different types of wide play

Recommended Posts

i. player sometimes cuts inside and sometimes hugs touchline

ii. winger dribbles towards the centre from the wing when he recieves the ball, C.Ronaldo style.

iii. central player pulls wide, wide player plays more narrow

iv. traditional winger style i.e. dribble down the touchline, cross at the corner flag.

Just my thoughts based on common sense and real life football watching, the fm match engine doesn't always follow this logic however ;-)

yeah, he's a good crosser so that'd work. Although, I bought him for Arsenal and made him into a right winger- made him cut inside onto his left foot to take adavantage of his long shot ability, he scored 15 goals his first season...depends on your system I guess.

personally, I have him cut inside if you play him wide, but if you play him centrally I'd have him move into channels. Try him in both positions and see where he does the most damage. Also, personality-wise he's not good, and this means he may not develop to his fullest...try to tutor him if you can.
