  1. It's so frustrating that practically every other match the AI is starting out with a 4-3-3 Narrow, and this is EFL Championship level (including 2030 Messi-led Norwich). If not that there's also a propensity for a literal 3-4-3 with 3 outright strikers and ML/R, as opposed to wingbacks. Please make it bloody stop.
  2. I don't know. The straight up 4-3-3 does seem to be picked far too often in FM19.
  3. I FM'd FM. The other day my team came back from 1-4 down in the 79th minute to win 5-4. This was even sweeter since it was the FA Cup and enabled our run, where (as a League 2 club) we subsequently beat League 1 Rochdale and 6th place Premier League Bristol City, only losing to Wolves 2-1 in the 5th round. LOADSA MONEY
  4. No, not sarcasm. In 540 hours of FM19 I've had absolutely no crashes and don't feel it ever will, whereas in previous iterations I would have had about 10 in the same time. Give those coders a raise and keep up the good work!
  5. Ouch. I was wondering if this is something that could happen. Chairman transfer interventions honestly are one of the worst things about FM though. In principle it's a feature that makes sense, but the AI is running on Pentium MMX technology and will accept absolutely shocking bids. Earlier today I had to savescum a little to engineer a £2.5M+ sale after a forced £500K acceptance. As a newly promoted League 2 club that goes from pocket money, to paying off our debts twice over. The whole thing needs a rework.
  6. I'm looking through the non-league clubs in my 2025 FM19 save and very, very few have even their U18s in a league. They have the squads, but only compete in friendlies and the FA Youth Cup. Is this intentional? If so it's pretty far removed from reality.
  7. Training > Mentoring The one-to-one tutoring of previous iterations was replaced by the new mentoring system.
  8. How was this not classed as a "Mistake leading to goal"? Meanwhile my other DC plays pretty well, but the one header he misses unfortunately leads to a goal and immediately pegs him down to 6.2.
  9. I would appreciate if anyone with the IGE could let me know if it allows simply cancelling/altering bids from clubs, or forcing a state where the board go with whatever you say so I can successfully protest; anything that solves this. The bid I'm dealing with now is so bad and illogical that I'm going to have to stop playing completely if I can't stop it.
  10. Why does positional familiarity affect the displayed role suitability so much? For example someone natural at MR (Winger) is fully green, but it goes half-full yellow or lower for accomplished AMR (Winger). A minor complaint but I think it should be going in the other direction, i.e. giving a more accurate representation for players who are not even competent for the given position.
  11. Why are Chairmen still so braindead? As if forcibly accepting terrible offers for financial reasons (even though you could get 50 times more £££ if you could negotiate yourself) wasn't bad enough, they will accept bids that are SUBSTANTIALLY WORSE THAN OFFERS ALREADY ACCEPTED...how can a game so driven by numbers be this way? There needs to be an option to assert that we can get a better deal when protesting transfers, and simply better AI.
  12. I've just noticed that Tactical/Technical are no longer highlighted attributes for GK coaching. Does anyone know if they're still relevant at all?
  13. At some point FM changed scouting assignments to not uncover unattached players, and made offering trials a necessity as directly scouting them won't uncover attributes if they're not playing matches. So now with FM19, all I seem to be able to do is look at a sea of names that come in ("free agent offers") and dish out trials left and right. Is there anything else I can do?
  14. Just for the most direct comparison, my played league, NLS, vs. NLN. However the numbers are quite consistent in all other English leagues as well, with mine being the sole outlier. This is something I've noticed from many years of playing FM. What's the deal with this?
  15. Wow...disabling first window now completely stops you doing anything, even offering trials, as opposed to eliminating the budget. This makes no sense from a realism standpoint as some leagues (like National League) doesn't even have a transfer window, and clubs can and do sign anyone up to January IRL. Seems like a pointless change.
  16. I always manage National League South, but my local club were promoted a while ago and other favourites have been either promoted or relegated. Think I might go for Billericay or Slough this time around.
  17. If you let us know your specs I can tell you if it would be worth upgrading and with what specifically. Even a 7 year old Intel platform is well worth upgrading.
  18. Using OP as a baseline, he says it runs okay on Low settings on his HD 4000 64MB. You have a HD 4400 with twice as much allocated RAM so it should be better than him graphically. Your CPU however is about 25% slower than his. You would really need to try it to see if it can handle the match engine at the graphics settings you're okay with and process the leagues you want playable at a speed that's acceptable to you.
  19. Depending on your laptop, you may be able to allocate more memory to the GPU to squeeze a little more performance if you want. This would be done by entering the BIOS on boot (usually by pressing F1, F2 or Delete) and having a look around the menus for graphics options. 64MB for a HD 4000 is quite low.
  20. Odd that it would just shut down as modern CPUs and GPUs tends to leave that as a last resort, and aggressively throttle instead. I can't think of what else it would be though. You could try running a program that monitors the temperatures of your components, and keep an eye on it while running FM. TJ Max varies but anything over 90c would be a cause for concern. http://openhardwaremonitor.org/
  21. It's been a long time since I haven't use face packs, but I'm pretty sure all players in Premier League teams don't have faces due to licensing. Watford are exempt from that because SI have a deal with them of course. Are you sure you or even someone else didn't install one?
  22. Yes, if there was one for FM19 you'd be eligible, but only if FM19 was purchased directly through Steam. I don't think the discount is steep enough to make it competitive with other sellers even on launch, though.
  23. I've only seen posts from people who started at clubs with literally no U23 team, saying it took them until they won a certain cup or got into the EPL to have the squad created. For clubs that start with them but no fixtures, I haven't seen anything. Haven't been able to find out myself cause I went back to FM17. And you can still get game time for them using friendlies, but then there's a great bug that ties into this whole thing where your staff don't auto arrange friendlies for U23/U18 as instructed. So you end up having to go through and do it yourself for the whole season. http://fulltime-league.thefa.com/Index.do?divisionseason=2602956&league=6029290 Look at those teams. Wimborne Town, Cirencester Town, New College Swindon? They certainly didn't have to get to league football and pump loadsamoney into youth facilities and the like just to get their youth players into a league.
  24. I think there's some miscommunication at SI considering they've said it's related to your youth level and facilities, but one look at the clubs with youth teams competing in leagues IRL (i.e even well below 6th tier) tells you that none of that faffing about should be necessary for U23s & U18s in FM. I'm hoping a dev has some further input on this? @Neil Brock
