  1. Update; So cannot believe I’m having to write this but I will keep it short. Basically, short story is I was on public transport Tuesday and a fellow commuter spilt his entire coffee onto my MacBook. Just had feedback from Apple Shop and MacBook has gone to MacHeaven - so what does this mean? I’m going to be having a new MacBook, yes great. However, I will have zero save data (yes I should have used Steam Cloud) so I will be restarting the save but trying to replicate what we have already done (staff signings, player transfers etc) to keep it as close to what we had. Or I can start the save completely fresh again, and just go with the flow? I’m looking to you the “readers” on what you’d prefer? all the best, Mr.Marvinn
  2. I was shocked/surprised when he applied for the role. There were other applicants with slightly better coaching stats, but who could turn down the opportunity of working with Kun!
  3. As the curtain descends on the current season, one sentiment echoes through the heart of Unionistas de Salamanca CF ‘pride’. Regardless of the season's final outcomes, every individual connected to the club can stand tall, reflecting on the remarkable achievements of the year. While outsiders may label the club's ascent to the top of the league as overachievement, those intimately involved. Luke Tudela, his dedicated staff, the resilient players, and the unwavering supporters, see it as a testament to their collective ambition. Yet, this pride extends beyond the pitch; it resonates in the transformative efforts led by Luke and the club off it. A revitalised club structure, a newfound identity permeating every facet, and the strategic addition of staff members, blending youthful potential with seasoned expertise, this is more than just a season; it's the inception of a transformative era. We, too, wholeheartedly agree, the future shines brightly for Unionistas de Salamanca CF. Not another giant killing? No, the stars didn't align for the club this time. Nevertheless, the players can walk away with their heads held high, their performance on the pitch a testament to their grit and determination. Facing the formidable 'Club Deportivo Tenerife,' the team displayed resilience, taking the battle all the way to penalties after an exceptional defensive effort that spanned 120 minutes. In a cruel twist, the shootout didn't swing in favour, as two missed penalties saw Unionistas de Salamanca CF bow out of the cup. Despite the outcome, the match showcased the indomitable spirit of their players, leaving a lasting impression of a team that fought valiantly against a formidable opponent. Partnership Secured As part of the ongoing transformative initiatives spearheaded by Luke Tudela and the club, Unionistas de Salamanca CF has achieved a milestone by securing a senior affiliate partnership with 'Futbol Club Andorra.' Luke Tudela expressed his enthusiasm, stating; Is he really coming out of retirement? While the dream of seeing Sergio Agüero donning the Unionistas de Salamanca CF jersey in a striker's role may not be coming true, the spirits are soaring as he takes on a new position, joining the clubs backroom staff under the guidance of Luke Tudela. In an unexpected twist, Sergio will be trying out his coaching boots for the first time, and Luke couldn't be more thrilled. Luke announced; Who said retirement couldn't be fun? 4. I can honestly say the palms were sweaty throughout the second half. That final extended highlight my heart dropped, and well the wife did not seem impressed with my screaming when the outcome showed itself. Appreciate the feedback on writing style.
  5. As we step into the winter break for Primera Federación Grupo I, the standout narrative of the season unfolds with Unionistas de Salamanca CF and their youthful maestro, Luke Tudela. Currently perched at the summit of the league, a mere two points ahead of Barcelona Atlètic and three points clear of Lugo, Unionistas' ascent is more than just a leaderboard triumph. At the heart of this feel-good story is the rise of local prodigy Luke Tudela, entrusted with the managerial reins at a tender age, defying the conventional wisdom that age dictates success. It's a narrative that challenges the norm, proving that sometimes, age is merely a number. Tactically, Luke Tudela has woven a masterpiece that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is effective. The art of possession, a defence akin to an impregnable fortress rivaling the Great Wall of China, and an attacking prowess mirroring the giants of European football (think Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid), this is the canvas on which Unionistas paints their victories. The squad, akin to butter seamlessly meeting bread, a beer settling into a pint glass, or a duck effortlessly taking to water, has embraced this new style. The fluidity with which they execute Luke's vision is not just a testament to their skill but also to the harmonious blend of youthful exuberance and tactical acumen. As the league heads into hibernation for the winter, the story