  1. I've noticed this bug appear in a couple of games since the most recent update. As this video shows, from wide free-kicks (and I believe a couple of corners), on the odd occasion I've seen the goalkeeper and center-half switch, kits included, leaving my keeper as an outfield player usually on halfway, and the defender become the goalkeeper in an attacking position. This lasts for the duration of the phase of play, usually leaving the goal exposed, before reverting back to normal. This only seems to happen with a particular tactic (downloaded from a community site, rather than one I've made myself), and has only occurred since I added my keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic as a free-kick taker (...), I don't know whether these will be factors, or if it is fully a match engine issue? The relevant PKMs for the two examples shown above should hopefully be attached to this post. I initially ignored the issue as a glitch in the algorithm making sure pre-season stats add together in one way or another, but now it's re-appeared in a competitive match and has been involved in phases of play involving goals, I would like to know if there is a solution to avoid this continuing? Cheers! Atherton Collieries v Torino - 0-7 - GK Glitch 1.pkm Torino v Roma - 2-1 - GK Glitch 2.pkm
  2. What's wrong with a third kit? They're always the nice ones!
  3. In an ideal world, I'd use the summer squads but with the more accurate attributes from the winter update. Unfortunately that isn't a possibility (yet), so I just use the winter update so players are slightly more true to life, despite the inaccuracies in the starting squads.
  4. I *really* do not think the game has been designed for the extremely minute majority of users who stream their saves. It's designed for the average football fan, not to cater for majorities like YouTubers or the hardcore fans on here.
  5. I've used the "End Team Talk" button prematurely (ie, before saying anything) and recieved negative reactions before, so I assume there's something. But also, I'm in the same boat as you in that'll I'll just spacebar away rather than formally ending the team talk. I think it triggers a small text box ("the atmosphere amongst the players is growing" or something) if anything.
  6. Ah, hidden under the physicals, forgive me! I'll make it a priority over my next season then let you know...
  7. In real life, they certainly wouldn't get anything for friendlies, youth matches, or at a lot of clubs even the Cup games. I'm not sure if it's the same on FM though?
  8. Here's a nice real life one from last week. The legendary Elliot Morris scores his first goal for Glentoran, after 723 appearances. And judging by the kick and his post-match interview, I genuinely believe he meant it, too. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/46851071 I definitely need to have a crack at this challenge. What are the attributes & traits to look out for in a goalkeeper to suit this, as they don't appear to have a free-kick stat? And how do people advise avoiding getting caught on the break with the goalkeeper forward?
  9. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as his attributes are good for the role you're playing him (and he's Marcus Rashford, so they will be), the colour of the circle doesn't matter. You can set his training to the specific role if necessary for peace of mind, but I tend to ignore the circle nowadays. It's a general indicator more than anything.
  10. I like how you've found a correlation between Accrington's training facilities and players falling ill I think this is probably just a freak incident, Accrington's facilities aren't *that* bad, I'd be really surprised if there's genuinely any causation there?
  11. I find there is an interesting bias towards forwards in the icons & legends section. I've had various goalkeepers hit 200+ appearances, averaging 7+ ratings, who never get anywhere near the list, whilst my one season 20 goal strikers will always jump straight to icons. You wouldn't see somebody like Lukaku or Sanchez becoming a Manchester United icon with De Gea or Van Der Sar ignored in real life, I don't think? I'll always only reach 'favoured personnel' at best too!
  12. I second this. I've found it 10x easier to offload players since I've started offering them as unspecified rather than for a fee!
  13. I noticed this issue with income at St Pauli. In real life they are one of the most well supported German clubs outside of Germany, yet in game their commercial income ranks at the bottom of the Bundesliga and towards the middle of the 2.Bundes. You'd expect that surely they'd be make a lot more commercial income than the likes of Magdeburg or Erzebirge, possibly even pushing towards the top 10 or so Bundesliga clubs in that respect, but that doesn't appear to be the case? And frustratingly, this then continued to be the case after consecutive top 6 finishes in the Bundesliga (plus a Europa League run) for me, I can't help but think I'm overlooking something?
  14. I'm having similar issues with motivation myself. I am struggling big time to start matches well or get green team talks pre-match, which is starting to show in the number of goals I've conceded early doors. However, a "demand more" shout after 10 minutes (or usually earlier, after the inevitable goal conceded on 3 minutes or so) will work wonders, and then shouts for the rest of the match and half-time will run perfectly. It's starting to feel like I need 10 minutes of play or a goal in the net to get anything from the players mind!
  15. I've regularly seen older players automatically start coaching badges on my saves, I think if they have the preference to go into coaching then they will start working towards it themselves?
  16. Earlier this evening. I was drawing 0-0 as FC Sankt Pauli against Jahn Regensburg, needing a win to draw level with Hamburg SV at the top of 2.Bundesliga. As a last, desperate, roll of the dice on 88 minutes, I chucked my center-half Avevor forwards to join the attack as a target man. With +4 minutes of added time given, he managed to go and score on 95:30 to win the game.
  17. I've noticed this issue too. I've had Atherton Colls set for the last few releases and no longer have the option on FM19. Just a small detail but I can't work out why this will have been taken away?
  18. This seems quite normal. Try being a Blackpool or Newcastle fan.
  19. Players wouldn't directly develop into the same playing style as their manager, but surely the manager is more likely to sign players of his own mould? Look at Guardiola for example (or Cruyff, & probably everybody else from that whole Barca & Ajax school of thought), he's built his "tiki taka" management style around what was his own playing style in the 90s. Or David Moyes building a team around a no-nonsense defensive style (at Everton atleast, Jagielka, Baines, Fellaini...).
  20. My own club (Atherton Collieries) were once of the receiving end of an 8-6, against Rochdale Town (in April 2014)... Yeah, it happens
  21. Just enjoyed a read through this thread. Absolutely love it, great work! On a smaller scale, I've designed & branded one or two fictional clubs and thrown them into the database to see what would happen. Recently I threw the small local town of Frodsham into the National League North with a overly high budget. They blew the majority on appointing Terry Butcher, sacked him rather quickly within the first season, and eventually settled in League One for a bit, then imploded financially and plummeted back down. Always a great time killer.
  22. There are examples out there. AFC Fylde moved to Kellamergh Park from Kirkham in 2006, before beginning plans for their current Mill Farm stadium in Wesham within a couple of years. This is a very rare situation mind you, but one you might expect to see with similarly ambitious clubs like Salford (for example) if they were to advance further.
  23. Please don't take my words out of context. "Quite a lot when penalties rebound", which in all reality is maybe two or three times over the course of a 40ish match season. If you find any video of penalty rebound that stays in play, you'll almost always see the striker float as if they're offside until a teammate (or defender) touches them back into play. It'll take maybe 30 seconds on YouTube or Twitter to find two or three examples of this if you like. Here's one for you. If you watch enough football highlights shows, it will come up every now and again. The best example that springs to mind is this, from a match at Bradford. Check out this great article on the matter from the Guardian. Some players who've been unaware of the law and had disallowed rebounds include Peter Reid & Teddy Sheringham. There's a good video here of an incident with recent Bristol Rovers signing Stefan Payne whilst playing for Sutton. So yeah, the situation does come up occasionally. Some players are aware of the rule and wait, some try to score. As Herne79 says, with enough of us playing the game it's an issue that'll affect some of us two or three times eventually, albeit still a rare one.
  24. It happens quite a lot in real life when penalties rebound, I've seen it myself plenty of times. The issue here is surely down to the animations not truly explaining the situation (which is just a nitpick), rather than how the engine handles it?
