  1. Hi all, I am working on a database for myself and I was wondering if it would be possible to create a table ranking teams through a points system given in light of achievements. So for example, if a team won the league they would get 3 points, if they finished 2nd or 3rd they would get 2 points and if they won the cup that team would get say 2 points. This system would be in place throughout the duration of the save, tallying teams' results as the years go by. Is such a thing possible?

I was also wondering if it would be possible, in a league system shaped like the MLS, to force team X in one group to play team Y in another group every year. For example, would it be possible to make LAFC play the New York Red Bulls every year as part of the non-conference games in the MLS?

Thanks and good luck with editing y'all

There's so much going on in the file, can you provide some more info? What stage is that pictured? I imported it into FM23 and i don't actually see any qualifying rules in the first two stages, or any stage called Champions Playoff

My bad. First off, it's still FM22 and the qualifying rules are set under the individual group rules, that might have been why you didnt find them. It is in fact the first stage (stage 0) that is pictured.

Stage 3 (cham) should be the champions playoff. That's where the second picture is taken from.

To try to explain a little bit more of what should be happening: Teams are supposed to qualify from stage 0 to stages 3,4,5,6,7,8, and 10 based on performance.

(like this- taken from the group rules in stage 0 by testing the competition). however, the error I get is that stage 0 never finishes for some reason, even though all games are played.

Stage 1 is a league that incorporates results from stages 0 and 3 all the way to 10, so it shouldn't matter much and seems to be working properly. 2 Is hidden, so picture the rules as going straight from 0 to 3.

There is a lot going on yeah, I do have a tendency to overcomplicate things, which I do apologise for. Any more info you need I'll be happy to provide.

Again, many thanks and best regards

  3. Hi. So basically what is happening to me is that teams are not qualifying from the group stage to a further group stage. I've set qualification rules and as far as I can see everything seems to be correct but unfortunately the group stage phase never ends and the phases after are never created.

This is the qualification rules, there are 4 groups of 24 and teams should be split into groups according to their performance there

This is what I'm using to 'pull' teams into a new stage

Requirements are set too but it's just the most basic type, just has the stage number.

I've attached the file in case someone is willing to help and wants to check the file.

Thanks in advance guys and sorry for the trouble.

  4. Well I did manage to make most of it by myself, but now there is something going on with the dates that is not letting me finish the database. All stages seem to finish sucessfully but after verifying I get an error message that says the league hasn't finished in time for the season update day (which is set correctly I might add). Also, after testing the competition the league haas 90 matches instead of 45 but I can't find any of these ghost matches on the teams' test records. I'll attach what I've got so far, any help is appreciated. It's a fantasy database with no attempt at being realistic so please disregard that.

@Samuel77 Thanks for the tip! I was missing that small tick, didn't notice the option! I ended up using the MLS for guidance, but thanks for your suggestion!

  5. Hey! I was thinking of creating a massive league of 64 teams subdivided in 4 groups of 16 teams each. Teams would only play teams in their group. However, I'd like to have an overall table of the 64 teams. Is this possible? I have some editor experience but I could use a few pointers in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

PS: If someone has any files with such a system that I can reverse-engineer that'd also work, thanks!

  6. "I don't believe you could do that penalties thing, short of having every drawn league game go to penalties "just for fun" (with no point difference in winning or losing the shootout, except in the rivalry cups)" Thanks for the info, it was more of a wacky idea I had, wanted to see if it was possible at all.

"As for inter-conference games, throwing off the MLS code is notoriously finicky, but if there's a separate group settings for each conference, that's where you'd change which fixtures count (as well as telling it the conference only lasts 15-20 games now) " Yep there are. I'll look in there, thanks for your help!

  7. Hi, so I'm soing sort of a transplant of Portuguese teams to the MLS, trying to keep rules, drafts and all that jazz, and I wanted to know if there is any way I could have the results only between teams on the same conference count for the specific conference. Most of the file was built through reverse-engineering other people's stuff but i can't find anything like this anywhere.

As you can see in the picture I annexed, results between teams on other conferences are being counted towards that specific conference. Is there a way to have only results by teams in the same conference counted?

Also, I have been planning to add rivalry cups, MLS style, and i was wondering if it is possible to make a league game that also doubles as a rivalry cup game go to penalties, but it would still count as a draw for the supporters' shield (this is because teams only play each other once and thus cups would end in a tie too often). Probably a bit too much to ask, but would love to see that.

I've also included the editor file if anyone wants to take a look.

Thanks, and good luck with your edits.
