Open Steam, go to the game (don't start the game yet), go to its settings, select properties then add -windowed to the startup options (interface has changed slightly in the newest Steam-update, so if you use an old one, it might look a bit different, still look for the startup options). I usually change back to full screen mode during the first match.

About the how and why, a couple posts back @Neil Brock stated that it had something to do with upscaling.

When I go to FM21 Properties within Steam there isn’t an option to add “Windowed” to the startup options. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I simply closed the game, force-opened it in windowed mode, then switched back to full screen.

Thank you! This worked really well and the match now runs smoothly.

The only negative is I can now only see two sections of info on my Touchline Tablet whereas previously I had 4. Any advice?

I think you may be on to something. Runs remarkably smoother after restarting in windowed mode (then switching back to full screen). Hopefully it can be fixed!

Did you have to close down the game while it was in windowed mode, open it again in windowed mode, then switch to full screen again?

  4. Has anyone else noticed a massive amount of lag since updating to macOS Big Sur 11.1?

I was previously watching the 3D match engine with Very Low settings and although the players looked slightly blurry the game was incredibly smooth

Now the graphics seem to have improved, even on the Very Low settings, but it’s so jumpy it’s not enjoyable to play?

Similar problem happened with FM19 from memory and SI introduced a Beta version which was improved

    Hey everyone,

It's really good to see a few of you starting as Spurs on FM21! I've started a 'mess about' save with Spurs so I'm not taking it too seriously as just using it to get used to some of the new bits but I will be starting over again once the full game is out. I was planning on creating a new thread for FM21 so I will look to get this out soon.

Really pleased to hear someone is keen to start the FM21 Spurs thread. Planning on starting my Spurs journey when the full release is out, how are you getting on?

If your Manager Picture has disappeared then it is worth raising the issues in the bugs forum.

Though in the meantime you should be able to re-add your manager pic from the Preferences Menu (Under Advanced - General option should be at the bottom).

Thank you! Will see if it disappears again and report if so! Could it be anything to do with reloading the skin?

  7. When I loaded up the Beta last night I was delighted to have the option to add my own real life profile picture for the first time so my real image showed when reading news articles etc as shown below.

I’ve been back on tonight and it’s gone!?!? Now I’m back to the 3D generated photo!?!?

Can anyone shed any light on this? Would much rather have a real photo of me than the artificial version!

Had a look at the Macs Uk - and you can only get the Mac Book Air under 1,200 which is your budget, and this only has a 128gb hard drive, which is incredibly small amount of space this day and age. And I don't think these portable macs come with any option of a graphics card at all.

Thank you I will check this out. Looking at the Apple finance options I may be able to stretch to the new 15 inch MacBook Pro, do you think that would be a good choice? Fully understand I'd be paying a premium for it to have a picture of a fruit on the back

For that money you'd be better off sourcing a laptop - you'd get much higher specs.

Whatever your feelings are towards Apple, they are horrendously overpriced for what's under the hood.

If you're set on a Mac we can look at that.

    This would be good.

Make sure you make your HDD the main folder for installing games/downloads etc. The SSD is quite small but having the OS on this would be a slight advantage to overall computer performance.

I'm open to suggestions on alternatives to a Mac, I would love a laptop which can smoothly play the 3D graphics again like when I first purchased this one!

I'd like to hear the best options for a Mac also if I do end up falling for Apple's seduction again!

  10. Apologies if this has been asked before. I'm looking to upgrade my MacBook Pro from around 5 years ago, the most important thing for me is to have a very smooth running 3D engine. When I first got this MacBook (I think for FM15 ish) it was flawless and obviously is now a little old and I have to lower all the graphic detail to get a smooth experience. I generally only run 5 leagues ish at a time as I only really like to manage in England.

I want to keep my budget to around the £1,200 I paid for this MacBook, any advice on what would work? Not really techy enough to understand the difference between MacBook, Pro & Air etc but I have fallen in love with Apple.

If I'd be better off moving away please advise as well!

    Thanks in advance
