    DORCHESTER TOWN FC

    BREAKING NEWS

After winning promotion to the English Vanarama National League South, the Board has decided to appoint Patrick van Dijk as the new manager. They believe and hope this young manager will bring success to Avenue Stadium. It will be a difficult first season for this manager as predictions say that Dorchester Town will relegate at the end of the season. So the task is to build a team that is able to avoid relegation. To help the Patrick van Dijk, the Board has decided the following budgets : Transfer Budget - € 7,365 and Payroll  - € 22,056 p/m.

  2. I am going to try this challenge. My first thought was going for FC United of Manchester but there will be several people that will chose this club.

There is another club in my mind that would be a possibilty but that probably will be more difficult to chose as I have no idea how big the chance will be that Rushden will win promotion. So I will be running the game a few times and see what is going to happen and what teams will win promotion. Once I do have found the right club, I will start this challenge and  keeping you all updated.

Hopefully Rushden is lucky. If not I will have to chose another team.

Speak you all soon, I hope :)

    DUNGANNON SWIFTS

    Season 2021 - 2022

When I started as manager of Dungannon Swifts, the were at the bottom of the table in the Danske Bank Premier. I knew I took a risk to become their manager as it was going to be a difficult job to avoid promotion. With11 matches played and only 7 points won, it was going to be a fight against relegation,

After 33 matches the Danske Bank Premier was split. As we were found in the bottom half of the competition, we had to play 5 matches to secure our spot in the Danske Bank Premier.

After a season in which we were found either at 12th place or 11th place, we managed to avoid direct relegation. As we finished 11th in the Dansk Bank Premier, we had to play 2 matches in the Playoffs against a team playing in the Lough41 Championship.

So at the end of the season, we managed to avoid relegation and so next season we would again play our matches in the Danske Bank Premier.

We managed to bring Silverware to Stangmore Park as we managed to win a Cup:

  4. Let's start this challenge with FM22 :)

I started my first job as a manager on Monday November 1 2021 when I was hired by Dungannon Swifts.

    Dungannon.png.995402794e7b0884e7a87ed8f7152726.png

When I arrived as their new manager, Dungannon had played already played 12 matches. The results were bad as they only managed to collect 4 points (W:1 / D:1 / L:10) and so they were at last spot in the Danske Bank Premiership (N. Ireland). My task for this season was to avoid relegation.

  5. My 2nd season at AFC Dunkirk has ended and we won 2 prices. In the East Midlands Counties League, we were the strongest team. We won 31 matches en 7  ended in a draw. We domated this league completely and ended the season with a total of 100 points, we scored 99 goals and conceded 23 goals.  So we won promotion to the United Counties League Premier Division.

Last season we were not able to play a role in the Cup as we were quicly eliminated. This season we did a lot better and won the East Midlands Counties League Cup by winning the Finals against Heanors Town by 3-2 and lifted this Cup.

  6. We managed to win the Nottinghhamshire Senior League Premier Division after playing 26 matches (won 25 / lost 1) with a total of 75 points. We scored 96 goals and conceded 24 goals. As we still needed tp play 6 matches, our stats in this first season could get even better. We were not going to add a second price this seaon as we did not seem to be good cup=fighters.

  7. SEASON 2 (2021/2022)

    Linfield.jpg.f5f952e57b336b1a2b88a97d5d9fc93b.jpg

    Linfield, Danske Bank Premiership

My second season at Linfield was very successful. We won the Danske Bank Premiership with a total of 94 points and a gap of 19 points. For me it was the second time to win it. It was the fourth time in a row that Linfield did win this price. We managed to win 30 of the 38 matches in this League. The remaining 8 matches ended in 4 draws and 4 defeats. We scored 95 goals and conceeded 32 goals. It was Lavery becoming the topscorer with a total of 45 goals. Manzinga was second with 27 goals scored.

Besides winning the Danske Bank Premiership, we added another 4 trophies to our total. For the second time in a row, we managed to win the Northen Irish Cup. Also we were able to win the Northern Irish County Antrim Shield, All-Ireland Champions Cup, Bet McLean League Cup and Northern Irish Cup.

In the European competitions we were not able to win qualification. In the Champions Cup we lost in the First Qualifying Round against GNK Dinamo Zagreb. In the Euro Cup 2, we managed to survive the Third Qualifying Round against Laçi. It was Malmö FF that was to strong in the Fourth Qualifying Round.

  8. SEASON 1 (2020/2021)

    Linfield.jpg.cd34fe2e9bf9a7d57b7c8f362cc831de.jpg

     Linfield, Danske Bank Premiership

It has been a great Christmas for me this year, as I was given a 1-year contract at Linfield, worth € 6,500 a month. Linfield is seen as the team to beat and favourite to win the title every year. After having played 11 matches, Linfield were found 7th spot at the table and that was the reason for the board to send away the manager. As we were only 6 points behind first place, so still had every chance to turn things around.

We still to play 22 matches in the Danske Bank Premiership befor the Legaue would be split in 2 halves. The top 6 teams will play for the title and the bottom 6 teams are fighting against relegation. So my goal in the remaining matches was to make sure we were in the top of the table. We had an excellent run as we managed to stay unbeaten in these 22 matches. We won 17 matches and the other 5 matches ended in a draw. As a result we were first spot in the Danske Bank Premiership with a 14 point lead over second placed Larne. So after the League was split in 2 halves, we only needed 1 win to secure this years title.

The first match in this last stage of the competition ended in a disappoining 2-1 defeat in a home match against Glentoran. My first lost match as a manager. Still we got some good news as Larne also lost their match. Only Larne still has a very small chance to win the title, but only if they would win every match and we would lose every match. So as they did lose their match against Crusaders, we still won the Danske Bank Premiership. We ended the season with a total ot 82 points and a goaldifference of 51 (96-45).

Also in the Northern Irish Cup, Linfield was seen as possible winner. As we play in the Danske Bank Premiership, we start this competition in the 5th round. So to win this Cup we only had to win 5 matches. In the 5th Round we won 3-1 against Lisburn Distillery. In the 6th Round we faced PSNI and won by 4-1. The Quarter Final ended in a 3-0 victory against Harland & Wolff Welders. In the Semi Finals we won against Partadown by 2-1 in extra time. In the Northern Irish Cup Final we played against Carrick Rangers. We were the stronger team as was expected but only won by a 1-0 score. But still we did win the Northern Irish Cup this season.

A good start of my career as a manager as I was able to win double in Northern Ireland.

  10. Season 2019-2020 : FC HALIFAX TOWN (Vanarama National League)

I have signed a contract for 7 months at the Shay. At the moment FC Halifax Town is at spot 20 in the Vanarama National League ( played: 22 / points 23). Still the goal for this season is to finish mid-table. So that means a lot of work has to be done as currently we are very close to a relegation spot.

It was a difficult season as we were not able to get away from spots near relegation zone. We especially had problems to score goals. At the end of the season we were at spot 18 with a total of 50 points and avoided relegation.

We reached the FA Trophy Finals on Wembley but ended up as the runners up as we lost the match by penalties.

Though it was a dificult season and there were moments that I thought that I would be sacked, I was offered a 1-year contract. I decided to accept this contract and stay another year at the Shay.
