  1. Summary: Upon appeal of upgrading training and youth facilities, the summary's start date of the work is in 2029 and the completion date is in 2028.

Description of Issue: In my Paris FC save, I was just taken over. Now that the transfer and financial embargo is lifted, I requested to upgrade training and youth facilities. They initially reject and hence I appeal, which I can do successfully. On the summary screen, it states that the start date is 21/5/2029 whereas the completion date is 9/12/2028 and 19/12/2028 for training and youth facilities, respectively.

Steps to Reproduce: Request to upgrade Training and Youth Facilities. After it gets rejected, appeal. The Start Date happens after the Completion Date.

  2. Summary: A blank line shows when confronted over breaking a "loan player out" promise.

Description of Issue: Three loan offers come for Ivan Ristanovic, with a promise that he will be loaned out. I rejected the loan offer from Partizan over their proposed Squad Status even if it is his preferred destination, and I get confronted over it. When responding that the proposed loan offer's Squad Status is not good enough and then making a promise to continue to find him a loan, a blank message occurs and he remains hurt.

Steps to Reproduce: If starting from paris_reject_ristanovic_loan.fm, three loan offers come in for Ristanovic. Reject the loan offer from Partizan, triggering him to confront you. My rationale for rejecting is because Partizan is offering him "Fringe Player" status. Ristanovic still is not convinced, so you bring back the promise, and after that, I see the screenshot as shown below.

If starting from paris_ristanovic_is_mad.fm, then the loan was already rejected.

  3. Summary: Unable to trigger a player's continental competition release clause despite being in the Champions League and the other club not being in one

Description of Issue: As Paris FC, I noticed a player named Nahuel Martin playing for Rosario Central, with a £6.25M release clause for clubs in a continental competition. Given that I am currently competing in the UEFA Champions League and Rosario Central is not playing in the Copa Libertadores or the Copa Sudamericana, I thought I could purchase him for the release clause but it is not letting me.

In the past, I have reported bugs in past FMs and that was my explanation - that the buying team must be in a continental competition and the selling team must not be.

Thanks for this one @el canadiano.

I've actually logged this one myself fairly recently and it's in the hands of the developers, so when fixed the question won't be asked until the EL2 is the confirmed competition your team will be playing in.

Cheers for taking the time to log it either way!

Seems reasonable to me. Thank you for the response. :)

  5. Summary: After mathematically qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League, the press in a pre-match conference asks about how I feel about qualifying for UEL2 for the first time, when I played in the UEL this season.

Description of Issue: After mathematically securing a UEL2 place for Paris FC in the 2023-24 season, I am asked how I feel about qualifying for the UEL2 for the first time in our history. However, in the 2022-23 season, I already qualified for the Europa League. There is also five more matches to be played and I am still in the running for Champions League qualification.

I think this question, given this situation, is a weird one to be asked.

Steps to Reproduce: (as a guess)

    - Play as a team who has never qualified for the European Conference League/UEL2 but has previously played UEL/UCL competition.

    - Qualify early for it but still have matches to play

  6. Summary: After selling a player in December, 2023, I transfer-list and sell a player named Hereda. I then get asked about not being able to sign a replacement until the next window.

    Description of Issue:

This might not really be a bug, but it seems like odd behaviour to me. I transfer-list and sell one of my right backs. In a subsequent press conference, I get a question, "With Hereda gone, you have to wait until the next transfer window before replacing him. Is that fair?" This seems odd to me because the window is just about to open anyways. Even if it is considered an issue, it would be pretty minor. My personal intent is that I am happy to not have to replace him as I am getting a young starlet on a Bosman and I already have two defenders playing as a right back.

Potentially noteworthy that the transfer window opens on 6 January 2024.

Steps to Reproduce: Transfer-list a player in December and then take the next press conference.

  7. Hey @Kyle Brown,

I just finished the 2022/23 season. This time I am pretty reliably reproducing the same issue, where I get seven days to evaluate any promises I make. Given that I can just restart, I won't make any promises but wanted to provide a scenario where I can more easily reliably reproduce this issue.

