The Associazione Calcio Bra ASD , better known as Bra , is an Italian football club based in the city of Bra , in the province of Cuneo . It plays in Serie D , the fourth division of the Italian championship .
Founded in 1913 with the name of Unione Sportiva Braidese, it boasts its participation in two Serie C championships as the greatest success in its history .
The club colors are yellow and red. Play your home games at the Attilio Bravi stadium.
Bra appears to have been founded in 1913 with the name US Braidese , adopting white and blue as its colours. The first match played by Braidese was Mondovì-Braidese 1-1 on 1 May 1913.
In 1924 it changed its name to SS Braidese .
In 1926 the stadium was inaugurated in viale Madonna dei Fiori n. 91 with a match against Torino won by the Granata 2-1.
In the 1926-27 season Braidese won the Piedmont III Division championship and was promoted to the II Division (third level, equivalent to today's Serie C). The Piedmontese reached the First Division but gave up joining the championship after just one year of militancy. The team thus entered the Second Division but in 1933 during the championship it withdrew and then disbanded. Bra was refounded in 1937 and adopted yellow and red as its club colors and started again from the First Division but withdrew once again during the championship in progress and started again from the Second Division. Subsequently it re-adopted white and blue as its social colours. From 1943 to 1945 the team suspended its activities due to the war and returned to activity in 1946, being admitted to Serie C. The presence in the third series was, however, ephemeral and Bra, after being relegated and then reinstated in the first year, was relegated again in 1948. The team remained inactive from 1949 to 1951 and then participated in the First Division championship.
In 1955 it took the name of Virtus Bra and re-adopted yellow and red as its club colours.
In 1959, during the championship, the club dissolved and the following year it participated in the Second Category. The Giallorossi remained in this category until 1965. After being inactive again, the club registered in the Third Category. When it played in the Second Category after the merger with Cinzano it took the name of Bra Cinzano and could therefore be brought back to the First Division. In 1974, following the bankruptcy of Cinzano, it resumed the name Associazione Calcio Bra , immediately being promoted to Promozione.
In the 1980-1981 season he won the Promotion again and after a few years he came to play in the Interregional championship which at the time was the fifth national division. Six years later they were relegated from the National Amateur Championship and after six seasons of Excellence after finishing in 2nd place they were promoted to Serie D, where they remained for just one season.
In 2012 he returned to Serie D by winning the Eccellenza championship and the following year he finished in 1st place in group A of Serie D, achieving a historic promotion to the Lega Pro Seconda Difesa. However, the season was very difficult and Bra placed last in the league, returning after a year of professionalism to Serie D. Since the 2023-2024 season, they have been 10 consecutive years of militancy in Serie D.
I rejected Alcione who I thought were a bit too big to start out at.
A club with history in the lower leagues, and how can I turn down Bra?!
And here's the tactics that the Assistant recommended:
We are £1,200 p/w over budget.
And here's the squad!
