Shakhtar, only loanee who got regular playing time. - Again a Malian, 19 year old Cheick Oumar Keïta, who also could play in the DM role for me. Our young right back Kapanadze was good, but not that consistent, so I had to also look for a backup player: - 28 year old veteran Grigol Chabradze, who came in from Dinamo Batumi on a free transfer - Halfway though the season I signed another right back, Cheick Ndom, he didn't feature that much but next season will be, so he's worth the mention. To win the league, you have to get a good striker, and this striker will be our number 1 choice: - 27 year old Croatian Andrija Filipovic, who joined us from Kazakh side Aktobe Also had to get a backup for the wingers: - 18 year old Zambian Joseph Banda, quality player on a very cheap contract, very excited for him - For a little more expierence on the wings we signed Georgian Irakli Bughridze Tactics: With most of the important transfers done, we look at the tactic. I still wasn't particularly happy with the tactic we had, the 433 DM was good occasionally, but often the wingers disappeared and we didn't create much. So I decided to move the left winger to the left striker position in a deep lying role (how else could I?), so Kokhreidze could still get playing time. I also changed the CM roles from CM on attack and a DLP to a Mezzala on attack with a box to box and both wing back are changed to full backs for more defending stability. Season Preview: The media had us in 4th, behind the top 3 of last year Dinamo Tbilisi, Batumi and Torpedo. Also Luka Silagadze getting some credit from the media as he got taken into the media dream eleven. I think 4th will be the aim obviously, so that'll mean European football, but I just hope we can stay in form for once. First half of the season: And boy did we stay in form, with just 3 points in 3 games I feared the worst, but boy did we changes the tides. Going unbeaten for 4 games in a row TWICE? I must be dreaming, but luckily we didn't. The CM's and the winger on the right we're our Talismen, keeping our run going and going. Also reaching the quarter final in the cup this first half of the season. Key players we're: - Luka Silagadze, who was scoring goals for fun and assisting loads aswell - Giorgi Kokhreidze, who did the same as Luka but in tenfold, absolute masterpiece putting him at striker - Taylor, who almost acted like a second winger/striker from the left scoring and assisting loads, but also gave the assist for the assist. - Roman Savchenko, sad he's loaned in, he's so good defensively ofcourse, but also a massive threat from corners. We did sadly get some typical FMings, especially against Gagra, our last game for the summerbreak. Also, we had our first Georgian national team call ups: - Lazare Kaputadze, who turned his form from last season around and did very good replacing Kulua, who got injured for 4 months. - Iuri Tabatadze, our homegrown left back did even better this year and was rewarded with a call up. Sadly, both didn't get any gametime, which is understandable. Second half of the season: So sitting in 2nd and in the quarter final of the cup, could we go all the way and do the double? No. Dinamo Tbilisi (who else?) killed our dreams immediately in the quarters knocking us out in convincing fashion, which looking at the score didn't look like it, but we hadn't had any chance. This defeat made us go on a little losing streak, after winning 5 (!) in a row. We lost to Sioni and Gagra, both getting FM'd ofcourse. After that I won couple in a row and then lost or drew a couple in a row, which sees us in a actual title race, vs Dinamo Tbilisi and Torpedo. Batumi had a very rough time, battling relegation most of the season. Then we received a glorious mail in the inbox... We secured Europe for the first time in the save. Then, the last game of the season, we lowkey bottled it, losing points twice in a row vs Dinamo Tbilisi, but I'm always hopeful. Us in 3rd, behind Tbilisi and Torpedo, definite top 3, with a humogous gap to 4th. Torpedo playing Batumi, who recovered their form with a new manager and winning the cup vs 2nd tier side Merani. Tbilisi playing Dila Gori, who could always be in for a suprise. We play Gagra, our absolute bogey team, hate playing against them with their Zambian topscorer Shonga, but we'll keep him in tone right? right?. We went off to an flying start, leading 4-2 at the break, sadly Tbilisi winning 2-0 but Torpedo still drawing. Then, after a blitsing 10 minutes we lead 6-3, a 6-3 lead after 55th minutes, surely we cant throw it away, surely. What... the flipping... ****... We absolutely lost it, every highlight was a goal, for either team, also us missing a pen, very sad times. Even sadder that Torpedo lost, and Tbilisi were drawing until the 86th minute, then they scored, which sends them to the title, Torpedo to 2nd and us in 3rd. Europe yay, title sadly not. Youth Intake: In all the title race shenanigans, we also had a youth intake. The preview handing us a confusing preview. An Excellent 5 star rating, but all C's, E's and F's, I wont be too looking forward to this intake to be fair. Looking at the best player, I cant complain: A quality striker, good finishing, decent pace, good mentals besides anticipation which we will be training straight away. Fickle personality is bad, but workable. Review: Looking at the squad, I'm happy with this team. The job they did was phenomenal, goals were spread all around the team, with 18 different players scoring this season. New striker Filipovic getting the most goal, followed by Kokhreidze, Silagadze and Maïga. Star man Kokhreidze took topspot with the assists, racking up 20 all over the season ending top in the league for assists. Looking at players leaving, our goldenboy, or supposed to be goldenboy, Kapanadze didn't get much playing time and isn't expected to be in the team next season so he's leaving on a free to Kolkheti. Our star man in defence Savchenko will go back to Ukrainian giant Shakhtar, might go back in for him but it seems unlikely we'll see him back next season. For potential transfers I'll be looking for is extra backup for the striker position, we've had our backups, but they didn't really turn up. Also a replacement for Savchenko will be needed, preferably a permanent player, not a loan. I also got a few youngsters who are developing well, but I'll show them in the next post, if they actually break through into the first team. That's it for season 2 in Georgia, get ready for a potential title race again and maybe, bring back the title back to Saburtalo. Thanks for reading all, until next time!!!
