  1. Luton Town - 2024/25 Season - Second Half January Transfer Window In Max Kilman from Wolves - 20M Onni Valakari from Pafos - 1M (he's born in Motherwell and have Scotland as 2nd nationality) Mark McGuinness from Cardiff - 14M Out Reece Burke to Coventry - 4.4M Daniel James to Al-Ahli (KSA) - 29M Kortney Hause to Fulham - 23M Competitions Premier League Even with the sales and with all the team rotation due to fatigue and injuries, we continued our brilliant form in the 2nd half of the season. The only real hiccup was the last match, where I heavily rotated the squad. 4th place. Can you believe that? At the start of the season I was happy if we could repeat last season, and we did even better. Champions League here we go... Domestic Cups Nothing much to say. I was rotating the squad and prioritizing the league. But a nice run anyway. Data For anyone interested, the offensive, defensive and general team data. We were above average most of the season, but we can still improve. About next season we have some things to consider. Teams are sniffing around our players again and, if a good deal comes our way, I don't know if I'll be able to keep them. We also will be changing the formation, to something I prefer using (will drop the 4-3-3 to a secondary slot), so we might have some hiccups next season as the team adapts. But why am I worrying, if they forget the tactical familiarity when going on vacation anyways...
  2. Luton Town - 2024/25 - September to December So we're in a kind of interesting situation. Remember last season when we had those slogs of bad form, where we would have some wins then a slump of losses? Well, it's working kinda similar this season, but instead of losses, we're the Draw Kings. We're nowhere near the relegation battle, on the contrary. We're in a transitional season, considering all the deals done. The high point for me was the 2-1 win over City. It was at our home, but still. 6th place. We might even end in an european spot. At least that's what I'm aiming for. And, for anyone interested, those are our stats. Oh, and some more info: In the FA Cup we're currently in the 3rd Round against Manchester United. This match will be played 3 days before the EFL Cup Semi Final First Leg, that will be played against Liverpool.

Despite narrowly missing out on European qualification, the team's performances reflect progress and competitiveness under your management. Let's recap Luton Town's Premier League matches and recent transfer activity: Luton Town 0 - 0 West Ham United Luton began the season with a solid goalless draw against West Ham United, showcasing defensive stability and determination to earn a point against tough opposition. Luton Town 0 - 0 Crystal Palace: Luton maintained their unbeaten run with another goalless draw against Crystal Palace, showcasing defensive solidity and discipline to earn a valuable point. In terms of transfer activity, Luton Town made three more strategic signings to strengthen the squad: Rhys Norrington-Davies (Left-Back): Signed from Sheffield United to replace Alfie Doughty (who left for the saudis), Norrington-Davies adds quality and depth to the left-back position. David Brooks (Attacking Midfielder): Signed from Bournemouth to enhance attacking options, facilitating the departure of Cauley Woodrow. Looking ahead, Luton Town's strong start to the season sets a positive foundation for the challenges ahead. With a balanced squad and tactical acumen, the team is well-equipped to compete and achieve their objectives in the Premier League. 4. We managed to pull it off, I don't know how. Let's hope I can repeat it this season and don't fall to the Second Season Syndrome. It doesn't show because we're not in Europe. I was thinking that the winner of the FA Cup would add another slot if said winner already had an european spot, but apparently I was wrong. Norwich won the Carabao Cup, so I wonder of that have anything to do with it. And currently I'm training all my sidebacks in other positions, because I plan on using a 3-at-the-back tactic next season. They either will adapt or be sold/loaned.

  6. Luton Town - 2023/24 Season - February to May Looks like we found a pattern. We win some matches, then go into a slump. Win some more, slump. I hope I can fix that for the next season, but still, amazing results considering the team we have. Next season my aim is to win at least one match against one of the big teams. So we finish in an amazing 7th place! Considering what was expected of the team, it was nothing short of amazing. The FA Cup Final will be between Liverpool and Arsenal, so we might even get an european slot for next season. Talking about next season, some teams are sniffing around our players, so we might be forced to sell. Considering our restrictions, I will need to be very careful when selling. The board set the wage budget at 1M and the transfer budget at 51M, so some deals will happen.
