I've been doing a ton of reloads and holidays trying to get an instance of Winchester coming up, with this being their first ever season in tier 7 and them being just down the road from me.  Must be at least 30 times and nothing yet.  I know they'll be at the lower end of the reputation scale, but I'm also wondering if the fact their stadium only has a 2,500 capacity makes promotion impossible?

It shouldn't do, there's definitely grounds with a capacity lower than that in the national league north/south in real life this season

    Season Review

    Vanarama National League North

    Table | Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2

A superb season all around saw Buxton, initially predicted to be relegated back down to the Northern Premier League, pip Gateshead to the title in an enthralling race. The Bucks only led the table for the final third of the season but held off sustained pressure from the ever-present Gateshead and, in spells, Boston. A remarkable 16 game unbeaten run midway through the season really propelled us forward, but we had to remain firm during the final few games to secure the title, doing so in the penultimate game as the 10 men of Buxton edged out Kidderminster 1-0 to spark wild celebrations amongst the Silverlands faithful. We ultimately won the title by 4 points, with Gateshead beating Boston in the playoff final to join us in next season's Vanarama National League.

    FA Cup

My side definitely grew into the cup as we went. We narrowly avoided a shock defeat to bitter rivals Matlock Town before then again needing extra time - surely a bug in this year's FM with replays returning in real life? - to edge out Stratford Town. A superb performance against National League side Hartlepool propelled us into Round 1, where we were I think unfortunate to miss out on TV selection, and then even more unfortunate to go down 1-2 in a match that Colchester dominated, but where we had gilt-edged opportunities to level. Still, some great money for the club and a solid run.

    FA Trophy

Really not sure why the board expected Round 1 when we entered in Round 2? Home ties were the order of the day as we stormed past Boston, snatch and grabbed a win over National League King's Lynn, before falling short to fellow step 2 side St Alban's in a reverse of our own victory in the round prior. 3 goals from 4 shots on target saw us crash out, but again it's not a bad run and something to build on next season.

    Transfers

Tried to not overhaul the squad endlessly but ended up signing 8 players to varying success. Ethan Freemantle is the best of the bunch with 25 goal contributions to his name in the league this season. Very disappointed with Charlie Wellens as I snatched him upon his release by Manchester United, only for him to refuse to sign a new contract for next season as we don't match his ambition??

    Squad

Not a bad squad by all means, but with a few ageing or unwilling to renew contracts under acceptable terms, we will need to rebuild the squad again next season to replace and improve players (ideally so they can fit around my tactic). My best player this season has been Chris Dawson - his set piece and assist abilities are superb, and we will be needing those next season.

    Youth Intake

    Intake 1 | Intake 2 | Scott Morrissey 23A | Sunday Kayode 23B | Emre Yeşil 23C

I think the game rates these players higher than I do, but there's some potential for a few of them and at the very worst, I might be able to sell them for a small amount later. Need a better youth setup and that will come eventually.

    Finances

Board injections and cup runs have helped boost this a lot. Unfortunately a stadium upgrade and professional status aren't available now as the financial situation still isn't stable, but promotion should help that.

    Next Season

Rebuild the squad, establish ourselves as a National League team, try and get some good cup runs again and improve those finances.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    2022-23 | National League North | 1st | Round 1 | FA Trophy Round 4 | N/A | Promoted to National League

was thinking that myself just not sure to start or wait will probably just start it, what is the bug you have found in it

just things like incorrect player or board unhappiness that have caused issues, and there'll be more as well that's bound to be fixed in the main game release

hey guy's is it worth starting this on the beta or wait till full game is out encase any bugs appear during it

I'm personally waiting til the full game is out cause I've spotted a few things on my beta save that would really annoy me in a long-term save, but lots of people start during the beta phase every year with great success so it's up to you really

Happy with my start to the season, sitting comfortable upper mid-table.    I'm playing possession heavy football which isn't always recommended down here but it seemed to be working.

great start! for what it's worth, as a Buxton fan, we play on a 3G pitch and do actually try to play a passing game on the ground so that might be why it's working out so well for you - either that or you just have the golden touch 😉

Are you from Buxton? I don't live too far from there myself really. I live In Sheffield. Been to Buxton Opera House a few times then they have different comedians/performers there.

I am, yes :) been to the opera house a few times as you might expect, really brilliant architecture and they do get some great performers in. sheffield is very close, although I've only been once or twice for concerts myself

Sorry its taking me a little longer than expected to fix the issue, i have got them all working now except the southern league premier central which is creating the league winners twice in the 1st season.

Hoping to have it fixed soon.

don't worry - no immediate rush, better to have a fully working database that takes longer than a rushed, dodgy one :)

  7. two things I noticed:

    - FA Cup semis and final should be played at Wembley

    - at tier 7 (regional premier), it's the bottom 2 that are automatically relegated in each division, not the bottom 3. Out of the 4 teams in third-bottom, the 2 teams with the worst PPG are relegated (playoffs can still work for that if you can't use PPG)

This is all I've found out about it:

In September 2001 there was a tournament called "Jeux Inter-Îles where Wallis island and Futuna island competed in seperated selections against each other and  a team by the name of Forces Armées de Nouvelle-Calédonie. This was a team comprised of New Caledonian soldiers stationed on Wallis and Futuna. In the end the army club went out on top as they beat Wallis as well as Futuna.

Wow that's pretty cool, thanks for the info! Unlucky not to win the league but certainly a good sign after not even a full season
