A player can only have a strong on-pitch relationship with players who are considered in close proximity to their playing position - thus your keeper won't ever have a line connecting a striker because of this.

In the formation you showed having players in the FR/L position precludes easly relationships with central midfielders, this might be a tad harsh and its something I can look at for next years version if you think its confusing?

PS - These lines don't affect play, they simply show where there have been positive or negative correlations between the players you're fielding - ie. if two players play badly or well together as a unit.

So does this influence player performance during a game or not? Because I don't understand.

  2. Hello?:) No input? I think this board interference thing should be adjusted slightly, maybe loosen the reins a bit, so to speak.

Another time this happened was a lot worse than the above example: we had just lost our no. 1 left fullback, I managed to find a decent replacement in time but the board rejected the transfer because he was injured for two weeks. A couple of days later the transfer window closed and that was that, I was left without a proper LB on that side for half a season (it was during the winter transfer period). We should be allowed to sign these players, these are not long-term injuries, no six months, no nothing.

  3. About the potential thing, I posted in case it's not a known bug, even if it's something minor.

As for the contract expiry thing, I know it happens to players all the time in real life too, it's just that a player of this caliber never actually becomes a free agent like Bellingham here, he is basically unemployed right now. If you can tighten up this for next year's game it's great.

    Thanks!

  4. Can we please have the board not interfere when trying to transfer a player with a short-term injury, one that has no impact on his future development? Maybe the game could take into account other factors when judging this stuff, not just that he is currently injured? Like the fact that the player is 17 years old with maximum potential, valued at 3.4 millions and we had the possibility of buying him for only 1.3 millions but mainly the fact that his injury is basically meaningless! I had similar transfers rejected in the past as well, for even shorter injuries (two weeks). And sometimes that transfer is actually critical for the team and not just a future prospect like the current example.

  5. 1. A player like this can never become a free agent. To enter the last six months in such a player's contract and despite many top teams being continually interested in him no one ever offering him anything is quite ridiculous. If he remains a free agent a couple more weeks/months even I might be able to sign him, as a newly promoted team to the Bundesliga... He just needs to become desperate enough...

    2. We have here "potential to improve a lot", "global superstar", "could improve immensely" followed up by "unlikely to improve significantly ". He does look like a potential world class keeper BTW.

  6. Yes, this thing has been bugging me for years. Any semi-famous player retires, he is instantly a world class coach, with zero experience. Like your said, the game needs to replace the retiring coaches with someone equally good but a better progression system needs to be created for them because the current one is totally unrealistic. New coaches shouldn't necessarily start with "unknown" reputiation, but getting instant top reputation isn't ok either. For every real-life Arteta or Guardiola you have a dozen other retired players never making it as coaches. At least not at top level.

  7. Over on fmmvibe someone pointed out this article from three years ago and according to him this shows that the rankings in my group are actually correct.... Now I am confused... I am not sure that the situation in the article is identical to mine but if it is then I think the game had it right and it's not a mistake/bug.

Edit: after reading the article again on how the criteria are applied I think the rankings in the game were correct. If someone can confirm this then this whole thread can be ignored/deleted.

  8. See the images. Unless I am mistaken Sweden should have finished in last place, not 2nd and qualify, while Greece (myself) should have been 2nd.

First criteria is results between teams. The results were Sweden - Greece 1-1, Sweden - Scotland 1-1 and Greece - Scotland 0-0.

Second criteria is goal difference. Sweden has -3 while both Greece and Scotland have -1.

According to these rules both Greece and Scotland should have finished above Sweden. Or have I somehow completely misinterpreted things?!

Greece finishing above Scotland is correct as they have more goals scored. But Sweden should have finished in last place, thanks to the 0-3 drubbing they received from Croatia in the last match.

If the board decide to lower budgets then sometimes facilities will drop in standard - in this case because of relegation they/re investing less in infrastructure, you should have got a news message about this btw.

Ok, thanks! What about the "insecure" finances? This is the current situation. I wouldn't call this "insecure".