of Unionistas de Salamanca CF and Luke Tudela echoes far beyond the pitch, resonating with a community that believes in the extraordinary journey of a local hero leading his team to the zenith of success. Staff Improvements The winds of change have swept through the backroom staff, ushering in a new era with the addition of four invaluable members to Luke's team. Described by Luke as a 'pivotal point for the club,' the reinforcement of our behind-the-scenes crew was a strategic goal set at the beginning of the season, and it has proven to be a game-changer. Expressing his pride in the individuals who have joined the Unionistas family (Pedro, Joe, Susanna, and Alexandre) Luke extends a heartfelt thank you. Their belief in his vision, aligned with the aspirations of the board and supporters, has been the driving force behind this transformative move. Coaches: Joe Roach (Head of Development) Recruitment: Pedro Venâncio (Chief Scout) | Alexandre Paulo (Scout) Medical: Susanna Plujà (Head Physio) Additionally, in a commitment to continuous improvement, both Luke Tudela and Turi have embarked on personal journeys to obtain new coaching badges. Their dedication to honing their coaching skills is a testament to their commitment to Unionistas de Salamanca CF. If all goes according to plan, we can expect to see these new qualifications within the next 4 to 12 months. The holistic growth, both in the staff and in the coaching expertise of Luke and Turi, is poised to shape the future success of Unionistas de Salamanca CF. Player Movements Within the playing squad, there have been some noteworthy developments. As part of pre-planned transfers announced at the onset of the season, several players arrived on loan with great anticipation. However, regrettably, their performances fell short of the expectations set by Luke, the coaching staff, and the dedicated supporters. Consequently, after careful consideration, Luke Tudela has made the tough decision to terminate the loans of two players; Slavy (Striker) & Carlos Giménez (Central Defender) Another notable move involves the sale of Ewan Roy Urain Aird to Cove Rangers, fetching a total amount of €13.75k. This strategic decision aligns with the ongoing efforts to fine-tune the squad, ensuring it mirrors the vision and standards set by Luke Tudela for Unionistas de Salamanca CF. These decisions, while tough, reflect the club's commitment to maintaining a roster that best serves our collective aspirations on the field. In the spirit of strategic squad evolution, there's also exciting news on the incoming front. Unionistas de Salamanca CF has secured the signature of young right-back Wictor Gabriel from BAH on a Free Transfer. The acquisition, set to be completed on the 20th of March 2024, marks a promising addition to our ranks. This young Brazilian talent, recommended by Joe Roach (Head of Development), brings a fresh perspective to our squad and will seamlessly integrate with the Unionistas Under 19s squad. It's a move that underscores the commitment to nurturing emerging talents and ensuring a dynamic and competitive future for Unionistas de Salamanca CF. New Contract In a resounding statement ending recent transfer speculations, Jon Rojo has inked a new two-year contract, sealing his commitment to Unionistas de Salamanca CF. The substantial deal, valued at €170,000, reverberates as significant news for the supporters and has elicited widespread positivity. A Giant Killing In a true David vs. Goliath spectacle in the Copa Del Rey, Unionistas de Salamanca CF defied the odds, emerging victorious against Getafe in a match that will be etched in the chronicles of the club's history. The gripping encounter reached its climax in the 90+3 minute when young sensation Hugo De Bustos etched his name into the narrative, delivering a match-winning goal that sent shockwaves through the Spanish football world. The roar of the Unionistas faithful echoed far beyond the pitch, as the underdog triumphed against the odds, showcasing the indomitable spirit that defines our beloved club. The best Christmas gift! In a statement brimming with emotion, he shared; The festive cheer extends beyond the holiday season as Unionistas fans celebrate not only the victories on the pitch but also the unwavering commitment of their local hero, Luke Tudela, steering the club towards a future filled with promise and passion
  6. Thank you for the kind words. I'm trying to find that balance between reporter looking in from the outside / the biography writer for Luke Tudela. It was, as right now the club doesn't really have a rivalry (maybe it's something that can develop within game). So I've managed to import home and away kits with the elephants on, weren't able to find the third kit though.
  7. Really appreciate the feedback, especially from someone like yourself Shrew! The club has a fascinating background, and nothing better than a club 100% owned and run by it's supporters. I'm not a writer to any degree, so please do share some criticism/thoughts on how the writing could be improved.
