  1. I did dabble with this on FM2011. You need to change the 'short name' of the club. This is by default limited to 25 characters. You must have downloaded the editor. The file you need to amend is called club.xml and is found here... C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2014 Editor\data\format\database Find and open 'club.xml' with notepad. Look for this bit of code in club.xml (near the top) <!-- short name --> <record> <flags id="field" value="Csnm" /> <translation id="name" translation_id="292684" type="use" value="Short Name" /> <flags id="type" value="string" /> <boolean id="is_client_field" value="true" /> <boolean id="is_language_field" value="true" /> <integer id="max_length" value="25" /> </record> And change the "max length" from 25 to however many characters you want. Save the file club.xml Run the editor and then you can edit the short name of clubs to more than 25 characters.
  2. First page when you click on preferences on the top right side with the heading 'Saving'. You will see 'location' and in grey the default location address. Which is: C:\Users\*Name*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014 So what I've done is recreated the folder structure on drive you want it on, say drive 'E': E:\Users\*Name*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014 You then use 'change folder' to find the folder 'Football Manager 2014' that you have just created. Restart the game for it to take affect, and all the saved games will be saved in the new location where can also put all you facepacks etc.
  3. Indeed the game does let you change the save directory. But it will pick up any graphic files like your face pack as well. Look in preferences *Drive Letter*:\Users\*Name*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014\Graphics
  4. Do you guys have any custom graphics? If so you need to rename your 'graphics' folder to anything other than this. Folder found in: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014\graphics
  5. Not down to level 11. I've never seen one. Best bet is to look on sortitoutsi.net
  6. Sorry it is not possible to edit the hall of fame file. I wish it could be. I have lost so many trophies on mine over the years Always keep a regular backup. Bit OTT, but I backup everything once a week.
  7. Address doesn't go to a specific laptop just the shop home page. Do you know the spec?
  8. Joe Cole & Craig Bellamy still at Liverpool??? But otherwise keep up the good work!
  9. I suspect it is because gilshl has a 32-bit OS and Dave80 has a 64-bit OS. Is this correct guys? They have put a restriction on users on 32-bit OS as it was causing crashes on previous games.
  10. This appears to be a slow closing of a door to users of 32bit OS users wanting to play FM. Though I have never experienced an crash due to having too many players loaded, including a holiday game with every single league loaded with a english level 11 running on top. Been running 64bit OS for the last three and a half years.
  11. You will just face a higher limitation of about 125,000 if my laptop is anything to go by.
  12. I think it suggested 125,000 maximum players on my 64bit laptop. I'm now going to push it by selecting 167,000 players to start the game.
  13. I'll be very surprised if anything gets done. Nothing has happened for months editing wise, people are just playing with db not bug solving. Sorry to bring you bad news.
  14. Try this: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/211726-Schmeichels-FM-2007-Update
  15. The hybrid SSD will only help the performance of FM12 if you play FM12 on a regular basis so that the SSD moves the relevant files into the 8GB SSD section. You will only notice an increase in loading and saving times and not in general gameplay speed. The SSD part will speed up the boot speed of the computer somewhat. Personally, after using an SSD (as an OS drive) for the last 18 months the speed of a standard HDD is more than a tad frustrating. I would be very surprised if you manage to get a laptop with dedicated graphics and a SSD for £500.

  17. Have you downloaded any kits (*.png) for english clubs? These will overwrite any kit displayed that you've made in the editor I believe.
  18. Never had a crash with DB lvl 14 v22.2, currently at September 2015 on a holiday game with all leagues.
  19. A player called Steven Darby on FM06 - English midfielder, scored goals for fun from midfield. A kind of copy of Steven Gerrard but that little bit better. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  20. 1) Don't run so many leagues from the start. 2) Terminate any pointless programs running in the background. 3) Upgrade your hardware. (what is your system spec)?
