Badges and logos help

For some reason after the first patch for FM10 was downloaded my 'show badges and logos' box seemed to disapear, i've tried unticking and ticking all the other boxes to get it back again but still nothing. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated!

I think the button was removed in one of the patches (not sure why) but you should be able to get to the file and manually edit it, first you need to locate your settings folder on Windows Vista/7 it will be located here:

C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\settings\Version 1003

Windows XP here:

C:\Documents and Settings\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\settings\Version 1003

Inside that folder will be loads of files locate the one called show_badges.xml open the file with notepad to display logos this line should read 1:

<string id="valu" value="1"/>

To disable logos the line will read 0:

<string id="valu" value="0"/>

Make the change, save the file and load the game and the logos should now display (or be disabled if that's what you set).

I don't entirely understand which part of my computer i need to go into to access the file, how do I get into the application data section?

I have actually just found some of those settings folders in the application data section, however none of them mention anything to do with badges, where do I go from here? Your help is much appreciated by the way!

I don't know why that file isn't present, an easier way is to download my Netbook Skin as that skin still has the show badges button enabled and if you apply the Netbook skin you should be able to turn the badges on and off again. (Changes should affect other skins aswell).
