This season we are also competing in the champions league as we finished 3rd last season. It is still along way to go for us to compete with Monaco and PSG.

I had my doubts before the season as our squad looked far too small. I managed to bring in a few loans towards the end of the transfer window, which really meant a lot when the squad started to become tired. SC Sedan Ardennes End of Season 2016-2017 – Ligue 2 League - graph In the beginning of the season we played horribly. Before this season I changed to a 3-1-4-1-1 formation, and the players needed time to get used to it. I was aiming at getting draws and not risk too much in the beginning, but when the formation started to sit right with the players we dared more. We went from being satisfied with survival to aim for a mid-table position. Our good form continued when the other team’s forms dropped and we were suddenly pushing for the last promotion spot! In the end we lost out on goal difference, but I am still overjoyed with our season. Cups A decent cup run in the French Cup. Transfers As you will see below, Marco Rosenfelder was my best signing by far. Igor Fofana was brought in during the January window and although he has not played much he has developed quite well. He is 18 and is dubbed the new Didier Drogba! Finances Looks OK. Improved youth facilities to be finished in October. Key players GK: Umar Maijalingo – His first full season with us. Did good and looks good. DC: Ali Diomande – Our best defender and captain. DMC: Ulrik Yttergård Jensen – Was on loan from Lyon and played every match. Signed him permanently in the summer. AMC: Marco Rosenfelder – Our player of the season and was also elected in to the team of the year. Wonderful playmaker who managed 11 goals and 19 assists in the league. ST: Amadou Seck – Our best striker with 16 goals in the league last season. Hope he gets 20 goals this season! Youth academy players Nicolas Roy – Did not develop much last season due to a serious injury. Still have hopes for him Rolly Mfutila – Same as above. Damien Charles – Developed nicely. Also got his debut in a cup game against a lower league club and ended up scoring 4 (!) goals in the 45 minutes he played. Serigne Diedhiou – Developed OK. Marius Lescure – When this young lad popped up in the 2017 intake my jaw dropped. He is already my 3rd best striker and I have to fight of bids from the likes of Monaco and PSG. Thoughts/Goals A lot of my first team players are demanding ridiculously high wages and I am not sure if I can get good enough replacements. Only days from the season premiere and our squad is significantly smaller than last year. Board also decided to upgrade our youth facilities, so our wage budget is only 5k larger than last year. Aiming at 6th – the position predicted for us. Thank you! I was afraid we would struggle, so I played counterattacking tactic both home and away in the beginning, kept things simple and tried to exploit the speed of my forwards. When the opposistion adapted I changed to a more posession oriented tactic and it worked a charm. Still used the counterattacking tactic in some difficult away games, though.

SC Sedan Ardennes End of Season 2015-2016 – French National League - graph We were predicted to finish 15th, so finishing in 2nd place is simply amazing. I am really not that surprised as my team played pretty well throughout the whole season, as the graph indicates. I did have to really watch my tactics though, as I find that opponents are quicker to adapt to your successful tactics in this version. We actually had a good chance to win the whole thing in the last game of the season as Vannes lost their two last games, but a woeful performance in our last game agaist CA Bastia saw us finish second. Cups Not much going on here. Transfers Quite a lot of movement here. I can only thank the board for allowing me to scout parts of Africa. I asked several African clubs if their players could go on a trial with us, and most of them accepted. OK, so I signed talented young GK Sondre Rossbach after he was released by Odd Grenland in january. Here is his brother Erik Rossbach, which appeared in my first youth intake on FM14. Sondre Rossbach info + Erik Rossbach info. Its funny how their father is also in the game, a GK coach named Einar Rossbach. However, as you can see, it is only Sondre who has him listed as a favoured person.
