  1. I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not, so feel free to move it if necessary. I was wondering if FM18 (or FM17) has support for 4k screens so everything looks normal. Or, if that's not the case, is such support planned in the future? Thanks in advance for all answers!
  2. I'm wondering if there are any new features in the FM18 pre-game editor. If so, what are they? Also, can I edit squad numbers with the FM18 in-game editor yet? Thanks!
  3. Interesting. The tournaments I'm talking about don't feed into anything anymore (IRL, the Caribbean national team tournament feeds into the Gold Cup, but I've created a separate qualification phase for that in my edits). I'll have to dig around before I actually remove something, though. Thanks for your help!
  4. No, that wasn't possible in FM16. You had to overwrite/edit existing nations.
  5. I've tried a couple of different things, including simply adding a new (created) stadium instead of replacing the old (created) stadium. No matter what I do with these created stadiums, it always returns 46 failed changes. I'm getting very frustrated.
  6. I just exported it as an XML file and I made two changes (stadium name and city): it still returned 46 failed changes. I can find a way to upload the XML file, but it's 250mb. Just so you know.
  7. I'll give that a whirl, but I'm wary of removing stuff.
  8. I'm not trying to transfer anything; I'm editing in FM16 and playing in FM16. The editor file is a native FM16 file, as well. The problem seems to be with created stadiums. But, again, I can't figure out what the real problem is because I the Editor isn't returning any results when I search for failed changes.
  9. Has anyone used this method to add players or clubs? If so, would that person mind sharing how they did it? Thanks!
  10. I don't think you can do that in the basic editor, but maybe try looking in the advanced editor for a setting like that? I also think part of the issue might be the disparity in the reputations: that is, the cup is rated so much higher than the top division. Have you tried evening the reputations out?
  11. No, it's in FM16. I don't really know why this happening. I did a test and I renamed one of the created stadiums and that created 46 failed changes. Since this was only a cosmetic change, I don't understand what the problem is (and I've never seen this happen before). For reference, I've created more than 1500 stadiums for this file and there are 160 created stadiums in the nation that's causing the problems. I've also just gotten rid of all of the affected nation's stadiums and that didn't fix the problems. This means one of two things: either the Editor is returning bad results (i.e., it's lying about failed changes) or the problems are in one of the other nations I've edited (though, again, the Editor doesn't indicate any failed changes at all when I search for that). This is all very vexing. Thanks for your response!
  12. I've made a ton of changes to the database and now I have anywhere between 23 and 58 changes appearing as failed, but I can't locate them with a search. That is, if I search with the "Number of failed changes = at least 1", nothing comes back. Does anyone know what the deal is with that? I've isolated it to something weird happening when I try to rename stadiums I've created. I suppose I could delete all of those created stadiums and start over, but I'd really prefer not to (there are 160 of them). Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  13. I'm still using FM14 and FM16, so there's that. I also prefer FM14 to FM16, despite the limitations.
  14. Also, my annual request to either let us get rid of automatic second nationalities, like those on Caribbean islands that are still part of the overseas territories controlled by European nations, or give us a way to set what the automatic second nationalities are (none/England/France/whoever). Also, I would really like a way to create new nations from scratch.
  15. This is one of the major flaws of the release-a-new-version-every-year model. It could be partially solved by going to a two-year upgrade cycle (i.e., FM 2018, FM 2020, FM 2022, etc.) instead of a one-year upgrade cycle. But that will never happen, obvs., lol.
  16. Two things: (1) Please stop making stuff hard-coded. Or at least make a note somewhere in the editor (or game documentation, if that's still a thing for modern games) of which competitions, etc. are hard-coded. It will save a lot of frustration. (2) Make an easy way for me to change jersey numbers (i.e., squad numbers) in the in-game editor. If FMRTE can do it, so can the official in-game editor.
  17. Thanks for the response, Kubi! If they're hard-coded, that will be irritating. But I'll poke around and see what I can find. Can the valid years be changed in the basic editor?
  18. I've re-done the CONCACAF club and international tournaments and I have a problem. The first is that the CFU Caribbean Cup and the Copa Centroamericana are running, despite the fact that I have made them extinct in the files. They no longer feed into any competition (i.e., the Caribbean Cup is used to choose the Caribbean participants of the Gold Cup in real life, but not in my edits) so I don't know why they're still running. The same thing happens with the Canadian Championship, which in real life chooses the Canadian team to participate in the CONCACAF Champions League. That is not the case in my edits (there is a full league system for Canada and my version of the Champions League doesn't take the Canadian Championship into account). So I made that competition extinct, as well. Yet it still runs every summer for no good reason (i.e., the winner doesn't get anything out of winning). Is there a reason for this? Do I have to do more than just extinct them? I am considering making the competitions active again, and re-purposing them for something else (i.e., a domestic cup or something). Would that work? Other than this (and one other weird thing - I have multiple instances of competition histories showing up, like the Gold Cup winner appearing 4 times for the same year), everything works fine. Thanks in advance for any help!
  19. Can I change squad numbers on other clubs with this year's version of the IGE? This is literally the only feature I care about because I hate it when players have stupid numbers.
  20. I figure that most of the tax rules are fairly self-explanatory, but I'm having doubts about one aspect: when it's asking for the higher and lower amounts for the tax range, is it referring to weekly salary or annual salary? I feel like it's weekly (I've got the editor set to weekly right now), but I had a bit of a crisis in looking at it again. Can anyone confirm if it's weekly or not? Or if it matches your settings in the editor preferences? Thanks in advance!
  21. Awesome! Thank you! I was looking in the wrong file, heh.
  22. Thanks. I'll have a look around in there, but do you have any idea where to start?
  23. I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to rename any of the currencies in FM. That is, I'd like to create a custom currency for my created nation by renaming a currency that's not used. Since I can't seem to do it in the editor, would it be possible to do it using an LNC file or something like that? I'm pretty sure it's a purely cosmetic change. Thanks in advance for any help/advice/suggestions!
  24. I was wondering if anyone has made a fix for the FM16 editor that will allow normal shift-tab (i.e., go back to the previous field) function. It doesn't appear to be working in mine, which is far more annoying that it should be. Thanks in advance!
  25. I can't even think about how to describe this in a few words, so here it goes: in the little news blurbs in FM, it always uses the club's long name. Is there such a thing as a file that either uses the short name for those blurbs and/or has increased the variety of blurbs? It might be an LNC file, and I think I saw one a few years ago but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Any ideas?
