Not really a tactics question as such but hoping someone can help me out. Last year I believe there was a website called Chalkboard Diaries which featured various tactical discussions and what-not. One of the articles was about Manchester United in 2009 I think when they had the trio of Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo and trying to implement this. For anyone who was involved, or anyone who knows how to access it, is there anyway to read that article again? As far as I can tell that website is not working any more. Cheers.

Yeah sorry I meant for the duty! I did question whether it was a bug or not, I'm not sure if it happens with any other duties but I know I've had issues with those two. Is this also an issue with the light skin (I use the official dark skin)?
I can log it as a bug tomorrow some time as I am off out very soon.

Does anyone have a description of a Defensive Winger - Defend and a Defensive Forward - Defend? These two don't offer any highlighted descriptions when I stick my cursor over them. Thanks.

Soooo...has anybody elses v2 9.3 tactic fallen apart at the end of there season?
I did notice this as well at the end of my last season. I'm not sure if the tactics themselves need a bit more tweaking or whether it's making sure the players are focused and don't get complacent... If this happens near the end of the season i'm in now (season 5), then i'm going to try rotating players more and change what team talks I give.

Yeah usually the DM if he fits the requirements (first page) although on some saves I have been using the MC as the playmaker to great effect as well.

The home version is still doing the business I must say! Third season with spurs, played 11 won 11 scored 27 conceded 1.
Edit: seemed to jynx myself... Next game drew 1-1 with Villa. Did deserve to win though. Damn those 30+ yard curlers.

Yeah just so they are harder to man mark by the opposition DC's, this IMO only works if you play with two similar strikers, i.e both quick, as if you played with a big target man and a pacy striker you'd want your target man playing deeper, holding the ball to feed your pacy striker with a well placed through ball, but if they were to swap positions you'd have your target man trying to beat the offside trap.
Thanks for that. Let's say for example I don't have two similar strikers... Does it matter which striker plays on the left or right side?

I have a question for you Pointon. Mainly just me being curious and just interested in how the tactic works more. Why do the 2 strikers switch positions? Is this so their defence struggles marking them? Is there a reason you wouldn't have them switching positions?

After a rocky start with this tactic it has become brilliant. P25 W20 D4 L1 Scored 48 (joint highest in league) and conceded 12 (2nd best behind Barca's 11)... Top of La Liga with Valencia with my only real competitor being Barca (as to be expected). Real Madrid are 17 points a drift.
Still getting 1 to many yellow cards though, but I think that may be due to my lack of defensive quality. So that's something for me to look at. David Villa has been my saving grace though, scoring 31 in 39 games so far. I usually partner him with Demba Ba for the most part, rotating with Mata and they have just about been pulling their weight.

Started off the season pretty well... So far in La Liga i've played P7 - W5 D2 L0... Sitting in 2nd place behind Atletico Madrid (who have yet to drop a point). Scored 14 and conceded 4, highest GD in the league so far.
Played my first game in europe and lost 3-2 to Portsmouth.
All in all, I am happy with the way the tactic is going, and it's still early days. I do find that there are to many yellow cards. Is there a way to stop the rash challenges my team are obviously making?

I am going to be using this tactic for my Valencia save. Coming up to my first game against Real Madrid in the Super Cup. Should be a good test for the tactic
