No no.. you're still all good. Frederiksen knew his pass would still end in a spot where Sadiq was forced to shoot from a fairly tight angle.
Now try posting a clip where your player lays it off to a teammate for an easy tap-in from 6 meters on an empty goal - as opposed to taking a very selfish and unaware shot from an impossible angle. Plot-twist: you can't(even though there's countless opportunities for it almost every game).

On average they are created 3 times a game in the premier league. Converted at 0.58 game
I am talking about a player being through alone and squared with the keeper, inside the box, without a defender being close enough to impose any physicality. You know, the sort of chances that are created and missed constantly on FM.

Some good Points, but: Don't trust commentary. Ever. If they'd ever be remotely Right, the average Football scoreline was indeed 5-5.
Even the exaggerating commentators don't slag off players for missing a 100% chance more than once per game. Because these sort of chances rarely get created more than ONCE per game - (and if they do, they are typically scored, yaknow).

It's not just the missing 1v1s. It's also the prevalence of player getting through squared or almost squared on goal. Alone with the keeper. It happens constantly.
The hardcore defenders on this forum keep alluding to some sort of mythical "pressure" that is coming from a trailing defender who's 2 metres behind the striker, as the reason for the constant missing 1v1s. The fact is, these sort of chances are rare in real life. A player, running toward the goalkeeper with no one in front of him. Commentators and anyone watching a game irl call these "100% chances" when they occur. Yes, obviously not the case. But the conversion for obviously big chances is ridiculously bad on FM. Either it's straight at the keeper, or the ball flies miles past goal almost hitting the corner flag. Not just one offs, I see ridiculously badly placed misses very, very often in FM. Like easy shots from 10-15 metre distance going comically wide.
Also, just waaaaay too many shots on target almost every game. It's not uncommon to see 15 shots on target between the teams, something which is quite rare irl.
Also, penalty conversions are a mess. Too many misses.Just refering to what the game calls a big chance through the "data analyisis bro" is not sufficient. If the data is not in line with what's blatantly obvious on the 3d match engine, then there's a serious need to look at what we see visually represented in the match engine. Because the fact is, I see what ANY football fan would characterize as a MASSIVE chance missed OVER and OVER again. Game after game. So many ridiculously huge chances created(on both sides) yet so few goals scored. Not only are big chances too prevalent, so are the missing of these big chances. A fair scoreline for many games in FM based on just what we're seeing in 3D is like 4-4 or 5-5.

True. There's opportunities for several tap ins per game, but players never pass. They'd still rather go for impossible angle shots.
I'm not sure I've seen a single flat cutback in the game yet, despite players constantly being yards open for the tap in

I'm done for now. I got to the PL with Blackburn in two seasons, finished 12th and then just that F it. The ME just has some very annoying and unrealistic patterns. Hoping for a fix, but definitely feel completely over the game already, after playing intensely for a weekend. There were a couple of enjoyable moments, but they were incredibly short-lived and instantly swapped for more hair-pulling frustration

With regards to fullbacks / wingbacks demonstrating this behaviour, what role/duty do you give them; what Team Mentality do you select; what Traits do the players you use in this position have; and (importantly) why do you choose those settings?
The reason I ask is my Wingbacks rarely (if ever) demonstrate this issue, but I tend to give my Wingbacks a Defend duty especially if I use an aggressive mentality and a player with the Trait to get forward whenever possible. My Wingbacks still attack, they overlap my wide players ahead, they just pick and choose when to do it and are much more effective in defence. I normally see around 15-20 crosses per match (in total from all my players) and shots at goal from my wingbacks are rare than hens teeth.
If you use a similar set up then that's probably something for the Bugs forum. But if your set up is more aggressive, why do you feel the need to be more aggressive? Perhaps that's what the tactical descriptions are leading you to believe you need? There's a combination of factors at play here and it's that combination which can be very important and not always obvious.
My wingbacks are on support duty and I usually play with either a balanced or cautious game-plan. No PPMs on them.
Does it really matter what setting they're on, though? Should any duty in the game lead to players thinking it's a good idea to take shots from stupid angles over easy sideway passes for the tap-in - over and over again? I must've missed where it said "will shoot from 80 degree angles 99/100 times" when I pick a mentality/duty..

Tons of penalties. Most seem to be missed.
Full backs and inside forwards drive forward and smash the ball into the side netting about 15 times per game, half of those times a striker is there completely free for the tap-in but they NEVER pass it.
The players prefer taking shots from completely ridiculous angles over attempting crosses/cutbacks to completely open players.1v1s happen countless times per game, and seem to be missed 9/10 times. Maybe the strikers only miss 8/10 times when their morale is superb - still ridiculous misses all around. Often blasted 10 ft wide despite being completely alone with the keeper with no defender for miles.
Shots way, way too many in 90% of games. Completely unrealistic to see 20 shots on target between the teams in almost every game.
Tone down the amount of chances created perhaps? Make 1 on 1s less frequent, yet more successful. If 1v1s with the keeper were converted at a realistic rate in game, every game would finish 6-6.It's a breath of fresh air whenever I get a game without 15 huge chances per game.

As far as I'm aware, the beta and the full release use the same ME so I'm not sure it's even relevant, but I haven't played the full release yet. I will be doing so in the next hour though.
The data bug has nothing to do with the ME. It's about the hidden attributes of youngsters and refs being completely screwed.

Not seeing the same penalty issues everyone else is having. I've probably had about 4 penalties (for and/or against) in 20 games in all competitions. I guess I'm an anomaly because these last few pages are suggesting the ME is a pen-fest.
Did you continue a beta save?
Maybe it has something to do with the same data bug, which seemingly also effected the referee hidden attributes on new saves after full release

The key bit is the explanation of while it is a bug and is being worked on, you can still train them to a level they do not have to be written off.
The response isn't satisfying to people who care for these details.
I understand that the casual gamer would never notice this, but as a seasoned FM-veteran I can't start a save until this issue is fixed.

How incredibly disappointing.

Dagenham_Dave has been at it for at least like 6-7 years. I have been away from the forums for like 3-4 years, but I distinctly remember his name and his tireless, constant defending of SI and the match engine. I have no clue what's in it for him, the persistence is insane. He certainly adds some counter-weight to criticism. To say the least.
