You just finished in European places, there's not a lot of reason why they'd want to leave.

That being said finances are just way easier in game than they are in real life. You could easily offer £100k+ wages during the first season in the Premier League, real club just wouldn't do that.

There's a lot of reasons for top clubs to be interested, though. I'd expect to be batting off offers from Europe's top clubs for all 3 of these and hopefully keep 2 of them.  I also got no interest when we were promoted. IRL, if Rowe had seasons like this Norwich would be getting massive bids from all of England's top clubs.

Are you the same nationality as the club you’re managing? What is your reputation? Your background? Your attributes? My guess is all or some of these will have an impact on players “moaning”. Give it a few seasons, start to create your own team, not one you’ve inherited, get the players to “appreciate your position as manager” etc and my guess is this will settle down.

Same nationality, starting with the highest level of experience selectable.  I actually don't mind that there's increased pushback from the squad, but the 'squad depth' one seems to happen every single transfer window regardless of depth, I have too many players and I'm getting it.

  3. It feels too easy to hold onto my best players.  I got promoted with Norwich, then finished 5th in my first season in the PL (Maybe something to reflect on how easy it is to succeed with a Gegenpress tactic there as well...) and I have players putting in these kinds of performances and I'm not getting bids from top clubs at all - only the odd Saudi...

In real life, I'd have no hope of holding onto all of these guys

Really?. It shouldn't matter that he is a POS. All professional players should be in the game.

Seen a post on Reddit this morning saying he's in the game with the personality type "Jovial" maybe it was mischief?

I am yet to download the Beta.......proving to myself that I am in charge and not the game!

Looks like he's there in standard mode, but he's not if you choose 'your world' - i.e., with latest transfers he's at Getafe on loan but if you don't apply latest transfers he disappears entirely like FM23.

I've already told you how to get round this. The concept of the Your World feature is that the transfers are up to date as of the start date in your game. Then you recreate history.

    Less of the attitude, thanks.

This doesn't work - I've tried it. Players who's contracts are meant to expire on 1st July have contract extensions. Messi has an extra year with PSG, Skrianer ends up contracted to Inter until 2028 etc.

What countries can I send my players off too with a short turnaround on the work Permits

Nowhere, the UK leaves the EU in-game on 1st Jan so gaining citizenship elsewhere is of no help, except maybe Ireland I guess, which retains free-movement with the UK.

You'll have to loan them out until they fulfil other work-permit criteria, e.g. caps.

    That sounds awful. :(

Long-term motivation in manager games is very important for me.

I would add I got taken over by  tycoon, so I had very good money to spend in the window (about £90m after sales).  I put together a really good team that I thought would finish top half, maybe push for Europe with a bit of luck and good management, but yeah, nearly winning the league was ridiculous - I actually lost to Man City in game 37, handing them the title (I'd have won it if I won that game) and instead of being disappointed I was relieved.

This is an example of the type of team I was able to put out.  So yeah, I shouldn't have been scrapping for survival but also shouldn't have been spanking the top 6 routinely, either.

I think there are two issues at play here: 1) The tactic is basically an exploit, and it's just the standard gegenpress 4-3-2-1 with some very minor adjustments (made it attacking not balanced) and I never had to adjust it for opposition. In fact, it got me basically the same PPG in the Champ as the Prem, I expected I wouldn't be able to use it against half the teams in the Prem and would need a more balanced tactic.  Problem 2) is that it was too easy for me to acquire top talent, both on loan and permanent.  I know I had the money and the fees were (mostly) realistic, but a lot of those players shouldn't have been interested in coming to a newly promoted side.  I got Vinicius Jr on loan in the Championship FFS!

Last year when Messi/Ronaldo/Ciro Immobile scored 15-18 goals in League, was that normal? Set -Piece defending last year or 1v1 percentage, was that normal? Every year there is something. If we lived with that last 2 year, you can also see past this.

I finished 2nd with Norwich after promotion - I'm not bragging, it's ridiculous.  A 4-2-3-1 gegenpress with attacking mentality taking a newly promoted club to 2nd with an average Champ striker banging in a goal a game is stupid.

Not to mention, not a single bid or bit of interest in him or my other top performing players. The AI knows they are ****.

Thats not the norm though...on my save Adam Idah has scored 10 goals in 3 seasons and plays for Bristol Rovers!

Strikers are absolutely categorically not OP! If they were the AI teams would be banging in loads of goals they just aren't.

I'd agree they aren't overpowered with AI managers, but no matter what I do my strikers bang in a goal a game

  10. I agree with others that the game is too easy.  I used a 4-2-3-1 gegenpress tactic, with attacking mentality. Playing as Norwich I got promoted with 100 points (ok, not entirely unrealistic with good signings and management) and with Adam Idah, in real-life a talented prospect but not quite starting XI material, and in-game a player with no attribute about 15, scoring a goal every 80 minutes.

First season in the Prem and I don't adjust my tactics at all, apart from in 2 games early season against top clubs where I played with a holding midfielder and balanced mentality. Abandoned this as it wasn't getting results.  I ended up finishing 2nd in the Prem, 85 points (2 off City) and with Adam Idah again scoring a goal every 80 mins on his way to the Golden Boot in Europe.

I love a lot about the new game, but I'm back to my FM20 saves now because winning the league comfortably in my 3rd season as Norwich isn't the game I want.
