This is something I've noticed as well.

Playing in the Eredivisie, AI teams often only make like 1-3 subs from the possible 5 each match. This also happens when the team is down a goal, where they simply do not try to change anyhing and continue with the starting 11. They also don't really give time to promising or rotational players whenever they are comfortably ahead either.

    Examples:

Heerenveen is comfortably ahead, 5-0 at half time. Only makes 1 sub during the game.

FC Utrecht is down 1-0 since the 12 minute, only makes 1 sub during the whole game with underperforming forwards and some alternatives on the bench.

    3. That also happens IRL, though? :D From what I can gather, you've payed quite good money for unproven youngsters who haven't played much. Granted, playing without attribute masking (or having knowledge of the Portuguese league as whole) certainly helps and is something that I consider quite adequate.

Yes, but not to this extent and for these prices I believe. I have attribute masking on, so I rely on scouts quite a lot, but even then it's relatively easy to find these bargains.

As I'm an Ajax fan myself, I have never seen Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV or AZ buy prospects of age 19-21 from rival teams for less than a million. When this happens it seems to be mostly when they are 16 or younger and haven't signed a pro-contract yet.

When 19+ and showing promise you'd expect to at least pay several million. Especially considering that 5 of them are now in contention of making the national team which proves that these are not just run-of-the-mill talents that these clubs would let go for peanuts.

Regarding your question of previous seasons, I don't have that. I only created a single one for the start of the game and just this one with 2 backups who are only weeks behind.

  4. It also doesn't help that AI do not seem to see the urgency to make more risky forward passes when behind. It doesn't make sense to get trashed and then just chill at the back with passes between the defenders.

This bug also occurs a lot in cup games where the difference between teams is very big. I'm at work right now so can't provide .pkm, but i remember winning a cup game with 5-0 and only 25% possession, while the AI opponent was just chilling at the back.
