FM20 Online network game running very slow for non host

I have recently been trying to play an online game with 5 other friends on our own custom database (FM20). For everyone else the game runs perfectly fine with no issues but nearly every time I try to play it runs painfully slow and is virtually unplayable for me. I am wondering if this is simply a wifi issue on my part? (My wifi works reasonably well on my laptop and other devices) or if it might be something to do with my laptop? (I have played online games before on it and it worked perfectly)