  7. Luton Town - 2023/24 Season - December and January So everything is going according to the plan... if the plan is win some matches, go into a slog and do it all again, because that's what's looks like we're doing. The Bournemouth match we were FM'd. Other than that, the wins were matches where we played better, and the losses... well, at least we haven't got humiliated or anything. The team is working, it's just that I think we can do better, I just don't have all the tools for it. We're still in 8th place, and I think that, with 2 or 3 more wins, we're gonna be safe. In January we did two deals, one in and one out. The saudis came knocking and I got them to agree to pay 20M to get Chiedozie Ogbene. Of that amount, I spent 8.5M on the signing of transfer-listed Daniel James from Leeds. Other than that, a few players leaving on loans and a few players leaving on small fees, everything is the same. I forgot that we can only sign english players on pre-contracts one month before the end of the contract, and not six months before. -_- Tactic is still a 4-3-3 with a Balanced/Cautious mentality and a few instructions. I'm not that big on details/updates, so feel free to ask anything.
  8. Luton Town - 2023/24 Season - September to November The wins were all matches where we played better, and the losses were expected, considering the opposition. Now, about the draws, the Liverpool one we were extremely lucky, since they completely dominated the match, and we almost got all 3 points, but they equalized in the 96th minute, and considering that it was 3 minutes of injury time... well... The other draws we were supposed to win, but we just couldn't finish the job. I hope those draws don't come back to bite us in the end. Now about the league standings: 8th place is a very creditable spot, considering that we're predicted to finish 20th. Now we have the chaotic month of december to navigate, and the january transfer window. The good news is that I'm only missing Tom Lockyer, all the others are back from their injuries. Will probably update again once I'm done with the january window.
  9. Matchday 01: Luton 2 - 0 Everton Brown '18 '50 11 - Shots - 12 6 - On Target - 5 1.39 - xG - 0.65 56 - Possession - 44 Matchday 02: Manchester City 1 - 0 Luton Haaland '66 17 - Shots - 3 4 - On Target - 0 1.47 - xG - 0.34 74 - Possession - 26 Matchday 03: Luton 4 - 1 Brighton Adebayo '32 Morris (p) '37 Ogbene '72 Mpanzu '86 | João Pedro '16 19 - Shots - 5 9 - On Target - 2 2.65 - xG - 1.56 54 - Possession - 46 Matchday 04: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 4 Luton Caicedo '54 Semedo '58 | Brown '19 Morris '57 Campbell '69 Townsend '89 6 - Shots - 23 4 - On Target - 11 1.13 - xG - 3.80 38 - Possession - 62 Carabao Cup Match Report: Cheltenham Town 0 - 2 Luton Town Doughty '3 '40 4 - Shots - 15 1 - On Target - 6 0.27 - xG - 1.24 42 - Possession - 58 So currently we're sitting 2nd (!?) in the league, and I simply can't understand our starting form. Of course I hope it keeps on going like that, but I kind of doubt that. We'll either be a surprise or we'll fall to where we're supposed to be. Transfer News: Tom Heaton and Kourtney Hause Join Luton Town Luton Town has bolstered their squad with two significant signings in the transfer window, acquiring the services of goalkeeper Tom Heaton from Manchester United for a bargain fee of £85,000 and defender Kourtney Hause from Aston Villa for £2.8 million. The arrival of Tom Heaton adds valuable experience and leadership to Luton's goalkeeping department, providing competition and guidance for the team's young shot-stoppers. Heaton's wealth of Premier League experience and proven quality make him a valuable addition to the squad as Luton look to continue their upward trajectory. Meanwhile, Kourtney Hause's arrival strengthens Luton's defensive options, with the versatile defender bringing athleticism, physicality, and top-flight experience to the team. Hause's versatility and ability to play across the backline provide manager [Manager's Name] with added flexibility and depth as they seek to compete on multiple fronts. The signings of Heaton and Hause underscore Luton Town's ambition and determination to build a competitive squad capable of challenging the best teams in the league. With these additions to their ranks, Luton Town fans can look forward to an exciting second half of the season as their team continues to chase success on all fronts.
