Västerås SK v. Mellerud

Arosvallen, Västerås

First Division leaders Mellerud were held by a determined Våsterås side. The dull 0-0 scoreline was reflective of the attacking quality on the pitch. Neither side ever really looked like breaking the deadlock.

Mellerud v. Brage

RÃ¥davallen

Mellerud continued their surprise run at the top of the table with a fine 3-0 victory over strugglers Brage.

Fredrik Andersson opened the scoring in the 24th minute when he rose above Mats Wejsfelt to head home a cross supplied byJoel Karsson.

Two minutes later, Alex Mabäcker Johansson double Mellerud's advantage. Wejsfelt's horrible afternoon continued as he ended up as supplier of the goal. His awful pass across the middle was intercepted by Johansson, who had no problem beating just the goalkeeper.

Johansson added a third on 72 minutes with a left-footed drive from the edge of the penalty area that was never going to be stopped.

Landskrona v. Mellerud

Landskrona IP, Landskrona

Mellerud took advantage of the few chances they were given in their 3-1 victory at Landskrona. Anders Lidström now sees his side a remarkable six points clear early in the season.

Peter Andersson put the visitors in front on just 2 minutes. He rose above the rest of players on Ninos Thöre's corner and headed it past Landskrona's helpless goalkeeper.

Mellerud's set piece brillance continued on their second goal. Thöre's corner met the head of an unmarked Bo Nordh, who headed it through traffic and found the back of the net.

Landskrona pulled one back on 84 minutes, when Måns Sörensson received the ball with no one around him at the edge of the area. He had no trouble beating Marcus Sahlman and the hosts now had hope of finding an equaliser.

This was squashed two minutes later by Henrik Olsson, again from a corner. Thöre sent the ball in, and Peter Andersson headed into Olsson's path, so he could conveniently bury it in the bottom corner.

1st June 2005 - Swedish Cup 3rd Round

Mellerud v. Trelleborg

RÃ¥davallen

Mellerud advanced to the fourth round of the Swedish Cup on the back of a Fredrik Andersson brace. Andersson was the sole individual on the pitch who was a threat to break the match open on either team.

Andersson scored his first on sixteen minutes with a well taken shot from the corner of the penalty area that curled past Björn Levin's hands and into the goal.

He put the match away with his second late in second half injury time. He collected the rebound from a Ninos Thöre shot and put it in off of the post.

Mellerud now face Helsingborg in the fourth round at RÃ¥davallen.

Mellerud v. Ängelholm

RÃ¥davallen

There was no let up at the Mellerud camp following their midweek victory in the Swedish Cup. They took the match to their competitors and were rewarded with a 3-0 victory.

Fredrik Andersson opened the scoring in the 35th minute with a fantastic volley that beat stunned Ängelholm goalkeeper Jonas Sandkvist.

Nine minutes later, Andersson bagged his second from the penalty spot after Alex Mabäcker Johansson went down after a clumsy challenge from Marcus Eriksson.

Johansson made it 3-0 ten minutes from time with a sensational goal. Taking the ball at the halfway line, he ran at the defence, and quickly found himself alone with Sandkvist. The goalkeeper saved his first shot, but his rebound was put away by Johansson.

Gefle v. Mellerud

Strömvallen, Gävle

Mellerud were bored into submission by a Gefle side determined to defend to the end. A 0-0 draw was always on the cards, but the way in which they were stopped in attack has to be worrying to the supporters and Anders Lidström. Also worrying had to be the injury suffered to Alex Mabäcker Johansson. Mellerud's young starlet suffered a knee injury that may keep him out for some time.

Mellerud v. Öster

RÃ¥davallen

Mellerud's struggles in front of goal continued as they had to come from behind to get a 1-1 draw against Öster at Rådavallen.

Matthias Eklund gave the visitors the early lead in just the second minute. He rose from a crowd of Mellerud defenders to head the ball in from a corner kick. Conny Månsson, Öster's goalkeeper, then frustrated Mellerud's attackers with his excellent play.

However, Mellerud finally found an equaliser in the 67th minute. Alex Mabäcker Johansson chipped Månsson, who surprisingly ran off his line, but Johansson saw him and knew what to do.

Enköpings SK v. Mellerud

Enavallen, Enköping

Mellerud narrowly avoided their first defeat in the league thanks to some late heroics from Fredrik Andersson. The hosts had the league leaders on the ropes for much of the match, and they have to be aggrieved to only take a point against Mellerud.

Enköpings went in front with the only goal of the first half on thirteen minutes. Savo Drobac pounced on his own rebound easily as he was unmarked.

Alex Mabäcker Johansson found an equaliser for Mellerud thirteen minutes after the break when his shot was partially deflected by goalkeeper Driss El Asmar and dribbled slowly across the line to make it 1-1.

It took Enköpings only five minutes to respond to the challenge. Oliver Teran headed a ball over Daniel Barac and connected with Samuel Ayorinde, who finished quite easily.

With 94 minutes on the clock, Mellerud found their last gasp equaliser. Johansson teased a pass beyond Andreas Stridh six yards from goal, and Andersson was on the other end to bury it.

Trelleborg v. Mellerud

VÃ¥ngavallen, Trelleborg

Trelleborg displayed a fighting quality that has been unseen against Mellerud for most of the season, as they fought from a goal down to draw 1-1. An otherwise dull match opened up on 63 minutes when Alex Mabäcker Johansson displayed some of his trademark flair in going around the last defender and rounding goalkeeper Björn Levin to put Mellerud in front.

Trelleborg equalised eight minutes from time through Vitali Gussev. The Estonian international took the absolutely brilliant pass from Gezim Osmani and volleyed it in from just inside the penalty area to the delight of the home supporters.

Mellerud v. Brommapojkarna

RÃ¥davallen

Mellerud needed a late winner from Omar Fejzulovski to take three points from a match that they otherwise controlled. Fejzulovski came off of the bench after an injury to Alex Mabäcker Johansson and scored the goal nine minutes from time. Fredrik Andersson curled a pass beyond Kenneth Sandberg and hit Fejzulovski unmarked seven yards from goal for the simple tap-in.

Mellerud v. Assyriska

RÃ¥davallen

Mellerud took advantage of two quick goals after the hour mark to defeat nine man Assyriska at Rådavallen. First, Ghassan Heamed was sent off for on a second yellow for dissent on twelve minutes. Right after the break, Rickard Engström was sent off on a second yellow due to a brutal challenge on David Lundström.

It took nearly twenty minutes of playing with the two man advantage, but Mellerud finally broke through. Omar Fejzulovski timed a run perfectly behind the defence and got on a long ball supplied by Alex Mabäcker Johansson and rounded the keeper to open the scoring. It was 2-0 only four minutes later. Henrik Eriksson received the ball on an overlapping run and buried a shot into the roof of the net for his first goal of the season.

Friska Viljor v. Mellerud

Skyttis IP, Örnsköldsvik

Mellerud turned on the style in their 2-0 victory over bottom side Friska Viljor. The hosts put up a good deal of resistance for the top side in the First Division, but they fell just as many have fallen this season.

Jon Bergenholtz opened the scoring for the visitors in the 25th minute. Ninos Thöre's well placed free kick from the right was headed home by the midfielder.

Alex Mabäcker Johansson added the second fourteen minutes from time. His abilities have quickly made him a legend at Rådavallen and he proved that fact once again. He used his pace to dribble around two defenders, and gathered the rebound after his first effort was stopped by Glenn Schöön and finished well from an acute angle.
