    I tend to follow this as closely as I can, and it's tended to work for me so far. I never have a senior squad of more than 25 players and like to keep my youth teams (u21, u18s, etc) to a minimum, never bloating them with multiple wonderkid signings every season (I find that ruins the game for me as I get overwhelmed).

    So, season 1 has ended. Finished 2nd in League One behind Peterborough who led from start to finish. Bit disappointed not to win the league but I had a little bit of a slow start, even dropping to 8th after the first 6 games.

    James Collins was an absolute revelation, to the extent that he tied Ray Straw's goalscoring record for most league goals in a season (37). 

    Anyway, I've been given £6m to spend in the Championship next season while also managing to acquire Manchester City as a parent club. Hopefully be able to get some nice youngsters to help in our probable relegation battle.

    I didn't keep Kouame as I don't like to have players on loan and I also wanted to only purchase regens in this save, so that's what I've done. Actually just sold on my first regen that I got on a free transfer:

    Only for £31m as that was his release clause that was non-negotiable in his contract :( sad times.

    Yes amig. I ended up selling Sergio Gomez to Manchester City for £55m as he wanted to leave and had two years left on his contract. This, coupled with 2 UCL SF appearances has meant the club is now debt free with over £100m in the bank; hooray! We also have 2 UCL group stage slots in the league now so hopefully other teams grow too. However, there have already been 2 clubs (Union Saint-Gillioise and Cercle Brugge) who have called in the administrators :(
