In my current save the past two end of seasons (2031 and 2032) did not have the end of year recap information display. The email that it is usually attached to came in my inbox but there was no button to click. Did I accidentally change some setting or is there another way to get it, or do I need to head over to the bugtracker?
Thanks.

Hopefully this is a quickfire question:
What are the tradeoffs involved in leaving someone in their playing position training and training them for a specific role? I understand the latter trains the specific attributes for the chosen role, but aside from wanting that specificity why would you choose one of these over the other?

Nice post. My experience with players wanting to leave has been that it is often worth it to agree with them on a price because they often will agree to a price high enough that either no one will pay it or you will be ok if they do. They are then barely happy for a couple of transfer windows but then give it up.

That depends entirely on your desired style of play and has nothing to do with a 4231 or any particular formation.
Ok, I favor a balanced and flexible style but what I am taking from this response is that in at least some situations having two BPDs would be fine so I can't be going too far wrong. Thx!

In a 4-2-3-1, and assuming you have players that are fit for the role, is there any reason to avoid having both CDs be BPD/De?

Apologies if this is a basic question. I've only been playing FM20 (and now FM21) since the Epic free FM20 offer, and I am still learning something about the game all the time.
When I go to the reports tab on a player and click on form I can see under "Feedback" a record of assistant managers' comments related to games. Some are obviously ones I have received in game in the Dugout, such as "[player] is looking exhausted out there". But some I do not receive during matches or at least not in a way that I am seeing and so I wonder if I have missed something. Specifically pregame comments relating to looking complacent in warm ups or "[player] is having some issues motivating himself to play with [player] as our captain". Or even during game stuff like "[player] has not been hitting his shots on target today."
Is there a place I can look for these or a setting I can change so I get them timely?

Hey @Kyle Brown
I have uploaded the save file named Napoli-Zebre Three Match in a Row Press Conference bug.fm . You can see the match history in the schedule and the top email in the Inbox is the press conference notification. The question is the first question asked at that press conference. Happy bug hunting!

Managing Napoli, in 2032, I am against Zebre in the semi-final of the Italian Cup, and one of my league games against Zebre was scheduled in between the two games of the Cup tie. I won the 1st leg in the cup and, subsequently, drew the league game. I am now at the press conference before the second game of teh Cup tie and was asked a question in the press conference that assumed that I drew the CUP game. I have a save game if you need it, though I will be honest and say that to my mind this is such an odd occurrence that I'm not sure it is worth the programming time to fix.
Cheers for a great game!

Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone. Happy to have found this place for my new favorite game.

I am pretty new to FM just having started playing FM20 this year, but I have played a lot of matches and seen plenty of things go both ways. In my current save I am managing Forest Green and in year 4 we found ourselves second in the Championship by three points with two games to play and a good goal differential advantage, with the 16th and 20th place teams on the schedule. We went draw-loss and fell out of the automatic promotion spots to fourth. In both games we had more chances and in the draw it was a late equalizer.
First leg of the playoffs against Birmingham we basically get run off the pitch and lose 4-1.
Second leg at home we go up 4-0 (5-4), concede 2 to go down 4-2 (5-6), and then score 2 more to win 6-2(7-6).
Final is against preseason favorites Wolves who finished third. This game THEY have the better of the possession and chances but we manage to score the only goal and pull out the unlikely 1-0 win.
Two years later in a similar position in the prem we are fourth with three games to play, Two of which were against bottom-third teams including the team that was last and finished last. We lose all three to not only fall out of the Champions League but even out of the Europa league and finish seventh. Two of the three games we had the better of the possession/chances, one was pretty even.
Last year we recovered from four straight one-goal losses in the fall to find ourselves fourth with two games to play, but one of which was against leaders and eventual champions Man City, which boasts a powerful lineup including Haaland. They had beaten us 2-0 at the Emirates earlier in the season. This time at home we play them pretty evenly somehow and get a nervy 1-0 win, then also win our next game to secure fourth. Then comes the FA Cup final against — you guessed it — Man City. This time although it’s pretty even xG wise we take our chances and they do not and we win comfortably 3-0.
Fourth game of the current season we play them again and get run off the pitch, losing 3-0.
The point of these stories is that as frustrating as some of the losses can be sometimes I must grudgingly admit that there are also times we win games we have no business winning. So I think there’s a lot of randomness involved.

Thanks, but for those sessions is the familiarity based on the position/role they are training for or the one that they have most recently played or something else?

Apologies for the basic questions, but I am relatively new to FM (one of those sucked in by the free Epic offer)
When you have players accomplished and with traits for a variety of positions in your tactic, is it possible for them to become fluid in multiple positions or must I choose one and then live with a lack of familiarity when playing them in different positions. If the latter, is the lack of familiarity a sufficient enough penalty that it is better to play a slightly worse player with fluidity than a slightly better player without? What is the best way to handle a squad in which you have several players that can play multiple attacking midfielder/striker/midfielder roles?

- Playing as Forest Green, took in Callum Wright on loan at start of 21/22 season
- Purchased player outright during January transfer window, new contract included clause increasing salary after 25 league games played
- Save game attached on 22 Jan 22, post transfer but before triggering clause
Steps to Reproduce
- I have uploaded a save game called "Callum Wright K issue.fm"
- Save game will load on the 22 of January 2020
- Observe Callum Wright's contract entered into on 06Jan22 with clause increasing salary after 25 league games played
- Play Callum Wright in next game, observe message saying clause will be triggered in one more game.
- Play next game, clause triggers.

I have also experienced this issue:
- Playing as Forest Green, Odin Baily was on loan at start. I did not check what he had been promised (Central Attacking Mid, Shadow Striker) and was playing him as a Striker
- About halfway through 20-21 season got the interaction as above, tried to "convince" choosing the option that said something like 'do you really care, I'm playing him a lot'? Coach went away but player was unhappy of my treatment of him.
- From then on played him in requested position. At end of season coach dialogue came up and he recognized that since that talk I had played him "exclusively" in the requested position. Player still unhappy.
- I negotiated a renewed loan for following season. It is now midway through, I have kept playing him in position except for an odd change late in a game here and there, but player remains concerned of my treatment of him. Seems stuck.
- Save Game says too big to upload but I may have successfully uploaded it to ownCloud (hard to tell), called "bug rpt - hiring player as coach.fm"
- I also uploaded Save Game to OneDrive and it is available here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aqj_fRA8vJKJsAXMnfbwRz_VmqBw?e=J1uTEz

What causes this disparity between estimated wages and actual wage demands?
in Football Manager General Discussion

For me, it is sometimes that the scouting report is old, and things have changed. For example, I have had some unpleasant surprises looking at estimated wages before we were promoted when trying to make the signing after promotion with a much larger wage budget.