I uploaded a save under "pars_end_of_season_2022_2023.fm" if you want another save file to work with. This time it is right after the last game of the 2022/2023 season.

    Hopefully this save helps.

  8. I put the save up this morning.

Based on what you're saying, even if it seems harsh, there shouldn't be a bug if this is the case, so technically what I probably should have done, as I said, was delayed the signing of Sambia by a week, which probably would have then meant that he comes in after Saul did, but que sera sera.

  9. This is not necessarily a bug report but I do have questions that ideally would be answered.

I am currently playing as Paris FC in the 2022-2023 season.

I am currently dealing with significant internet issues so I will not be able to upload a save file until tomorrow morning, EST (5 hours behind GMT/WET). During the save, I signed three players with various promises to strength the first-team squad in certain positions. First was a D(R) named Hereda from Nautico in Brazil. Then there was a DM named Uche Agbo from Deportivo La Coruna. Lastly, there was a D(L) named Saul from Alaves.

During these signings, I made a promise to Agbo to strengthen Goalkeepers, and a promise to Saul and Nautico to strengthen midfielders. The promise for Nautico was completed. The promise for Agbo was given more time, as he appreciates that I did make moves to strengthen the goalkeeping position but did not believe it was enough. The promise for Saul was broken and he is currently unhappy.

The question I have is primarily, should it be considered when a promise is made for strengthening a certain position, purchases during the same window but before the promise is made be considered? Alternatively, given a player's purchase with such a promise, should purchases of other players in that postition be considered if they were made after the contract was offered to the player but before it is finalized?

I ask because I believe I put a lot of effort to satisfy both promises. In this transfer window, both Guilherme and Eduard Dutu were GK purchases, but Dutu was a purchase made after signing Agbo, whereas Guilherme was a purchase before. For midfielders, I signed Nikola Cumic and Ryan Hedges as AM(R/L), along with Junior Sambia and Agbo. I believe this was a considerable effort to strengthen midfielders in this team, but Saul was a relatively late purchase. I believe actually if I delayed the Junior Sambia purchase by a week, I probably would have completed the Saul signing first, and then if Sambia was finalized after, that promise would have been fulfilled.

I am currently unable to upload a save as I am dealing with significant internet issues, but I will upload a save named "paris_saul_broken_promise.fm" first thing tomorrow morning in EST (five hours before WET/GMT), which is a save that happens right before the transfer deadline during August/September, 2022.

    @el canadiano

Thanks for all that info, it's much appreciated.

But yeah you're right to say those saves are unfortunately a little bit too late. If you could still upload the save from the youth recruitment stage it would hopefully still show the issue, I'll be happy to play through it and try and replicate the problems you've got.

Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime, let me know if you don't have the save and I'll see what else I can do!

No worries Kyle. The save was uploaded as "paris_diarrassabara_4_5_mc.fm". You should be at a step where you survive relegation from Ligue 1 regardless. It isn't really the end of the world other than Prior wanting to leave. I don't exactly have the most amount of money anyways so I would have accepted Prior's transfer anyways and I already transfer-listed Martin.

  11. Summary: At the end of the 2021-2022 season as Paris FC in Ligue 1, during the end of season meeting, I made promises that were evaluated immediately rather than during the 2022-2023 season.

Description of Issue: During the end-of-season meeting, I made a mention that I would likely have to sell some players for financial reasons. I then made promises to "Play Youth Players" and "Will not stand in the way of a big transfer" were made, but within a few days, those promises were immediately evaluated - "Will not stand in the way of a big transfer" is considered dropped but "Play Youth Players" is considered failed, so certain players trust me less despite massively overachieving during the course of the season and successfully getting promoted from Ligue 2 during 2020-2021.

Steps to Reproduce: Make promises of "Play Youth Players" and "Will not stand in the way of a big transfer"

Files Uploaded to the OwnCloud: Alexander Poon - Paris FC - Broken Youth Players.fm

I acknowledge however that the save (and the corresponding "last overwrite save backup.fm") are likely a bit too late to replicate the issue. I believe I have a save from roughly the Youth Recruitment stage of 2022 if you're willing to zoom through two months there.

