  1. Hah, now I put back the old nations kits (those "fat" ones in the default style), put them over the fc'12 to confirm a theory of mine and there it is: still these 15 kits are not showing up. Amazing. So the default style kits were working before -> I tried to replace them with the fc'12 style -> 15 kits didn't loaded -> put back the fat ones that were working fine from the first place -> now the respective 15 kits aren't working. Wow. How can anyone explain this?

  2. I just did this, still the same kits are not showing. It's so random it's ridiculous. Something is bugging these nations and I don't know what. I've finished updating english and italian clubs as well, all are showing just fine. 240 english clubs and 113 italian clubs. All working.

Is it possible you have any other config files in your kits folder that include duplicates of the teams that are not showing?  That can stop kits appearing.

Thanks but that's not what it is.

The kits that are not showing are:

    Andorra (away and home)

    Belgium (away and home)

    England (away and home)

    Germany (away)

    Ireland (away)

    Israel (away and home)

    Spain (away and home)

    Wales (home)

    New Zealand (away and home)

  4. Can somebody explain to me if there is a reason why some kits doesn't show up ingame while inside the same pack, other kits show up exactly as they should. No, this is driving me insane. This makes absolutely zero sense to me. Let me give you an example. France away and home: perfect. England away and home: NONE. Germany home: perfect. Germany away: nope, don't load. Wales home: nope, nothing. Wales away: perfect. All southern american teams: perfect. New Zealand away and home: nothing.

Also, until now every club I updated their kits worked perfectly (only done spanish and brazilian clubs until now but there are a lot of kits and all of them showed up just as they should). This is giving me a headache, I just can't understand why some nations are bugging. And even some of them bugging with ONE kit and having the other just fine. I already checked the xml file to see if there's something written wrong (I've just overwriten them myself btw and I'm very meticulous but I've checked again anyway and there's nothing wrong) and reloaded the skin several times. The skins are FC'12 style btw. Ah, and one final note which I believe to be important. I've just coppied the folder with these nations kits to another version of FM that I have and they worked properly. England, Spain, NZ, all of them. What's the explanation behind this? I'll now copy the club's folders to see if they work too but I really wish they could work on the other version. For example those nations that has one kit showing and the other not, how can the game recognize one but not both if they both belong to the same pack of FC'12? Same season I mean. It's not something of "this game is very old compared to the kit, it won't load" because it loaded one of them. The ID is the same. I'm struggling to understand.

  5. Ah, I see. I thought that maybe through the editor inside the Olympics competition maybe could exist an option on where to pick the images from, so you could direct it to pick the national flag instead. But apparently I'm wrong then. The only, theorical, way is if the U23 had another ID different than the nation's official team, but that's not the case.

For example, in my config.xml it's like this, (for confederations logo, displayed during any international match to showcase the country):

    <record from="776" to="graphics/pictures/nation/776/logo"/>

(for national flags, displayed mostly next to a person's name to indicate their nationality):

    <record from="europe/ita" to="graphics/pictures/nation/776/logo"/>

So Italy has one ID but the game knows when to pick the confederation logo and when to pick the national flag. That's why I assumed it was something that could be done with the ingame editor. I'm kinda noob with advanced modifications through the editor, only done basic stuff till now.

  6. Hello everyone. I was wondering if there is a way to display the nation flag for matches involving the U23 squad during the Olympics football tournament instead of their respective Football Confederations logos. I wanted to maintain the confederations logos for everything else (like Euros, Copa América, World Cup, etc.) but only during the Olympics I wanted to swap for the national flags if it were possible. I'm attaching an image in case I wasn't clear enough lol (and for better representation of what I was trying to say). Thanks.

  7. Hello everyone. I'm terrible in making short posts so I'll try my best here.

In Romania, there's a club called Poli Timișoara. In 2010 (start date of FM 2011) this club was named FC Timișoara (2002-2010, actually dissolved in 2012 but that doesn't matter, as far as the game is concerned we are still in 2010) for legal reasons and lost the rights to hold the old records of the original club founded in 1921. They lost it in 2002 (when they were refounded and renamed to a few differents names under this period of 2002-2010 until finally became FC Timișoara, the team that's in the game in July 2010). To make things less complicated I'll refer to them with their IDs ingame. So, the historic club founded in 1921 and dissolved in 2002, Poli Timișoara (ID 7542450) and the new club founded in 2002 and renamed several times until become FC Timișoara (ID 57034155). So as I was saying, everything from 1921-2002 was kept to Poli Timișoara (ID 7542450) all the 4 Cupa României runner-up seasons between 1974-1992 and the 2 Cupa României titles in 1957-58 and 1979-80. So what am I trying to do with the editor? I'm trying to make FC Timișoara (ID 57034155) which is the team that starts the game in Romanian 1st division, the other is extinct, I'm trying to make this newly-founded club more traditional. Changing the foundation year to 1921 and merging the history record from Poli Timișoara (ID xxxx450) with the FC Timișoara (ID xxxxx155). This actually happened IRL in November 2010 when FC Timișoara regained the rights to the historic records of the old club. Now to the main point of this post. In 2002 Poli Timișoara recorded a terrible season in 2nd division, with only 1 win and 4 draws in 30 games, finishing dead last with -8 points due to being deducted early in the season. If I look at the 'club history' section of Poli Timișoara (ID xxxx450) I can see this season there, exactly with -8 in 30 games. As I tried to add this season in the 'club history' section of FC Timișoara (ID xxxxx155) the editor automatically changes the -8 to 0. I'm unable to set a negative amount of points in an old season despite being possible to do so. (well, at least SI did it with Poli Timișoara)

So how can I do this? Please tell me that is possible, one thing is to set a team with negative points for the first season of the game, which would impact the gameplay itself, the other, which is what I am trying to do, is to add an old season to the history page of the club with negative points that indeed happened in real life and SI actually, accurately, put it in the history of Poli Timișoara, so it should be possible in my eyes.