  8. Three months have swiftly passed since Luke Tudela took the reins at Unionistas de Salamanca CF, and it has been a rollercoaster ride of events and emotions. During this time, there have been numerous exhilarating highs that have electrified Luke, the club, and its devoted supporters. Yet, in the midst of these euphoric moments, there have also been moments of adversity. The journey commenced with a promising pre-season camp, with the team securing a draw and then embarking on a remarkable six-match winning streak. It showed how much hard work the players were putting in on the training ground to properly emerse themselves into this new tactical philsophy, and the results were happening almost immediately. The Debut On the 27th of August 2023, a date etched with anticipation on every Unionistas de Salamanca CF supporter's calendar, marked the grand debut of their new maestro, Luke Tudela. The stage was set at the illustrious Reina Sofia Stadium, their fortress, against the formidable Sociedad Deportiva Logroñés—no easy initiation, to say the least. Would the evening be a symphony of triumph, marking a dream start with a glorious win, or would it be a bitter sip of defeat (who cares about a draw, anyway)? The fervent supporters made their presence felt for miles, their roar at kick-off deafening even to the players. But this wasn't a one-time spectacle; the chants echoed relentlessly throughout the game. Then, in the 8th minute, Alvaro slotted home a penalty, turning the stadium into a cauldron of euphoria. As if on cue, black and white teddies soared across the pitch in jubilation—an agreed-upon celebration between the supporters and the board for the first goal under Luke's tenure. It was the goal that not only sealed the deal but also crafted the dream beginning for Luke Tudela, Unionistas de Salamanca CF, and the 4,122 passionate home fans. The following three weeks The team, under Luke's guidance, had been riding a wave of success, evading defeat since his takeover, fostering a sense of invincibility. However, the reality check arrived in the form of an away match against Real Unión Club, resulting in a hard-fought 1-0 loss and marking Luke Tudela's first setback in senior management. Despite the defeat, there were ample positives to extract, as Luke pointed out: This defeat, although a bitter pill to swallow, showcased the team's commitment to the tactical philosophy and their ability to perform at a high level even when results didn't swing their way. Unfortunately, the trend of results not swinging in our favour seemed to persist in the following weeks, with two consecutive draws in the next two games. Despite dominating possession and creating scoring opportunities, sealing the deal proved elusive. These draws, while not the ideal outcomes, further emphasised the team's resilience and commitment to executing the tactical philosophy. Luke Tudela remained steadfast, acknowledging the need for fine-tuning while maintaining confidence in the squad's ability to turn the tide. remarked Luke, underscoring the team's determination to stay true to their style of play even in the face of challenges. The journey continues, and with each match, the team is refining their approach, learning, and growing stronger together. Ending the first three months in style The truth of growing stronger together was evident, with the extra minutes on the training ground translating into success on the pitch. The conclusion of September marked a triumphant period, with three games and three wins under our belt. Beyond the favorable results, it was the manner in which the squad achieved them that truly stood out. Possession per game saw a marked improvement, showcasing the team's evolving tactical prowess. Teamwork and communication reached unprecedented heights, fostering a cohesive and dynamic playing style. What captured the supporters' attention was not just the victories but Luke's strategic squad rotations and his unwavering trust in the club's youth. The integration of young talents not only added freshness to the lineup but also exemplified Luke's commitment to nurturing the future stars of Unionistas de Salamanca CF. As we celebrated the victories, it was clear that the collective growth, honed through rigorous training and a refined approach, was leaving a lasting imprint on the pitch. Here is a quick snapshot of the analysis of the squads last five matches. How is the table looking? How is the squad looking? Can we take this form into the Christmas break? Who knows? Let me know your thoughts!

