  1. I don't know what your scouts for the Portuguese leagues is doing, but having every single player from Benfica with insanely high PAs while giving a really low score to Giovany Quenda is baffling. There is plenty of footage (and hype) around the kid for this to be an accurate PA on him. To back my insatisfation, João Neves is almost prime Pirlo at age 18. There's 3 or 4 world beaters on the B team for Benfica. EDIT: To add, that Benfica is not even the team dominating the youth leagues in Portugal, neither the U23 league or a dominant B-team. I mean, they're represented in game as the best of the best by a clear distance when it comes to Portugal, but that's not true at all. Either review the values and ratings given to Benfica's youth, or balance the values and ratings using IRL data and not a biased view from a biased "scout".
  2. What I'm talking about is without making any tactical changes to the setup, it just randomly drops. I'm also including some hidden values that require an in game editor to keep track of
  3. As I mentioned in the post, if you use a WCB wich will open to the wing, the HB will drop down to make a pair with the central defender. That's a reason to use a HB on a 3 man defense. And the role is supposed to work in all settings, if they overlap, that's for the player manager to figure out. Sporting Clube Portugal played a 3 ATB with Ugarte on a HB role. It's not about replicating what City does, despite some tactics doing it in a way in game, it's about the role suddenly not working as intended in a specific setting. If the role details that he drops down into defense, that's what it is supposed to do, specially as I mentioned above, if I set my WCB to open into the wings to afford space for the HB to drop down into.
  4. Ah, match preparation. The one thing that makes the start of the season tough, where players have to adapt to the tactical settings of the new manager or the team, but when training and having match pratice they end up working out and become a fluid team. That's what I should be like. But no. Instead, the current iteration of Football Manager is not working like that. Let me exemplify: Team A is playing a specific tactic. Players are getting familiar with the roles and start to gel into each other and start playing amazing football. Suddenly, the team can't perform for their lives. (this is partially where the theory of "the AI adapts to your tactics" comes from, that is not the case). What really happens then? Well, after a almost complete year of testing in my own games, the issue is that, for some unknown reason, match preparation drops to half in some values with no reason for it. It's the same tactic setup with no changes, even if you account for rotation of players wich could lower some of the team coesion, not to this extent tho, it just drops randomly so they start playing poorly. This is creating a false sense of having a "tougher" part of the season wich is completely unrealistic if you come at it from this point. If my players are training on a specific tactical setup, if they're playing every week on that setup, how come do they lose Match Preparation values? Take in account that those values are tactic specific. Can we address this issue, is this working as intended or an unkown bug?
  5. In my latest saves, I've been playing around using a Halfback, wich according to the description and real life use of the role, is a defensive midfield who drops down into the central defenders and reinforce the defense. In a back 4 setup, the role is working as intended, the player in the roles does indeed drop down to defense. However, if you play with a 3 ATB setting the role is essentially useless. He won't drop back into the CD role it's supposed to. Now this is when you state the obvious "Of course, there's 3 central defenders and he has no place to go back into". Yeah, but that's not the case if you are playing WCB, or if you give instructions so the defender stays wide, opening up the space for the HB to drop down into. What currently happens is that he won't drop down and you end up with a 1 man on central defense. This is not how it works in real life football, and based on descriptions, it's not how it should work in FM either.
  6. For starters, disclaimer that I'm not sure if this is a gameplay issue or a database issue. Since it's about development in game, I assume it's the former. All testing conducted and being conducted in this threa in the forums, wich I am not responsable for starting, however I did help with the testing. Due to a lack of clear explanation on how the "Dynamic" part would work appart from the "If your nation does well enough in club and international stage, it will improve as it does in real life". My part of testing was done with this explanation in mind, with Andorra and FC Andorra being World and Euro champions internationally and ranked 6, after dropping from 1st to 4th and then to 6th, and at a club level, FC Andorra was a top 5 team in the world by the year 2036 and dominating the Spanish League. Comparing the results from a save with direct influence and to a save that had no outside influence, Spain's Youth Rating stayed the same, even with FC Andorra performing above for Spains coefficients. Portugal, with no influence, on one of the sims fell in Youth Rating, on the other flowrish well above the rest. But you can check the results properly posted on the thread linked above. The results make me conclude that either: a) It's not working as intended and therefore a bug, wich prompt reporting ; b) the dynamic part is not really influenced by the player doing stuff in game and should be random dynamic for clarity sake ; c) it's working correctly, but it's preset like some players potential on a -X where the value of X will define the save growth, wich, again, won't be dynamic and pre set by the game and we can't influence it as players; or d) Your idea of long saves for it to actually matter to lower nations with no leagues (Andorra, Liechtenstein i/e) is 60 to 70+ seasons, wich is unrealistic as hell, since I'm willing to bet that IRL F.C. Andorra sets up a decent Barcelonaesque setup, the Andorran team in 10 years would be fighting for playoffs positions, much like how fast Luxembourg rose in the ranks of international footbal in the last decade. This is not based on opinions, but there's facts such as the mentioned Luxembourg nation proving it so, as well as the Belgium NT, wich 15 years ago weren't all that much and now are sitting number 1 in the rankings. If you recon this to not be a bug, but working as intended, could a clarification on the system actually be put in place? At the moment it's starting to look like a media stunt to hype the game and not much of a working feature. Thanks for your time reading, other than this issue, I'm enjoying the game very much, this new match engine animations are golden, lovely stuff. Good vibes and keep up the good work
