The national and the Algerian clubs have evolved over continental and global level. The competitions are organized by the FAF, the Algerian Football Federation. There are 3 levels or divisions of national football organized under several regional levels related to different regions of Algeria. The illustration below shows the different levels. At the end of the season, teams can move up or down a division. The champion in a series can go directly to the next level. In the lower levels the other teams vying for the final round to the next level or to avoid the descent. When one division has several series, the clubs are usually divided according to their geographical location. Competitions level 1 and 2 are organized by the National Football League, those of level 3 regions inter-league football, those of level 4 and 5 regional leagues of football, and the level of more than 6 are organized by wilayas football leagues and leagues communal football.
