  1. Bear in mind I'm terrible lol but Lokeren is a decent way to fight the bug, they are basically a new club of top division stature after the old one went bust and get promoted to the 3rd division usually after 1 season. So the facilities they have at the start kind of offset the bug a bit. I'm pretty sure someone good at fm and used of these challenges could get back to back promotions but thats not me lol.
  2. A season of heartbreak... Lokeren 25/26 We started the season again at huge odds. 150/1 Facilities haven't really changed, minor downgrade due to advancement but no cash to counter that. Board Takeover - with us heading for -7m projected one of our board members bought the club. Nice. He wasn't shy about injecting money to keep us afloat but sadly nothing for me to spend on improving the club. The Season Itself: Yet again we were top after 16 games and yet again we fell away. In the end we came 5th and qualfied for the playoffs. So the above happened and I did a little dance, made a little noise and... realized there was another game between us and the promised land. Which despite the scoreline we were completely outplayed in. LeagueTable and Results: Youth Intake and our first Wonderkid? Slightly better mentalities this round too. HoYD paying off maybe. Already the best player at the club and has a value of 2m immediately aftering signing, I'm psyched. The Squad As usual red dots players who were here when I arrived, green dots, players under my reign. A look at the better young players, our new wonderkid aside. Squad Star Ratings: Transfers Summary: So a weird season, my top scorer last 2 seasons is youth player Ristic who has 6 for finishing but he's quick for the division we're playing in. Better youth intake but we have to stop blowing good situations, 2 seasons in a row top at the start of February only to fall down the table. This season was almost but should never have happened. That said given the way Genk tonked us in the cup (despite the score) we're probably not ready for the top division. Sadly we need to get there to beat the bug.
  3. Lokeren 24/25 Season (S2) We were strong tipped for midtable mediocrity. And for a while, it looked like we were going to smash that. We sat top of the league after 15 games (the half way point) But a nightmare February and March saw us hit a horrible slump. In the end we finished above our predictions but outside the playoffs by a couple of points. This is a big deal with the finance bug and one we may not recover from. Final Table: Squad Stats: Youth Intake: Sadly littered with trash mentalities, heres the two who look like standouts. Transfers: Yeah thats the pick of the bunch from last season I was all excited about last season who turned out to be a massive dick with slack mentality. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So with the finance bug hitting us ever harder and a 3 year projected loss of -7m we need promotion this season, with whats probably going to be a slightly weaker squad.
  4. Thanks buddy appreciate it, I had no clue staff search was still in the game, shoulda looked harder, curse the ability to hand all responsibilities over keeping me away from the search screen.
  5. Quick question, mostly looking for advice, so my Hoyd is fairly professional, I put up and advert and he was best I could find. The youth intake I was super excited about.. well lots of terrible mentalities came though and the future superstar I thought I had has slack for his mentality therefor (after ruining his mentor group with no influence, cussing me out numerous times and making zero improvement) he's back in the u18's and probably getting thrown out of the club at the first possible chance. Is there a solid way to find a hotd with better mentality bar post a job listing and pray?
  6. Lokeren End of Season 1. In the end we hit par based on predictions, but an amazing 2nd half of the season nonetheless. We were tipped for 2nd and thats where we finished. Amazing Run of Results: I didn't even change tactic. How close were we to the title, well this close. That 2nd last game of the season vs Rupel Boom. We started that day 2 pts behind and Club NXT must have felt the pressure from the media and getting over the line because they got trashed at home 3-0. We were a goal up with half and hour to play and blew it. We did excellently in the cup pushing a top division team all the way to extra time and statistically should have won the match. Youth Intake: Stupidly good for our level thanks to our facilites. The pick of the bunch is almost ready for our first team already. Looks a wonderful talent. . Other Youth Stuff Transfer Screens Battle vs Finance Bug: This could get messy till I can somehow wangle my way into Europe. We've got -1m after 1 season and after 3 we're projecting -5.9m. Probably going to need back to back promotions and then Uefa Conference in the next 2 seasons our finances will be totally dead and so will the save. Renewing contracts will be get very interesting.
  7. That sucks dude, is there a way to see if its saved on steam cloud if you use steam?
  8. We go again. So Belgium and its money bug. But a team thats super strong for the division and already has decent facilities. I think the key to this will be getting to European football and a way to counteract the finances before things get too bad. Options Proof: Manager:
  9. Thanks dude I might do it so I last more than 25 games this time. Just wanted to double check. Might offset the cash bug in Belgium too.
  10. Quick question as I'm unsure on the rules, seeing Belgium wasn't completed I decided to give it a try despite the bug and this happened. I imagine Lokeren is against the spirit of the challenge?
  11. Well I predicted November but I almost made christmas lol... What can I say we had 8 non-grey players on the books in total and had at least 2 injured non-stop. Starting every game with at least 5 1/2 white star grey players was quite tough and a goalkeeper who I think was a hologram didn't help. The board then inexplicibly demanded I drop one of my only non grey players who was rated 5 star due to bad form and it all got even worse. I really shouldn't have thrown that water bottle after the game vs Dover, thats when I lost all 8 people at the club. In the end though it was probably the shortest and worst attempt at this challenge from anyone thus far in living memory and I walk away feeling like Frank Lampard. On course to finish the season with 6 points. What a run of results... Luckily for me, I have a week off work, so we go again.
  12. Its been a long, long time since I played FM alot and my greatest achievement was completing the San Marino Challenge back in FM12. Beating England in the WC final 3-2 in 2050 (I think). I had a huge thread over in the stories section of the forum. So my wife got me fm23 for christmas and I've been playing about with Man City and a top level career learning the ins and out. I have owned other fm's but haven't had huge time with them since about 2016. This should be fun. After digesting a ton of youtube and tactical forum content I'm ready for a challenge. Foolishly I've picked England, I say foolishly because whilst its probably the toughest to work up the leagues, its probably the one that will be strongest and easiest to win the CL from. But alas I ain't simming another year for somewhere else. Looking at the promoted teams I opted for the ones with the worst odds and thus... Hired: With odds of 450/1 this should be a rough start. Manager Stats. Proof of Correct Option Settings: Not sure what else to put here other than we're crap. Facilities: Thats about it, wish me luck. I'll be sacked by November.