  8. First half season 1: The first season has finished at Saburtalo in Georgia, predicted to finish 5th and that was the main aim for me, solidating a midtable finish and stay clear of the relegation zone. The squad was very thin and money was quite scarce, so free loans were the move. Transfers: At the start of the season I looked for loans and cheap players to backup the first team. I signed 2 very cheap free transfers, 21 year old Brazilian midfielder who can also opperate as striker Taylor Rocha Fabricio, or short Taylor. The other free transfer, who eventually left on loan, was 34 year old Russian-Georgian right back Guram Tetrashvili. The other transfers were all loans, 4 in total, 1 of those left halfway through due to not playing alot. But here are those other 3: - first we have Guinean winger Amadou Doumbouya, loaned in from Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria. - second, we have Bulgarian CDM Emil Tsenov loaned in from CSKA 1948 -and then third, Romanian CM Alexandru Jipa from Hermannstadt Formation/Tactic: With those transfers done, we started the season. Early on we struggled alot, first game was in the Georgian supercup vs giants Dinamo Tbilisi, I thought we would try to survive which we did, we held our own. But without much going on we conceded 20 minutes before full time and couldn't force anything after. First loss, was to be expected but kinda proud. But after 3 points after 3 games, without creating much chances we switched our narrow 41212 to a 433 wide, playing Dinamo Tbilisi again, creating more and scoring 3, but conceding 5 sadly. After that defeat we just lost once in 9 games, but also drawing 5 games. We were creating alot but also conceding loads and loads of low quality shots. After a winless May we won twice on the bounce in June and drawing twice and then sadly losing to 2nd tier Merani in the cup. So after 20 games, just over half over the season, we sat in 7th, just one place above the relegation playoff spots. Second half of the season: After just over a month of no football we returned in mid August, with 2 new loanees: - Georgian striker Giorgi Guliashvili from FK Sarajevo - Ukrainian CM Mykhailo Khromei from Shakhtar Donetsk We began with a quality dispatching of Dila Gori, who were playing in Europe at the time. But once again we kept conceding stupid goals, drawing last place Samtredia 3-3 after being 3-1 up after 80 minutes. This trend kept going, losing 3-1 the game after, then 2 games where we actually won, 1-0 vs Shukura and then winning 3-2 vs Samgurali, we were 2-0 up, threw it away to 2-2 but our star man Luka Silagadze came up clutch with the 3-2 in the 80th minute. After loads of inconsistent games we couldnt find a rich vein of form, because those last 2 wins was the last time we won 2 games in a row. League table: This inconsistentcy sees us miss out of European football, ending 5th place. Dinamo Tbilisi won the league quite comfortably with Dinamo Batumi and Gagra behind them clinching the other European spots. Theres one European place open to clinch via the cup but the final is between Torpedo and Dinamo Tbilisi, so Torpedo will go into Europe either way. Our league finish is both disappointing and hopeful, becuase we underachieved massively, with the xG table having us in 3rd. Youth Intake: With us having the best facilities in the country was giving me hopes for the youth intake of this year, although Georgia doesnt have the best youth rating, I was still hoping for a stud, which we got, hopefully. Levan Tsulaia, thats the name, didnt know the name of the Georgian Messiah was going to be Levan, but I'm here for it. He's a good CDM with already solid all round stats, he will be part of the youth squad because I dont see him contributing to the first team yet, but maybe a sub appearance here or there. The Squad: The squad obviously underperformed, massively. To sum up the squad per position: - Goalies were shocking - Full backs were okay but were vulnerable at times - Centrebacks were shocking but decent at scoring corners - CDM was decent but is loaned in so wont see him next season potentially - CM's were phenomenal at times, but were also shocking at times - Wingers were decent, Saligadze was good and Doumbouya aswell, but if one of them were injured we were f*cked - Strikers were inconsistent, our journeyman striker was very inconsistent and our makeshift striker Kokhreidze was obviously more of a winger For the future of the squad, most of them will leave, the only players staying are Saligadze, Takatadze (the left back), Kapanadze (the right back), Taylor and Kokhreidze. All the other players will leave on frees, also freeing up some cash for us to search for replacements. I will put an big effort into searching for replacements with 3 full months of scouting players, as the Georgian league is a summer league that'll run from March till December. We got one pre contract coming in already, the first team goalie of Shukura, Gogi Kulua. He was 5th in the prevented goals chart (our 2 goalies were 13th and 15th) and didnt want too much of a wage. That's the overview of season 1, I'll be focusing more on other Georgian sides in Europe when I'm also in Europe, so hopefully next season. Stay safe folks, and like they say in Georgia! მოგვიანებით გნახავ