  11. On Luke's first day as the manager of Unionistas de Salamanca CF, the atmosphere is electric with anticipation. Stepping through the front office doors, he is greeted with open arms by none other than Raúl Touriño Moro, fondly known as Turi. This warm reunion feels like coming back to the place where it all began, a place that has always been home to Luke. Their connection runs deep, dating back to their childhood. Living just a few houses apart, their families spent summer holidays together, and the sound of footballs being kicked around the streets was a familiar symphony. What's remarkable is how their roles have reversed over the years. Turi, nine years Luke's senior, used to be the wise elder, but today, he's the one who listens. Having served as a goalkeeping coach at Unionistas since 2016, Turi is ready to support Luke in this new chapter of their shared football journey. What about the other staff members at Unionistas de Salamanca CF? Will any of the staff members be leaving? Luke’s Response: Coaches: Daniel Llàcer (Assistant Manager) | Ramón Trapero (Fitness Coach) Recruitment: Rubén Andrés (Director of Football) Medical: Victor Abelleira (Chief Doctor) What are the aims and objectives for this season? At the heart of our club's identity is the spirit of supporter ownership and involvement. To honour our commitment to our dedicated fanbase, we have established clear objectives for this season. Our primary aim, as consistently voiced by our supporters, is to "secure our place in Primera Federación Grupo I". In addition to this core goal, we will also focus on the following objectives: Cultivating a distinctive tactical philosophy. Strengthening our recruitment team. Acquiring players who blend Brazilian flair with Spanish discipline. Achieving a positive win/loss ratio. How does the current squad look? Future transfers ins and outs discussion. The current squad is relatively small, yet it comprises a pool of talented players who align with our season's objectives. While the squad shows promise, Luke acknowledges a few areas that require immediate attention. The trust has already provided valuable guidance, informing Luke of several pre-arranged incoming and outgoing transfers scheduled for the upcoming weeks. Transfers-in (pre-arranged) Defenders: Carlos Giménez (Central Defender) | Ekaitz Jiménez (Left Back) *can also play anywhere on the left Midfielders Part 1: Adri Gómez (Defensive Midfielder) | Javi Villar (Defensive Midfielder) | Alfred Planas (Right Midfielder) | Juan Serrano (Central Attacking Midfielder) Midfielders Part 2: Asier Teijeira (Left Midfielder) | Jorge Rastrojo (Right Attacking Midfielder) | Alejandro Peralvo (Left Attacking Midfielder) | Ale Ramos (Left Attacking Midfielder) Forwards: Slavy (Poacher) | Ewan Roy Urain Aird (Target Forward) Transfers-out (pre-arranged) Defenders: Alfredo Pedraza (Central Defender) Midfielders: Ramón Blázquez (Right Attacking Midfielder) | Ahn June-Hyuk (Left Attacking Midfielder) Tactical Philosophy Let's finish off with the discussion around the tactical philosophy that supporters are likely to see at Unionistas de Salamanca CF. Luke’s vision is to adopt a modern and dynamic tactical approach, drawing inspiration from the modern likes of Pep Guardiola, Jürgen Klopp, and Arsene Wenger. However, the distinct touch will be the infusion of Salamanca flair, embodying the Brazilian influence that has shaped Luke's football upbringing. On paper, the tactic will look something like:
  12. As the sun sets on one chapter of my footballing journey, I find myself standing at the crossroads of opportunity and challenge, ready to pen a new story in the world of football management. With a sense of excitement and anticipation, I embark on my latest venture as the manager of Unionistas de Salamanca CF. My name is Luke Tudela, and this historic club is now under my guidance. This blog will be the chronicle of our trials and triumphs, the highs and lows, and the journey to transform this club into a footballing force to be reckoned with. I promise that this journey to be a remarkable one, filled with nostalgia, ambition, and a determination to bring glory to the club that is etched into my very soul. Who is Luke Tudela? Why all the buzz amongst those in Salamanca? Luke Tudela's roots in Salamanca run deep, intertwined with the very fabric of the city. Born on September 27, 2000 and raised in this historic town, Luke's upbringing was a unique blend of cultural influences. His mother, a Brazilian native, relocated to Salamanca for her university studies, where she met his Spanish father, a dedicated researcher at the prestigious Centro de Investigación del Cáncer. Their home was a mere two-minute walk from the iconic Pistas del Helmántico stadium, the former home of Unionistas de Salamanca CF, and it remains so to this day. Growing up in such close proximity to the stadium, the roar of the crowd and the vibrant football culture of the city became an integral part of Luke's childhood. His afternoons were often spent watching matches from the stadium's stands, dreaming of the day when he might be the one calling the shots from the dugout. The fusion of Brazilian flair and Spanish discipline in his household shaped his football philosophy, and he developed a deep passion for the game. Described as a tactical nerd, slightly awkward, a factory of quirk. Now, Luke Tudela’s dream has come true, as he takes the reins at Unionistas de Salamanca CF. The young history of Unionistas de Salamanca CF. In the heart of Salamanca, where tradition and passion for the beautiful game converge, stands Unionistas de Salamanca CF, a club deeply rooted in the city's history. This is no ordinary football club. Unionistas is a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of community in the world of football. Founded in 2013, the club's establishment marked a turning point in the footballing landscape of Salamanca. What truly sets Unionistas apart is its unique identity as a supporter-owned and supporter-run club. It was born out of a collective desire to preserve the rich footballing heritage of the city, especially after the dissolution of the original Salamanca CF. The supporters took matters into their own hands, forming a club that was not just a team on the field, but a symbol of unity and resilience off it. Unionistas de Salamanca CF has since grown from strength to strength, with the fans at the heart of every decision, from selecting the club's crest to appointing its manager. The ownership model has fostered a sense of belonging that runs deep within the community. Luke’s Statement:
