We don't have any other DC's who are suitable at all for playing Libero, (even if we squint), and at the same time I don't like the options shown above, so I have been forced to think outside the box for a solution. 

We have quite a few central midfielders, but as we only play 2 in the middle of the pitch, it's tough for young players to get a game there when everyone is fit. There are 2 young players who I like the look of, and while obviously not natural Libero's, (or even centre-backs), I do think they might be better than the options Already considered. 

(43b) Bradley (Perfect) * is the player that broke into the 1st Team really early and played in our failed Playoff attempt a few seasons ago. I really like him, (despite the fact that he's no longer "Perfect", and he has many of the tools needed to play Libero(s), (although the defensive side of his game is lacking right now with marking tackling and strength all big issues, and even positioning a little bit of an issue. I think we would concede more goals with him in the team, but with the ball he would really help us. 

(46a) Savoury (Real) * MC is a younger version and probably better rounded too, (although earlier in his development). 

Who do you like and who do you really dislike? 

There isn't a good choice among them. It's really a question I finding the least bad option.  Unless of course we get a lovely Libero through the intake, (but the chances of that happening are astronomical I think. 

 

I’d go for the last lad Savoury. Get him on the training schedule and start giving him some game time where you can

Me too. Just added to a post in the support section. I play on an Alienware laptop and the Beta was fine. Since the last patch the game slows down and makes it hard to even save and shut down

You have one striker who is a TM on support. He will be dropping deep to hold the ball up. You need more players making runs behind him to utilise that. I’d change the LW to an IF or have the striker as a DLF-Attack

Just finally caught up with this and can honestly say it’s a brilliant piece yet again. As  was said earlier, it’s a shame a lot of the younger players these days just want a list of tactics to plug and play and don’t seem to have the time to absorb the detailed posts on here. I’m coming up 43 now and love the fact I’m still learning new stuff each year. 
 

I’ve only ever succeeded with a direct tactic a couple of times over the years and always felt the last few releases were favoured towards high pressing and short passing. I still have loads of ideas how I’d like my team to play but struggle to implement them so this post has really helped! Keep up the good work Cleon 👍🏻

Have you saved them into the tactics folder? Click load tactic and search through the folder tree to tactics and it should show in there

First thought on that tactic is the IF-s and AM-s are both in the space where the F9 needs to operate and there looks to be nobody running beyond him into the spaces

I had a brilliant career in Scotland last year with Stranraer. Took them up to the Prem playing a low block with a low, narrow defensive line. The key is indeed getting the roles right and I usually played on a balanced mentality with lots of passing into space and good dribblers carrying the ball up the field

Just make small changes in each match. Definitely change a winger to an inside forward as there’s hardly anyone running into the box. Change you’re Dlp to defend for more cover and remove pass into space.

There was a bug in FM21 where it didn’t show sometimes and I had to click the reset button for it to appear.

I’m no expert but can see you have too many attacking roles in your front 5 and you play very high up the pitch trying to pass into space where there is none. I’d change the IW to support for starters.

I play something similar but always start on a balanced mentality. I only use cautious when we’re clear underdogs.
Standard def line is fine with lower LOE. We use get stuck in and have the attacking players closing down more. Pass into space is the key when wanting to break fast from deep. I always play shorter passing with a standard tempo and up it if chasing a game

You play with a lower line of engagement but with counter-pressing on which is a bit backwards. I’d use regroup so your players fall into their 2 banks of 4 when you lose the ball

I’d drop the 2 mids into the DM spots and use a DLP-D and a SV-S next to him.
