  • unrealistic player wage demands

    Why do my players suddenly demand ridiculously high wage increases when I want to sign them onto new deals? Just for example, Nils Petersen is on £9,000 per week, but when I went to enter negotiations with him, he wanted £40k and wouldn't negotiate even down to £33k, which is the maximum that I could offer him. As a result, he will leave on a free transfer instead. How is it realistic for a 34 year old player to demand a wage hike of almost 350%?

    I've had this problem with other players too - as another example, Roland Sallai demanded a wage of £28,000 per week, whereas I believe beforehand, he was on about £12,000 per week.

    These massive demands aren't just irritating, but damaging for player morale when I'm unable to meet contract demands, and for the club when pre-contracts are offered to all the players I'm simply unable to afford to keep.

    The save file I uploaded for another issue called 'freiburg press conference.fm' is before this, albeit in November I believe, if that works? I don't think I have any saves closer to the date of the tallks breaking down.