(Well, I tried my best to make it short, sorry.)

  8. I never been the type of person to look on the editor to see the hidden attributes of the players but after playing this game for so long, there's not much to be spoiled anymore. So today I woke up and went directly into the editor to see what an "ideal team" would look like in accordance to some of my personnal taste (under 24yrs, high PA, low inj. proneness, etc.) nothing too eccentric.

So after looking at some players I know from experience, and a lot of game time, that tends to get injured constantly, and some who don't, I came to the conclusion that anything from 1-7 is good (for my taste, I know that I may be being a little picky here), and anything from 8-20 is not good. But there are some cases of players I swear they were gonna be classified as injury prone under my taste but when I checked the editor I saw '7'. Actually I know I just said that "I came to the conclusion" but to be entirely honest I still don't know, hence why I'm creating this topic. As I also said before, I'm not the most expert on the editor area of the game so I don't know what people consider to be a good injury prone attribute. Some players possesses good injury history (few injuries) and has '7' as hidden attribute while others has an awful history and also has '7'. Kinda random. At least I found some consistency in '6' and '8', I think every player with those stats that I looked upon, matches with their injury history and my earlier opinion on them based on my own experience. To put some examples of what I thought is random:

Eden Hazard and Neymar (every save I realize they tend to get injured quite a lot. Hazard in my current save has 11 injuries and Neymar 7. I'm in January in the middle of my 4th season, meaning 3 and a half seasons simulated. They both has '7' as injury proneness).

Nicolas Nkoulou (2 injuries in my current save. Inj. proneness: 7)

Cédric Mongongu (0 injuries in my current save. Inj. proneness: 7)

Younès Belhanda (12 injuries in my current save. Inj. proneness: 7)

I'm wondering how much of luck is involved in this. In the same range of injury proneness you can find players with 0 and 12 injuries in a space of 3 and a half years (and I didn't even went too far looking, there's probably even bigger gaps than this, I only searched a handful of good players, all these examples has 160 or more of PA).

I know I didn't spent hours looking but this really caught my eye. I didn't find this randomness with the people in the '6' and '8' zones. Is '7' the new '0'? Am I overlooking too much? Is luck really heavily involved? What are you guys thoughts on it?

Ps: I'm hoping I'm creating this in the right place. I think this is more of a general discussion than something in the Editor's hideway but idk.

  9. I really appreciate you took your time to look at it.

Well, Bury has "none" marked as president on the editor, it is randomly generated for each save. So when I choose the non-player I created (without any contract with any club) to start employed as president of the club, in his page on the editor says "date signed 1.7.2010" "start date 1.7.2010" end of contract (blank space)" "type of contract Full Contract" "weekly wage 0 (£)". Naturally I have tried to erase the weekly wage, make it a blank space, but it can't be done. I've also tried with date signed and start date blanked (both and one of each sepparately) but still they appeared ingame with a weekly wage of 575 euros and an expiring date set.

The board directors that comes with Bury starts alright as my first pic in this post indicates. But when I try to remove them and implement my own directors, the same issue happens.

I looked at Abramovic and other presidents to see what they look like on the editor and tried to emulate the same filled spaces in the "contract" section. They all oddly have 1 (£) as bonus for goal as a contract clausule which I naturally tried to emulate but in vain.

So to give a more direct answer to your question, I don't initially give them a contract, but in order for them to start the save at Bury I have to set it in the editor and when I set it there's two options (that i could see as potentially the reason of why I'm having this trouble) that can't be blanked: Type of contract (that HAS to be Full, Parcial, Amateur or Junior) and weekly wage that HAS to be either 0 (£) or any higher amount you want to set. And all of the other club presidents in the game has Full Contract and 0 (£) marked in these options on the database.

So I really don't know what to do to properly assign a created person to be member of the board without weekly wages and expire date set, I'm gonna try now set a preferred formation on him (because it is the only thing that all the other presidents have and I didn't try yet) and start a new game to see if it solves. (seriously if this is it...)

  10. Hi all. I'm just scrapping the surface on the editor, this is my first time actually making something other than change club names.

I have a few questions. First, I create a non-player person to be the new chairman of an already existed team in EFL League Two that I am editing. But when I create a save he is showing with wages and a contract to end in 2015 (this is FM11 btw). The other personnel of the board which I didn't touch of course remains without any kind of bond to the club. I looked into other presidents such as Abramovic and Hill-Wood in the editor and they have the same appearance as my created one, except for some tactical atributes filled. Secondly, speaking of chairman, do you ever touch on "board confidence" and "fan confidence"? And on his reputation worldwise or nationwise? Preferred tactic, negotiation, interference, pacience and possession? All of this regarding the editing of a chairman I'm in doubt and would very much appreciate some clarification. At the moment all of these items are marked to '0'. It's not a problem, right? For what the little I understand so far about editing, the smallest number is '1', and '0' is indicated for 'random', probably generated at the beggining of each save.

Alright, this already has become too much for one post, I'll save my other questions for later. Thanks.

  11. Hello everyone, I'm wondering if SI has already added the player's media handling style option for us to add as a column in our created custom view. I should mention that I've not played the last 5 editions of FM (since FM15), so I really hope that, by now, it is already added to the game. It feels weird to me that 'personality' is available and 'media handling style' is not when both of them are so connected and have similar results in helping us reflecting a player's behavior both inside and outside of the pitch.
