  • FC Vaduz not being declared Swiss Super League Champions

    Hi there,

I have just finished 1st in the Swiss Super League with FC Vaduz and have not been given the championship, this has gone to Basel who finished 2nd. I know that Vaduz count as a Liechtensteiner club and not a Swiss club and are not able to qualify for continental football via the Swiss league, but surely they should still be able to be crowned league champions even though they wouldn't take up a relevant Champions League spot. The season before I won the 2nd tier (the Swiss Challenge League), and was successfully crowned champions of that which would confirm my suspicions that this is a bug if I was given that silverware. The 'UECL' next to Vaduz in the screenshot is due to winning the Liechtensteiner cup which is the only legitimate way of them qualifying for continental football.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Would you be able to provide a save file so we could investigate this, please, ideally before being crowned champion? Imagine it's just something that slipped past our tests as it hasn't ever happened in real life!

Hi Kyle, thanks for getting back to me. I think you're probably correct, as it's never happened (or ever likely to happen!) in real life, I imagine it was overlooked. I have uploaded a save file entitled 'FC Vaduz - League Champs Bug' to SI Cloud Service. Unfortunately, this is a couple of months after Vaduz were crowned champions as I didn't have one before, which I should've made sure I did in hindsight, so apologies for that.

    Thanks for your help