  10. Thanks. Yeah, the idea for this first season is survival. Everything else is a bonus.
  11. Tactical Overview Luton Town adopts a cautious 4-3-3 formation, prioritizing defensive solidity while aiming to exploit opposition weaknesses on the counter. With one defensive midfielder shielding the backline and two central midfielders providing a balance of defensive cover and attacking support, this setup aims to control the midfield battles and capitalize on transitional moments. Squad Overview Goalkeepers: James Shea and Jack Walton offer a dependable goalkeeping duo, with Shea likely to take the starting role due to his experience and consistency between the posts. Defenders: The defensive line features a blend of experience and youth, with Ryan Giles and Alfie Doughty providing options at full-back, supported by Todd Kane and Reece Burke. Liam Moore, Teden Mengi, Tom Holmes, Amari'i Bell, and Rhys Williams form a solid core at center-back, with Moore expected to lead the backline with his leadership and organizational skills. Midfielders: Dan Gosling and Allan Campbell anchor the midfield, providing defensive stability and tenacity in midfield battles. Ross Barkley brings creativity and vision to the central midfield role, while Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu offers energy and dynamism to drive the team forward. Louie Watson and Luke Berry provide depth and competition in midfield. Wingers: Andros Townsend adds experience and quality on the wing, with Chiedozie Ogbene providing pace and trickery on the opposite flank. Carlton Morris and Jacob Brown offer depth and versatility, capable of making an impact off the bench or in rotational roles. Strikers: Elijah Adebayo leads the line with his physical presence and aerial ability, supported by the predatory instincts of Cauley Woodrow and the youthful potential of Jason McAtee. Overall Strategy: Under the cautious 4-3-3 system, Luton Town prioritizes defensive stability while remaining opportunistic in attack. The midfield trio focuses on controlling the midfield battles and disrupting opposition play, while also providing support to the forwards during attacking transitions. The wingers look to stretch the opposition defense and provide quality delivery into the box, while the strikers aim to capitalize on any scoring opportunities that arise. Flexibility and adaptability will be crucial as Luton Town navigates the challenges of the Premier League, with a disciplined and pragmatic approach laying the foundation for success.
  12. Luton Town's journey in the Premier League takes an unexpected turn as we confront a dual challenge: injuries to key players and the imperative to strengthen our squad. Upon my arrival, the news of Tom Lockyer, Gabriel Osho, Dan Potts and Jordan Clark's sidelined status due to injuries presents an immediate hurdle. Yet, with resolve and determination, we embrace this adversity as an opportunity to showcase the depth of our squad and reinforce our ranks. Tom Lockyer, Gabriel Osho, Dan Potts and Jordan Clark, already nursing injuries upon my appointment, signify a significant loss to our defensive line. Their absence demands swift action, prompting us to delve into the transfer market to secure reinforcements. In response, we announce the signings of Liam Moore, Todd Kane, Dan Gosling, and Rhys Williams, each handpicked to address the void left by the injured quartet. Liam Moore's arrival injects experience and composure into our defense, mitigating the absence of Lockyer's leadership. Todd Kane's signing adds dynamism and versatility to our full-back options, offering a solution to the absence of Osho and Clark. Meanwhile, Dan Gosling's presence in midfield bolsters our strength and provides stability in the center of the park. Lastly, Rhys Williams embodies our commitment to nurturing young talent, offering promise and potential for the future. As we integrate our new signings into the squad, we foster a sense of unity and cohesion that transcends individual contributions. The injuries serve as a rallying cry for our collective resolve, galvanizing us to overcome adversity and excel on the pitch. I can only have in my team players from one of the five nations (England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland), or that have a british passport. The exception are players from a british team's youth academy. 2. Players that doesn't fit this criteria will be released, and 25% of their value will be added to the transfer budget (this is for the first season). 3. All Luton loans are cancelled, so I can evaluate the players and do my own deals. I'm not a loan fan, I don't like the idea of using players that I don't own, but we'll see...
  14. Deportivo Alavés - End of Season 4 So the season is over and I just got the following message: Worth reading!? Really!? Oh c'mon, can I fire this guy??? NO THAT'S NOT WORTH READING!!! So basically yeah, we finished 2nd in La Liga this season with 94 points, 3 behind goddamn Barcelona. In the Copa del Rey we defeated Barcelona in the Semi Final.... just to lose to Real Madrid in the Final. In the Europa League we lost in the Quarter Final to Arsenal... I doubt we will actually challenge for the league title next season because.... 6 (not sure of the exact number) players are leaving us at the end of the season for nice amounts of money, but I'm not sure I will be able to replace them accordingly. Joshua Kitolano, Nicolò Fagioli, Abdallahi Mahmoud, Kang-In Lee and Álex Collado are all leaving us for a combined total of around 190 million pounds. Oh well, back to the drawing board then...
  15. Deportivo Alavés - Start of Season 4 Like I said in the previous post, I was gonna analyze the squad and go to the market if needed. Well, some teams came sniffing around my players, so that was kinda of a necessity. I managed to get some very nice players, some even on "transfer listed by request" stats, so even better. The following is my main squad for the season. Yellow boxes means that the player is a regen. And my tactic... well, it is a bit of an odd one, but it is what I like and it is working at least for now, so... yeah. I hope that I can get some silverware with those players, so let's see what we can achieve.
