  • FA Trophy Rules Very Incorrect

The rules on replays, 2nd legs and extra time for the FA Trophy are significantly wrong.

In real life there are no replays, no two leg semi final and no extra time (apart from the final). All games apart from the final go straight to penalties after 90 mins.

In game, there are replays, extra time and a two legged semi final.

These are the FAs rules for this season2B06CA57-AF80-48DD-AEB7-44B281CE6B80.jpeg.926928d656a4ae3445a3951331699a55.jpeg

Yep, this is as per the original issue I updated in the FM23 beta bug tracker ...

Hugely frustrating and disappointing that the biggest competition in English non-league football is so flawed !

Thanks for flagging this with us, this is one that we are aware of and so we are looking into this further.

Any update? It’s been a while since the last comment. Will this be fixed in the next patch?

It is so easy to fix you just need to change replays number to 0 in the code which is easy to do

I have changed it myself in pre game editor & stress tested it for 30 seasons without any issues

So how can someone from SI say that due to the nature of issue no timeline can be given

Hello @andys7_3, I'm glad to hear you've found a temporary fix by utilising the pre-game editor.

Abdullah is quite right in the fact we can't possibly put a time-frame on this and many other fixes across the Bug Tracker. Game development is a big giant cog with tons of different components and moving parts. Something may seem quite an easy fix, but nothing is ever quite that simple (I really wish it was simple).

Our development team will be working hard on investigating and trying to fix as many bugs across the board as they possibly can. As soon as we have an update for you regarding this issue, we will let yourself and those affected know as soon as we possibly can.

I know it can be frustrating at times, but I thank you for all your patience whilst the team continues to try and deliver the best Football Manager experience we possibly can.

its not really a bug but an actually change of competition rules that have been ignored or blatantly been missed out, even the 23.2 patch still has no update to the rules. How can removing a tick in a box to remove replays cause issues like a previous SI staff member said earlier, if anything it actually helps fix league scheduling issues as it frees up midweek dates for postponed league games to be played on rather then trying to cramp 5-6 games into 10 days in April or May at end of the league season
