Player of the year not doing much next season... any advice?

Hi, I have a very good striker who doesn¨t seem to turn up this season. I tried talking to him after a bad match about his perfomance and I tried to rest him for a few matches. He wins a lot of headers but never seem to be on target this season. What do you do in this situation?

 

Here is my tactic if that matters, its the same as last year, only real change is that I have a inverted winger on the left side very often. Jak Makel plays winger attack and the new winger John Fogarty is inverted.

I am 5 points behind TNS and they never seem to loose any points... they have lost against me once and had one draw this season (I also lost against them once)