  9. Manager and Club: So let's take a look at the save. My manager is called Giorgi Sanikadze, he's a player I had in a save I did in Belgium in FM23 and I tend to use regens as managers in future saves. The club, FC Saburtalo Tbilisi, has the best facilities in the countries, yes better than Dinamo Batumi and Dinamo Tbilisi. They're predicted for a midtable finish, which is fair because the squad is quite good but very thin. Squad: Looking at the squad, we have a fairly decent team, star players being: - 23 year old forward minded Luka Silagadze who arrived this season from Latvian side Valmiera. - Also 23 year old left wingback Iuri Tabatadze who came through the academy. - 32 year old journeyman striker Irakli Sikharulidze with 2 caps and 1 goal for the Georgian national team. We're also losing 2 players on a free transfer already, because almost our whole team is out of contract at the end of the season, which I didn't notice.. God help me. Those players being CDM/CM Bakar Kardava and left back Irakli Komakhidze, so don't get to attached to them, because they're gone before you and even I notice. Tactic: The Tactic is gonna be a 41212, with almost all of our best players being centrally based players. My aim is to play a 3 back in game, with the right back tucking in and the left back overlapping, with the BWM running just in front of the back three. The midflield with a DLP, my fav, with a Mezzala on attack, wanting to add another player to the attack. An AM with instructions of move into channels and roam from position, I want the AM to be as free as a bird, run into spaces and play around the 2 strikers, an DLF and a AF. How the updates will work: So I'm planning to post season updates or maybe half seasons if there's stuff in January that's significant, but mainly expect full season updates. I hope I can do a season every week, depends with personal school/work stuff. Every season we will go through transfers in, transfers out, tactical changes if they change, pre-season, European games if we're in Europe, cups and of course the league preview and end of season league standings Thanks for reading, feel free to let me know some tips as this is my first real blog. Hope to see you at the next post!!!
  10. FM24 has finally arrived after countless of enjoyable months of FM23. A year of numerous unkown talents who were discovered by millions around the world, suprise packages seen by loads and players who's careers have been revived. If you're an absolute football enthousiast, you can put Napoli up there with the suprise packages, winning Serie A with comfortable fashion and making us become acquainted with the one, the only, Kvaradona AKA Kvicha Kvaratskhelia (Yes, I had to look up the correct spelling...). The man who was bought for pennies from Rubin Kazan turned into a culthero and probably soon a worldwide sensation, if he isn't already. Hailing from Georgian capital Tbilisi, Kvara lit up Serie A and European football with his dazzling dribbles and worldies of goals and assists. Georgia isn't a big footballing nation, their highest ranking being 42nd in 1998 with Shota Arveladze (former Ajax, Rangers and Trabzonspor striker) in their strikeforce. Now with Kvara being their new talisman, you would think their national team would thrive and be way better. That's sadly not the case, with Georgia sitting in 77th, out of EURO 2024 qualifying and losing 7-1 to Spain. The Future does look bright, with Kvaradona spearheading the national team and numerous talented players like Georges Mikautadze (Ajax and Ligue 2 topscorer last season) and Giorgi Mamardashvili (Valencia goalie) Georgia are destined for greatness, but only those players you can't win much. That's where we take over, I decided to takeover Georgian topflight side Saburtalo and try to support Kvara in his quest of making Georgia one of the big forces in European football. Welcome to Saving Private Kvara!
