This isn't just you, and this isn't just on FM23. This has been happening for years.

This happens because Hall of Fame data is saved to a DAT file on your public documents folder (if you're on Windows, you can find it at C:\Users\Public\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 20xx\hall_of_fame.dat) rather than the save file itself. Every time you load a different save file, any HoF data from that save is added to the hall_of_fame.dat file. For example, if you have a lot of success on one save file and then decide to start a new career, all your previous success will still appear in the HoF on your new save.

I presume the reason you've got so many strangers in your HoF is because you loaded up a save file which came from another user - probably a user who had also loaded save files from other users, which were then added to their own hall_of_fame.dat file.

The only workaround right now is to DELETE the hall_of_fame.dat file. This will stop previous manager honours appearing in any new saves, though I'm not sure if this works on already-started saves.

I've argued for a long time now that Hall of Fame data should be exclusive to one save file and should not appear on other saves. Hope SI can finally sort this out for FM24 or FM25.

If I delete the dat file will it add scores to managers in game so Jose Mourinho's HOF will change if he wins a cup with Roma in my save? I don't need to fix  current save just planning for FM24, cant do my main save on the channel if the HOF isnt working properly. I think because i no do online drafts etc I think thats where everyones data has come from.
