[FM14] European Super League

Recommended Posts

This is my attempt at creating a European Super League, with the best 656 clubs from around Europe. The competition is based in Gibraltar, and right now this renders virtually every European nation unplayable. The structure is an eleven layer pyramid, with the clubs distributed according to reputation. There is promotion/relegation between each level, generally 3 up/down.

The top league is the 20 team European Premier League:

Next is the 20 team European First Division:

The European Second Division has 24 teams (with 6 team relegated each season):

The Third Division, and each subsequent division, is split into three divisions: West (20 teams), Central (22 teams) and East (22 teams).

The bottom layer of the pyramid is the European Challenge League, a collection of 144 clubs which are randomly divided into 6 groups. Eighteen clubs will gain promotion to the 9th Division each season.

There is a European Cup competition, involving all 512 teams from the top 10 levels of the pyramid, and a European Challenge Cup for the teams in the European Challenge League. There are also 8 other cups (of 64 teams each), one for the top 3 levels, and one for each subsequent level. These are named after 8 of the greatest retired European footballs. The names were assigned randomly to each cup.

I have provided ample tv money for each level I do believe. I tried to make sure the teams in the challenge league would have enough funds to cover all the travel expenses. I have decided not to have prize money assigned according to final league standings, instead I have assigned money every time you win or draw a match. The more games you win, the richer your club will get.

This is my first attempt at sharing a custom database, and I do welcome all feedback. I have been particularly intrigued with having a pan-European league and I also love having symmetry in a league structure.

UPDATE: I have made an update to switch 4 teams between the Third div central & west divisions.

Your third division screenshots. You have Lens, Lorient, Montpellier, Rennes, Sochaux and Toulouse in the West, but Almeria, Elche, Rayo and Sporting Gijon in the Central.

I've fixed the Third Division West & Central. Thank you for noticing. I Still have to leave two french clubs in the West division to make the numbers work. But all the Spanish clubs are now in the West.
