Let´s take a look back. GERMANY Bayern retain the title and Stuttgart and Augsburg are relegated. Lewandowski tops the goalscorer chart before he is off to Barcelona, with Erling Haaland finishing 3rd. Bayern do the domestic double, beating rivals Dortmund in the final. ENGLAND Man City win the title. Brighton, Palace and Watford go down. Lukaku scores 22 goals to win the golden boot. Aston Villa win the Carabao Cup. Quite a surprise. Liverpool beat Arsenal to win the FA Cup. SPAIN Real Madrid win La Liga, while rivals Barcelona finish only in 5th place! Rayo, Mallorca and Osasuna go down. Benzema scores the most (19) goals. Betis win the Copa del Rey. ITALY Juventus beat Inter to win the title in Italy. Salerno, Spezia and Venezia are relegated. Vlahovic scores 25 goals to win the top goalscorer award. Roma beat Juventus in the Coppa Italia final. FRANCE PSG retain the title with a big margin. Metz & Reims go down. Mbappe scores 20 goals to top the goalscorers chart. Bordeaux win the Coupe de France. EUROPE Chelsea win the Champions League again. Inter win the Europa League title, beating Lazio in the final. Feyenoord win the first Europa Conference League title. AWARDS The ballon d´Or goes to Mohamed Salah. Thibaut Courtois wins the Golden Glove. Erling Haaland wins the FIFA U21´s best player award. Musiala wins European Golden Boy. How far can Bayern go with the South African magician? A brief look at the history of the club. THE TEAM These are the players Nagelsmann left for me when he decided to quit. Lewa is gone. We could definitely do with some new signings and some loadoffs of deadwood. KEY PLAYER I am glad Nagelsmann did not sell him to Man City. He is so important for Bayern. Carambau Posted October 30, 2022 Author Share Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) TRANSFERS - TEAM OVERVIEW - PRE-SEASON TRANSFERS Lewandowski is an extremely big loss and it is going to be nearly impossible to replace him in attack. We had to let Gnabry go for a transfer offer like that. Süle left for free to join our biggest rivals. All other departures make total sense as those players never had any chances of playing much this season. The two players from Ajax, together with Zvonarek, are investments into the future. Mané and Rice should go straight into our first team, while Barbosa and Mudryk are planned for rotation. Our star signing this season. Team Overview Neuer is still the king. Schneller is a hot prospect. Ulreich provides experience. Upapmecano will feature alongside Hernandez with Nianzou providing pressure. Kimmich will be our right wing back, while Davies will do the same on the left side. Pavard and Mazraoui are backups. Rice will play in defensive midfield. Richards has been sold Mudryk and Gravenberch are great talents and will get their playing minutes for sure. Our midfield looks packed with talent and experience. Mané will have huge footsteps to step into, Barbosa can come from the bench. A Bayern Legend, already. A new Star in the making. Pre-Season The friendlies went very well. Carambau Posted October 30, 2022 Author Share Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 2022 RESULTS What a great start, if you exclude the game against Mainz! We were awful in that game and Mainz totally deserved to win. Fortunately we were able to pick ourselves up after that disappointment and kept on winning the next three games without conceding. We also won our first three games in the UEFA Champions League in a very tough group. Oh, and we won the DFL Supercup against RB Leipzig comfortably despite playing mostly bench players. DFL SUPERCUP FINAL RB Leipzig were completely under our control. One more title to add to our trophy room. The first Bayern silverware for Joe Baxter though. BUNDESLIGA Mané with 11 goals in the first 6 matches! He definitely is looking to follow into Lewandowskis footsteps! Kimmich has the best average rating BY FAR. Mainz are really looking to challenge early in the season. We should know - they beat us. Also, Bochum and Bielefeld up there with the big ones is an unusual sight. Let´s wait and see if they have the endurance and quality to keep this up. UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE We top the group. This is looking promising. NINE matches in october - on the other hand it was a great opportunity to rotate the squad and give the benchers some game minutes. And especially new signing Mudryk grasped his chance by scoring a hattrick against Freiburg. Barbosa also got his chances but he looks rather... not that good to me. Only one goal by now - I expected more from him. But let us wait and see, the season is still long. And we clinched early qualification from our Champions League group too. Now its only one game left in November for us and then the World Cup takes place. The season will continue in January. BUNDESLIGA Well, as predicted the surprise teams Mainz, Bochum and Bielefeld fell down the line and the usual suspects begin to position themselves behind us. Mané scored only 3 league goals this month, but that was due to rotation. Dortmund are already NINETEEN points behind us, they sacked Joachim Löw in October and now Lars Ricken is their interim manager. Schadenfreude UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE We are already the group winners because we win the head-to-head against Man United. NEWS This is a heavy blow for us! 5-6 weeks! Even worse - this very likely puts him out of the Germany World Cup Squad as the World Cup begins next month! See you again in January 2023. UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE The draw for the next round will be made on 12/12/2022. NEWS It´s official. Manuel Neuer is out of the World Cup 2022 as he is still injured. Congrats to the new World Champion Germany! Robert Lewandowski showed that he is still one of the best strikers in the world. Nice to see our players Sané, Kimmich and Musiala up there with the best. There were two tough matches though, one against Dortmund which we steered home after going into the lead early on and the match in Leipzig, when Thomas Müller scored the winner after a questionable penalty for us. Whatever - we won every game in the last two months. And we reached the semi finals of the DFB-Pokal. BUNDESLIGA Kimmich is out of this world and Mané is scoring nicely. Apart from that, our successful runs continue as we clinch the Bundesliga title and reach the finals of both the DFB-Pokal and the Champions League (the latter with a last-gasp equalizer by super sub Gabriel Barbosa to reach the penalty shootout which we won). BUNDESLIGA Business as usual. And Mané scoops the topscorer award. DFB-POKAL FINAL Freiburg were no match. We win the cup again. UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL Sweet Revenge for the 2010 CL final. We did not have many reasons to reject those offers. Barbosa goes on loan as he is not feeling well here. And many loans for development. We sign one legend, one world class midfielder and one backup for defense. Our star signing this season. Our other star signing this season. Team Overview Neuer is our number one. Nübel is back from his loan. Schneller is a hot prospect. Ulreich is relegated to the reserves. Carvajal provides backup for both sides. No other changes here. Milinkovic-Savic offers even more quality in central midfield. Gravenberch & Mudryk are developing well. Zlatan. And Mané. We extended his contract until 2025. Great improvement last year.