I have four failed at my current club. It starts with "rumours not to be believed", owner status goes to "in process of takeover" and when it fails - goes to "happy to stay". But dude is cheap as hell, so maybe he waits for some good offer. He dont give money for upgrading coaches via courses, don't give extra payroll money..."we're good as we are now"... Have clause in club philosophy to buy players for "nothing" and to resell them for bigger money (only 25% goes to transfer budget)...when I was renewing contract I tried to ask for bigger salary, not much, just one click on +, I tried 10 times, all 10 times he decreased it to original offer :herman: After that I gave up and accepted.

Yeah that's tough but the failures on your team are pretty similar to mine. From my experience, with any small club you have to basically make your own budget. I didn't get any money to build until maybe when I qualified for Europa League II, and a few upset rounds and eventually winning it stabilized my bank balance, but I only then would have maybe £3M to spend. When I got to the CL I had maybe £10M to spend but I only got the £100M budgets by selling players at massive profits.

I’ve yet be at any club in any save in FM 20 where there wasn’t a “takeover rumor “. Not one.

There’s nothing you can do about it so just keep playing.

Just hope the dreaded takeover/new board buying players you don’t want doesn’t happen.

In my case, if a hypothetical takeover gets rid of the "Sign Russian Players" philosophy, that would help. A lot of the decent Russian players at this point would demand wages of £300k p/w, if not greater just to play for us. Given my transfer budgets are £300M+ these days if they don't blow that on two players I think that would be worth it for me if I don't have to "Sign Russian Players", and it isn't negotiable anymore when looking at the vision.

apart from Newcastle haha, i've had been taken over a few times when i've been testing stuff at Newcastle...a few times, they even make a few expensive signings

i think it's more likely to happen when your owner is prepared to sell/listen to offers.

    I think that's a good point.

  13. Right now he's "Loves the Club" if you're thinking of Owner Status. Moreover, if you're thinking of Investment-Oriented, consider that this was José Mourinho's club in between his stints at Benfica and Porto, and not just that, in the early 2010s, they went through a huge financial slump, so the current owner in Tolstikov saved them from stuff, and I will also admit that I was financially secure because he is an Underwriter (although he has not injected any money to the club now that I'm able to generate healthy profits from player sales).

  14. So I don't necessarily think I have proof for a "bug", per se, but I would be curious to see if this is considered an unusual situation.

I am managing União de Leiria in Portugal. I've had it explained to me that the odds that the chairman will wish to sell the club will be more likely as time goes on. In these saves thus far, I have had five failed takeover attempts at this point in the fifteen years, and the original owner of the club is still here, even after I have taken them from the Portuguese Championship to the Primeira Liga and successfully up Europe once, I would think that my owner would want to cash in and get a massive return on his investment.

Another thing that seems odd to me was that this takeover rumour was external but some of my past failed attempts were internal, but if you look at my club's board, our team is legitimately just the owner and one director. Does that affect the odds of an internal takeover as well?

  15. I've often paid £20-30M for some of the top regens from Brazil, I get some Argentine regens for a bit cheaper. I think you definitely need to have a big focus and have some scouts in Brazil or Argentina. I also personally have success in Colombia as well - some good, cheap young players who I have sold for profits.

But I wouldn't necessarily call it a "cheat" - an extensive scouting network will help you for sure though.

  16. I won the Champions League as Hearts in FM15, but it took me 12 seasons. Mentally you have to think to yourself to "make yourself the money you need to win the Champions League", so you have to think shrewd. If you can make the group stages of the CL, then you're already on the right track.

Increasing your country's coefficient is largely dependent on teams from your country winning CL/EL/EL2 games. If you make top 10, then if you become champions, you make it in automatically. It also means that selling people at a cut-rate to your domestic rivals if you walk all over them is a thing to consider as well.

If you're in a country like Greece, you will always have to mentally think to yourself as a selling team (really if you weren't from England, Germany, Spain, France, or Italy, you probably would have to). This means that you need to think that every player is sellable, but it also means that you need to be able to replace anyone on your team, so you need to build the heck out of your scouting network, often going to countries like Colombia, Croatia, etc.