  10. So, we were relegated from the Bundesliga, around 2027, playing as VfB Oldenburg. When this happened both the training and youth facilities got somehow degraded. They were both "superb", four and a half stars. We lost half a star for the training facilities and a full star for the youth ones. How did that happen? And for some reason our finances appeared as "insecure" even though we were comfortably under the wage budget and had some money for transfers, slightly over 3 millions. During the summer transfer window I sold a bunch of players, now we are 200k under the wage budget and have almost 10 millions for transfers. Our finances are still insecure. What gives?

  11. Shouldn't this thing be a negative? I think it could lead to complacency, especially if the player is lazy or unprofessional. I guess I could see it as a slight positive as well, maybe it gives the player some peace of mind that he won't be replaced soon so feels less stressed or something, but I don't think this is actually implemented in the game this way. So how come it is considered a positive thing?

  12. Thanks for answering!

To be honest, I can't say that it makes much sense to me. Your first paragraph, where you describe technique as "their skill with the ball and how well they control it", isn't that like an obvious prerequisite for good dribbling skills? How can you even attempt dribbling without having those skills in the first place? I mean, you can, but you almost surely won't succeed... Because, as much fun as it must have been to watch that football player you mentioned, I'm not sure I would describe his attempts as "dribbling", lumping the ball forward and trying to outrun the opponent. That sounds like something a player with no technique and no dribbling skills would attempt.

I understand the need to have those two separate skills in the game as they mean different things, nothing to object here, it just doesn't seem logical to me that they should work as they do, with dribbling possibly being higher than technique. But thank you again for trying to clear it up!

  13. This is something that has been bugging me for quite a while and this player reminded me of it. How can you have technique 8 and dribbling 13? The way it works in my mind is that you shouldn't be able to dribble well unless you were a technical player in the first place. Good technique is a prerequisite for good dribbling skills. Good technique means stuff like being able to receive and control a difficult long pass or being able to run with the ball at your feet without tripping over yourself and losing it. Also being good at dribbling is like the next level in technical ability. We see many defenders with decent technical abilities but that doesn't mean they can dribble successfully.

I guess what I'm saying is that maybe a player should not have a dribbling skill higher than the technique, if dribbling is 13 then technique should also be at least 13.

  14. Is the update that we got a couple of days ago the last one for FMM21? IIRC, last year, with FMM2020, the update with the January transfers was also the last one to fix some bugs. Nothing after that. I am asking this because I usually don't have time for more than one long career and I prefer to start it after the last update, hoping that most bugs will be fixed by then.

    Thanks!

It is incredibly dangerous on a mobile device to presume that the amount of memory available at any time is the same as another - such devices will frequently have huge amounts of memory in use because people simply don't close applications upon them (when you swipe or whatever to put one in the background it doesn't 'really' close) and this makes the concept of how many leagues should be available volatile.

I doubt many users would understand that today their device can only support 4 leagues because they haven't rebooted their phone in 5 days and have 12 other applications open, but last week after a clean reboot it could run 8 - it is for this reason that I try and keep things consistent and easy for users to understand, this also ensures the game is as stable as possible (as having the game crash and people potentially lose save games isn't acceptable to me).

That being said - as I mentioned earlier we constantly monitor such things and its possible we might be able to up the limit at some stage in the future.

Can you give us an estimate of how much RAM would be required to be able to safely run 8 leagues? Full leagues, including all lower ones. From your response and my limited knowledge I am assuming that it is indeed a question of RAM and not storage space. That being said, memory management is no longer such an issue these days and the OS simply closes as many background apps as are necessary to run the current app that's in the foreground. That "reboot every five days" thing is a thing of the past...

And with no disrespect to those sticking to their Galaxy S3's and such, but we should not have to suffer (not sure if that's the right word) such limitations because of a small percentage of users that are still using antiquated hardware. At least give us the option and maybe limit access to this settings based on how the game assesses your phone's performance.

    Thank you!

  16. Are you telling me that some players are using Samsung Galaxy S II and S3s to play the game?! Wow...

Anyway, just because some users have ancient hardware doesn't mean those with more recent phones, and I mean like 3-4 years old, so not even the latest generation, should be limited in how they can play. I think that increasing the amount of loaded leagues would add tremendously to the game's appeal.

    Thanks for the response!
