Glad to hear it jckc. May I ask what you did to resolve the issue?

I fixed the driver issue that football manager was telling me i had the wrong driver by going in to safe mode in the os and completely uninstalled football manager and then all the nvidia drivers then installed the gpu driver's then a clean installer of football manager  2020 and now it is reading the right driver but unfortunately it is still crashing with that serious issue thing and telling me have i updated my driver's at this point i am lost because i thought where it was now reading the correct drivers everything was going to be ok but it turns out that it isn't

  3. This as been happening now for a couple of months and i'v raised it before but its happening every match now .Wile in a match wile i'm watching YouTube on my 2nd monitor say half way through the first half of the match i get this error come up.driver.png.938a95e6515dd007900d1bf4cd317ae6.pngI have already got the latest driver update i make sure my drivers are all up to date i don't think football manager is recognising drivers probably because it is telling me i have a much older driver its say's i have version 432.00 that is one of the very first drivers for my rtx 2060. I have new driver version 442.19. i have raised this many times and now it is really starting to get to me that not 1 of you so called very help full people can help me

Hey, as I said, as long as you trust who's doing the overclock and they give you guarantees, go for it.... I only said I wouldn't bother after seeing how higher frequencies and overclocking scales for FM as an application.  And yes, a bad overclock is using too high a voltage, which can fry a cpu, but overlocking even while stable for the cpu doesn't necessarily mean stable over long periods of time for the whole system... that was my only point, and that there are plenty of people who don't know enough about the overclocking process who use this thread as a guide, and I would want them to have both sides of the process to keep in mind, not only the positive.

Yes i make you totally right and please just because i have mention about overclocking my cpu i really don't want people to just think they can just go and overclock their cpu please only do so if you know what you are doing can it can be very disastrous if done wrong

Lads - a processor like that should last ten years. Overclocking it would bring the lifespan down to maybe 7-8 years.

And severely overclocking perhaps 5 years.

But it would be out of date in 5 years anyway - so overclocking it won't severely degrade the lifespan - you'll still probably get close to between 6-8 years.

Didn't really see these points earlier - but thought I'd pitch in as to get away from the idea that overclocking it would cause severe damage to the computer - it won't.

and it ain't the overclocking that shortens the life spam its how much voltage you use for that overclock

Just be warned, that high an overclock will certainly shorten the lifespan of the cpu, especially when playing an intensive cpu game like FM ..

Personally, i'd prefer it at stock if you are looking for longevity in the system... the extra ghz won't translate as well as you think for FM in particular..

I have never had any problem with the life spam of cpu if they are in rang with the voltage under 1.40 volts max but all ways try to stay at about 1.35 volts for 5ghz not once have i ever had any problems doing so but not for 1 minute an i saying it doesn't shorten the life spam i'm just saying that the people i know and from my experience ect that i have never had a problem if it is overclocked within the guidelines but i do know people that has fried their cpu with stupid voltage settings

From stock settings to my overclock now it is a lot quicker you only have to look at the benchmark test forum to see that so it is a benefit to me other wise people would not be overclocking at all if their wasn't but that doesn't mean every should do it i'm just saying from my experience

That'll run it absolutely fine. I'd double check the alleged speed of the processor though, as the normal top speed for the i5-8600k is 4.3Ghz, which means either the store you're looking at is telling fibs, or is highly overclocked, which could reduce reliability and the lifetime of the processor.

It has been professionally overclocked and stress tested as i know football manager loves single core performance so i wanted it clocked fairly high as i intend to use this system for the next 3-4 years till ddr5 comes out
